Dont give others time to finish. And plus that.. why they always giving some people they like for games. And some of us noticed that every time she called the numbers.. there's a table . First line table close to the the smoking area window.. that young man always.. they always win every games. We just want to come and enjoy playing Bingo without the rush. Now, the concession line... that's where the plot twist happened. One single‑file line moving slower than traffic on a Monday morning. I took one look, decided my peace was worth more than popcorn, and headed straight to my seat. Like a bad Monday morning, I decided I'll just go in later for the popcorn. The auditorium itself was clean and comfortable, which I appreciated. But then I met the D‑BOX seats...the $20‑per‑person motion seats I'd splurged on for both me and my husband. Let's just say they looked a little "experienced". Worn enough to make me pause and have a quick internal conversation with the Lord praying that I didn't leave with anything that I didn't come with. Luckily though, I did go prepared in long sleeves and pants. But here's the surprise: while those seats looked like they had been around the block more than a few good ole times, they WORKED like they understood the assignment. Once the movie started, they shook, tilted, and rumbled. It felt like a mini amusement‑park ride, and honestly, it made the movie even better. However, we went back this year and found the course is under new ownership. They are doing a great deal of work to improve the facility. Not only for the golf course, but they also have began serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Allso, it is one of the few places in Merkel that has a first rate bar. They have juke box, and two big screen TV's on the wall for sporting events, and such after golf. It will be interesting to see how much better it gets the next time I am in the area. If you happen to land upon Merkel Texas to work in the surrounding area, well this is your place…read more It's very affordable, there doesn't seem to be any bad elements wandering about (Except for the constant swarm of crickets that always seem to be everywhere for some reason) and it's probably the ONLY place you can stay unless you go to the neighboring towns like Sweetwater (25 more miles to the West) or Abilene (about 40 miles to the East). The owner Andy is pretty tight on the rules here because he wants to pass the savings onto you. You will be asked not to run the a/c while you depart to work while on the same token he will turn the a/c on for you around 4 pm before you return. The rooms are pretty clean, there is no mold that I noticed in the 2 rooms that I rented. The ice machines do not work outside, you'll have to go in the lobby and get your ice. Don't worry about bringing a large cooler because you'll be limited to one bucket full that came with your room. There is a swimming pool, a few picnic benches and bbq grills for your use. Wifi is free here and you'll want to ask to be near the office if you want to get decent speed. You are within walking distance to Subway, Sonic and a small grocery store that is on the same side of the feeder. If you walk under the underpass and take a right you'll find a Dairy Queen (Highly UNrecommended) and Skeets Grill (Highly Recommended, get the Ribeye!). They even took time to answer our questions about the area since we're a military family relocating from Hawai'i. Their hospitality was excellent. The only downside was the housekeeping. During our 13-day stay, our room was only serviced about five times. A couple of those days we asked for no service because our toddler was napping, but other days it was missed even after we were told someone was assigned to our room. We often had to bring our own towels down for replacements and take out our trash ourselves. With six people in the room, that made things a little stressful. That said, a couple of the housekeepers did a wonderful job--especially one military spouse who left the room spotless and the one who serviced our room on 3/5 who took the time to change our bedding, vacuum our carpet and mop our tiled floors. The hotel itself is nice, common areas are really clean and the front desk staff truly made the stay pleasant. I would stay again, but for longer stays I'd just be prepared for inconsistent housekeeping.
