Check-in was easy, and initially I had no issues. They charged me around $130 for the exam, which was completely fine. They discussed what could possibly be wrong with my dog and gave me some options. After that, I waited about an hour and a half because I was told the doctor would be back to see me soon. Instead, after waiting all that time, they came back with a bill for treatment that was never clearly discussed with me beforehand. I was extremely disappointed that I was still charged for it. What bothers me the most is that I brought my elderly dog here because I was genuinely worried about him. I was told that he was stable and doing well for a dog his age, which gave me hope that he was going to be okay. I took him to his regular vet shortly afterward, and they immediately recognized how serious his condition was and told me he was in the final stages of his life and likely only had a few days left. I understand that different veterinarians can have different opinions, but there is a huge difference between being told your dog is stable and doing well for his age versus being told he is actively declining and nearing the end of his life. I wish the severity of his condition had been recognized when I brought him here. Between the long wait, unexpected charges, and the completely different assessment of my dog's condition, I would not come back here or recommend this place. read more

Over the course of a month, four different outside veterinarians checked my cat Benny for a watery left eye, decreased appetite, and decreased activity. None could find anything other than a plugged tear duct. Benny finally got so dehydrated that I brought him to the emergency room at Inland Valley Veterinary Specialists. The doctor there that night, Dr. Jeffrey Patlogar, examined him and immediately suspected a tumor behind the left eye. He recommended an ophthalmologist, who ordered a CT scan, which indeed showed the tumor. Dr. Patlogar knew it was most likely a lymphoma, and started prednisone and L-asparaginase while waiting for an oncologist to see Benny. The oncologist concurred completely with Dr. Patlogar's assessment and treatment. Because of his timely decisions, Benny survived long enough to get radiation therapy. He has been back to his old self since. I am amazed at, and very grateful for, Dr. Patlogar's clinical expertise. He basically saved Benny. Furthermore, everyone at IVVS from the receptionists to the nurses consistently showed compassion and attention to my cat and me. If and when Benny gets sick again, we will be coming back to this ER. read more

Dr Carrol was so kind and answered every one of our questions.She recommended needed testing and bloodwork for our Lucy and we had to leave her for a couple of hours. ** Please be warned if you have a pet emergency. ** This evening, my dog collapsed, and we rushed him to your facility because you are advertised as a 24-hour emergency vet. We arrived shortly after 7:00 PM to a completely empty lobby. While holding my dog, I discovered a sign posted inside the reception window stating that your lobby is closed from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Fortunately, we were able to rush him to a different 24-hour hospital where he received life-saving treatment and is now recovering. If a clinic advertises 24-hour emergency services, it must be accessible during those critical hours. At the very least, a notice of daily closure hours needs to be clearly posted on the exterior entrance doors so frantic pet owners do not waste life-saving minutes running inside. I strongly urge you to update your public advertising or change your physical signage immediately so no other family faces this dangerous situation. ** If you have an emergency and this is your closest vet, make sure it doesn't happen between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. ** read more

My wife and I had to take in our 5 month old rescue kitty (Mr.Buttons) in because he felt very warm, was not eating, drinking water nor being himself what so ever, so at 12 midnight we ran over where we were seen in better than a "timely fashion" we were asked what was going on gave them (the nurse staff then the doctor) who QUICKLY attended to Mr Buttons. A quick 15 minute test for (par vo) came back negative thank the Lord ... The doctor came in gave us a run down explained the next process of giving him a shot or two as well as some ointment on his back that disappeared on it's on for hydration and help his stomach, also advising us that there is more like (x-rays and blood work) they can do but why put the poor kid though these things let's see how he responds to this initial treatment. We sat back and analyzed the doctors recommendations and agreed 100% as she made us feel so welcomed not overwhelmed and especially not taken ADVANTAGE OF; she (the doctor) could have easily explained that the other things x-rays-blood work were necessary and a must for us to be charged whatever that high cost would have been taking again ADVANTAGE of us seeing our pain and willingness to do or pay anything for our little boy BUT she didn't and we felt her sincerity in her explanations and more about the care and health of the kid than the mighty dollar. My dog had a scary and late night issue that needed an emergency vet visit. We came to IVVS initially because the cost of the base exam was 127$ and they were open 24 hours. The receptionist Julia was very kind and helpful taking our information and helping us get our dogs information in. They took us back into our own room with our dog, and took him back for his exam after we had been here for about 30 min. This clinic functions the same way a human emergency room does so they prioritize critical patients over others, so even though they took our dog back, it took them about 2 hours since we first got here to start his exam. Despite the frustrations of dealing with a hurt pet at late hours, the receptionist and technicians were very understanding and helpful. The technician did a good job explaining which treatments were most important to have done today, and which I could afford to do for cheeper with my regular vet. While we waited for our dog to have tests we were able to go home and they gave us a call when he was ready. Overall our dog spent about 7 hours with them but they were not able to figure out what the cause of his issues were. But they were able to rule some things out. They gave us some pain meds to help him manage and hopefully start to recover. They also offer 20$ off your exam cost if you do a review on Yelp or Google. Date of visit: 03/28-29/25 read more

Now that we've gotten our cat's remains back, I feel safe writing my honest thoughts about this place. Last Wednesday (3.4.26 at roughly 1:30am), we showed up after a Google search showed IVVS as the closest emergency hospital open near us. My husband called after our roommate found our cat unfortunately passed away. The woman on the phone was kind, at first, and told us they were open and we could bring our cat's body in for cremation. That being said, they were aware we were coming. When we arrived, they let us in the room to take a moment to spend a few minutes saying goodbye before moving forward. Well, it would've been a fine time to mourn...if the two women at the front desk, on the opposite side of the wall to our room, weren't laughing and joking loudly about whatever. And it wasn't just once. This lasted the entire time we were in the room, in and out to process paperwork at the desk. The whole process took less than an hour, and the entire time, the vets were having a wonderful time in the next room, while we were all grieving our loss. The cherry on top would be our roommate's name spelled wrong in multiple ways, including on the back of the clay pawprint they made for us that we received tonight, and the paperwork we originally received that night, both spelled in completely different ways than his actual name. The vet didn't sign our copies of the paperwork either, so we don't even know her name. When we left, however, I waited inside while my husband and roommate went out to the car, so I could speak to the vet. I very nicely told her that the entire treatment was incredibly disrespectful, and as people are mourning a loss, maybe laughing and acting like that was at such a sensitive time was rude and inappropriate. She immediately switched up her demeanor, "I'm so sorry, I haven't worked overnight in months so I'm a little delusional right now. It was unprofessional, but she (the colleague) was making me laugh and we're just trying to make it through the night." Yeah, well maybe they should stay off of the night shifts if this is how they act. We left that night/morning not only heartbroken from the loss of our fur baby, but incredibly offended by the vets' actions. Do better. read more
