I reached out a couple years ago to the VLG for some help with my VA case. I was assigned a case manager and they were diligently working on my file. I needed to fill out some forms, submit a ton of my own paperwork for evidence, and then the case manager at VLG did the rest. They would handle all the VA forms, schedule the meetings, and submit my claims to the VA because it can be extremely overwhelming and the VA does not help with filling out any forms. you won't believe how many I've filled out incorrectly and they took months to let me know and then send back to correct. VLG helped ease the process because it can be very frustrating when dealing with the VA on your own and all alone. There are also so many things you are not told or made aware of through the VA, but the VLG knows these things, they locate them, and help you apply for them or process them for YOUR benefit which as a veteran, you should be entitled to. The value is priceless. I couldn't imagine doing this on my own, because I would have given up a long time ago. For the last 3 years I received compensation due to errors by the VA that Veterans Law Group caught and submitted the paperwork to get me correct compensation and disability. I was in everyone's boat 2 years ago, stuck because the VSO in my local area just was overwhelmed with new people and forgot after submitted the review. I reached out and found VLG. This is an update to my April 2018 review. The Veterans Law Group argued my case before the Board of Veterans Appeals and won my case, but it took several years because it just takes time for the Board to work through their backlog. But veterans who have a valid claim have to do their part too. I had to go back to my Viet Nam era buddies and ask them to write letters about their recollections of the events that caused my disability. Medical records were not helpful because those of us who could walk did not want any delays in our return to civilian life, and just checked every box that we were ok. Remember that Veterans Law Group does not charge any fees in advance to review your case and only collects a small portion of your award and nothing from your future pension. I have used multiple organizations to try and get my claim up and The Veterans Law Group are the only ones that actually helped me. They have brought my rating from 60% to 90% in about a year. They let me know everything up front and that there will be a 20% fee after the claim was awarded. To me that was great because I wouldn't have to incur any costs up front. I want to thank the VLG for helping me get my unemployability and then an earlier effective date. This has been a long process, and they were there for me; either email or phone call. I've noticed some people have put negative reviews based solely on not returning phone calls. My experience with Amanda was that she always returned my phone calls. It might have taken a couple days, but I always received a phone call, and I never felt she rushed the call. The most important thing is that they worked to get me what I deserved, and they did that. It took five years, so all Veterans reading this take note!! VLG wrote an outstanding Writ of Mandamus and a legal argument for allowing video testimony, prepared by Mark Lippman. A senior staffer at the VA Regional Office stopped work on my case due to my selecting the 125 day decision window. This created a huge delay! VA denied my Video testimony initially.
