Service was impeccable. We were attended by two servers as one was in training and shadowing the main server. All the servers appeared to be in college. Not that this is a problem, just something that we all noticed. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and attentive. We could not have asked for better service. Food was top notch. We started with several appetizers. The calamari was delicious! We also got the brussel sprouts which were not at all spicy as indicated on the menu which was just fine with us. Unfortunately, I can't remember the third dish and the menu is not on the website. For our main meal, I got a small bite of my friend's salmon and it was perfectly done. It's so hard to get seafood and steaks right. After just having dried salmon at a local chain restaurant, I so wished I had also ordered the salmon. I did, however, order the filet mignon as suggested by my friends. I was looking for a doneness of medium (my usual order). It was an absolute perfection of color and juiceness. I felt like I was in heaven with each bite. I was also allowed to substitute the potatoes with extra green veggies (broccoli). The husband ordered the flank steak with potatoes and broccoli. He also thoroughly enjoyed his meal. It was a generous portion that very rarely does he say that he was quite filled. We passed on desserts as we had planned to have them at our friends' home. Perhaps another time. The location was quite convenient for us. It was less than a 30 minute drive from Montgomery County. Glenwood is in Howard County. There was plenty of parking and we got a brief look of the grounds. It was just beautiful with lush greens even in December. I can see why our friends are members.

It's off of either 70 or Route 40, but it's an easy drive coming from most directions, as long as you don't hit any traffic. It was a great experience from beginning to the end, even with temps in the high 90s! The course is beautifully maintained, with some challenging fairways and the greens were fast today. The staff was friendly and check-in was quick. The clubhouse is pretty huge and has the gigantic windows that overlook the course. The cart lady was very nice and checked in on us a few times throughout our outing I can't say anything about the pace of place because we were out there on a weekday, during a heat wave, so there weren't a lot of other golfers. From what I've been told, the weekdays aren't usually that busy and definitely cheaper than other courses in the area, which is crazy. The only reason for giving it 4 stars is because maintenance was out the day we were and they were on quite a few fairways the same time we were so they seemed annoyed that we were in their way and sometimes we had to wait for them to clear out. This may have been a one off so when I go back, I'll update my review.

We used the carriage house (the preferred caterer and a separate review) and also stayed in the manor after the party. When meeting with Brian before booking the venue, he was thorough and Loree forwarded all pertinent information to use to review. Although other reviews state they did not know certain aspects of the venue requirements, I can say it was very clear to me. So I can assume Stone Manor has taken steps to not make the same mistake twice. All the requirements were very specific and explained multiple times if you actually read the paperwork sent to you. We arrived at around 12:30 on the day of our event and were greeted by Brooke and Zach, the innkeepers and they helped us unload our items from the car and it took multiple trips. Brooke was thorough with directions for our room and walked us upstairs to show us everything. The event itself was fluent and seamless, even though I'm sure there were hiccups, I didn't notice them. Brian was there and checked in several times to make I was enjoying myself. The breakfast in the morning was hot and yummy. Brooke and Zach are very attentive and accommodating. Will definitely go back for a sweet night with my sweet husband.

I would strongly advise couples to think twice before booking this venue…read more The beautiful forest ceremony space is the only reason we chose this venue. Looking back, if I had known what the planning process would be like, I would have chosen somewhere else. When we first met with them, we were promised fair pricing, excellent service, an open bar, food, and exclusive use of the venue as part of our package. We paid our deposit feeling excited and confident. Unfortunately, things changed after we signed the contract. As soon as I started asking questions because I was doing my own décor, the communication became short, impatient, and often didn't answer my questions. Instead of feeling supported, I felt like I was becoming an inconvenience. One of the biggest reasons we booked this venue was because we were told their chef "could do anything." We explained from the beginning that our families are not American and that we wanted Chinese and Israeli cuisine. We were assured this would not be a problem. Later, when we finally saw the menu, we discovered there were very limited options and nothing close to what we had discussed. We were then left feeling like we either had to accept food we didn't want or risk losing our non-refundable deposit. After tasting the food, we knew it wasn't what we wanted for our wedding. Thankfully, with the help of our wedding planner and my husband, we were eventually able to negotiate removing the food from our package and hiring an outside caterer. That process was far more stressful than it should have been. Our original package was around $11,000 and included the venue, open bar, food, and service. After removing the food, we expected the pricing to reflect what had been discussed. Instead, the pricing changed again, and we were asked to pay thousands more than we had understood we would owe. It felt like the agreement kept changing. To make matters even harder, my family was traveling from Israel. Because of the war, we had to postpone our wedding. Rather than showing compassion during an incredibly difficult situation, we were charged additional fees to reschedule. That was one of the most disappointing parts of the entire experience. Planning a wedding is already stressful. Your venue should make the process easier, not harder. Unfortunately, our experience was filled with poor communication, changing expectations, and constant stress. The forest ceremony location is beautiful, but for us, it was not worth everything that came with it. I would not choose this venue again, and I cannot recommend it based on our experience.

Affordable memberships considering the area. I have friends who have been members for years and still enjoy it. The golf course is really solid. They have a great mixture of holes. A couple of drivable par 4s and all the par 5s are reachable from certain tees. Two tough par 3s on the back that can make or break a round. Green surrounds are tough if you're in the wrong spot. The greens themselves are always in fantastic shape. They are severely sloped at times, so you must be accurate with your approach shots. I couldn't find the golf course architect on their website, but they did a good job considering the hilly topography and small footprint of the property. But I can also see one hitting pretty much the exact same shots every time no matter what tee box you're playing. Favorite hole: Par 5 12th, except for the yellow range balls that litter the left side. Downhill the entire way. Range on the left, trees and then the 18th hole on the right. Reachable for many with usually a blind-ish to a peninsula green with water right and long. The very tall red stake frames the front right of the green. Very cool hole before the brutally tough par 3 13th. The driving range is good and they have really nice Titleist practice balls to hit. The short game area is outstanding. I could spend hours out there with a few wedges. They have two small-ish putting greens on either side of the clubhouse. The restaurant is a great space and they have an area for bigger events. The food and service are both good too. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the pool area. Just a solid club overall. The members I have interacted with have all been great. I have had and heard somewhat mixed interactions with the people that run the place, but nothing bad enough to write about here.

I also love the hole 1 and 10 combo. Hole 2 is stunning too as it goes straight up the hillside with a stone wall and a severely sloped green. More room right off the tee than you would initially think. But this course is noticeably better from the blue tees than from the tips. Several blind tee shots from the back tees, the biggest being 17. It could easily become a fantastic drivable par 4 with water left and OB right. The other thing I would change is making those yardage features much smaller. They were trimmed recently and dozens of golf balls could be found by looking into them. I've lost a few in them over our rounds here. But I love the vibe here and welcome any opportunity to come back. And go see Robin Beach, their new pro. He's the man!

Extremely laid back environment and definitely not the same old stuffy environment that too many clubs have around here. The course is always in great shape, even during the winter months and pretty difficult. There's opportunities to score if you know the course but miss your shot and you can end up in a bad spot and struggling to save par. A full driving range, putting green and chipping green. The only issue is there are no lights on those facilities so trying to get out there and practice during the winter months can be tough and they're closed on Mondays. They've done a great job with upgrading the pro shop and always having new products in there. The restaurant and Tavern is beautiful and I'm sure will be a great place to hang out and have dinner and a beer after a round during the summer months. If you've considered joining I'd definitely recommend it, the pricing is great especially with the amenities and access you get.
