This trip, we drove a different way to get to the waterpark and happened to pass this playground. OMG! Up until now, the Raleigh (NC) playground has been the most EPIC playground we have been to but we think that this one might have just taken FIRST PLACE!! We were absolutely blown away by the sheer size of this playground! There was so much to do!! The play areas were clustered into different types. There was one for little little ones, another for toddlers, other ones for more adventurous kiddos, etc. Some of the climbing structures were quite high. I went up one and admit as an adult was a bit scared being so high. The other concern I had was with some of the "parallel" bar type climbing things... I thought they looked "dangerous" and indeed, one of our kids fell from maybe 10-12 feet and had the wind knocked out of her. She wasn't hurt hurt but it sure scared her (and me.) I loved that the ground cover was either rubberized mats OR turf. The various drinking fountains scattered throughout helped with keeping us hydrated and cooled us off. The one "negative" is actually due to the sheer size of this place. While I was watching one of my kids, the other went to a different play area and my heart stopped for a bit while I searched for her. She was safe but my mind went to a dark place when I couldn't find her right away. This playground does have restrooms! They weren't in the cleanest condition but it was nice to have them. Prepare yourself in advance for the COLD metal seats. Shockingly icey on a hot summer's day. Again, this is such an amazing playground and I am 100% jealous we don't have anything like this in Houston.

My then-7 y/o son was able to climb 8 feet up a structure for its intended use and jump off "on a dare" by other kids and ended up in the ER. I've also assisted with autistic children that elope and get separated due to the multiple exits. There are also multiple places to have a party, first come first served. This also makes things extra crowded. I haven't been there in a while since the heat, but I am hoping they will maintain a good-sized field because independent play (soccer, football, kite flying, etc.) are just as important as playground structures.

Families grilling, dogs all around, teens hanging, families playing volleyball, people witnessing. Lots of fishing going on. Summer time was definitely alive. The crowd stays all the way til dusk too. Also, they have really nice restrooms! It's a big brick building that has the Men's and Women's Restrooms beside each other. The Women's Rest Room was clean but, a little stuffy. There were two stalls. One was small and a little messy and the other was large without a door? Soap dispenser was filled and hot water was available too! My one suggestion would be, the path should lead to the R.R, instead of having to walk through the grass. The trails were alot smaller than I expected. They we're simple and surrounded the lake. The Park is also secured by the Police. If your family member has not returned from the lake after dusk, for more than forty-five minutes. The police will go looking for them. If your looking for a place for a family outing, I would suggest coming here. It's fun and safe!

The best thing about Arlington is all the trees and hills. North Texas is mostly flat and DFW isn't known for its foliage, but there's quite a few spots in Arlington that really feel "far away." There's true hills and canyons and forests and creeks. You can be in the center of the metroplex and still feel lost in the woods. Crystal Canyon is such a spot. This park is so pretty. I appreciate all the little signs that explain the trail and history of the area. Crystal Canyon gets its name from all the crystals (gypsum) to be found in the vicinity, particularly the creek. There's a few beautiful bridges and benches. The hike is fairly short but super scenic and enjoyable.

All of us peeps that workout with CG no longer carry our purses or wallets just our DL for several theft happening all over us. Great area to walk or jog. I frequently exercise in the area. Don't miss out on the 5 beautiful sculptures here - 1 of which creates a 'waterfall'. The upkeep of this area is usually well scheduled resulting in immaculate grass and water edges, however recently I have noted there is a horrible lack of maintenance specifically about the litter in the water - on several occasions there would be massive litter washed to the water's edge that would go neglected for sometimes weeks. This has improved in the past month for the spring weather, but it really takes from the beauty of the park when it is neglected. Don't even think about coming here if there is a Ranger game going on because they use the whole parking lot for paid event parking. It's inconvenient if you're local, but just grab a copy of the Ranger's schedule and work around that ;)

I had a terrible experience at the tennis courts today when a teenager--approximately 13 years…read moreold--rode his black bicycle right onto the courts, completely disregarding the fact that people were playing tennis. He stayed there for a long time, deliberately weaving back and forth between the families and players. When he was told that there were rules and that riding bicycles inside the tennis courts was not permitted, he began hurling insults and laughing, declaring that he would stay right where he was and that no one could tell him otherwise. He mocked us, pointing out that there was no security or manager present in the park. The families and players were ultimately forced to leave. It is unbelievable that one cannot use the park facilities without these future delinquents causing trouble! Is there a manager available at the park or there a contact number to report these incidents?

It's easy to get to with just enough parking spaces. There's lots of large trees that produce a great amount of shade. Basketball Courts are very popular. An exciting game was going on. Tennis Courts and Soft ball fields are available too. The Playground is such an exciting place! It has unique modern equipment. An upgrade since the 80's. There's one piece of playground equipment that resembles a sandbox but, it spins! There another piece that looks like an inflatable chair, spaced out from each other, like a See Saw. You can slowly rock yourself. If you haven't been to Randomill Park, you should put it on your to do list. There's something for everybody. A walk in the shade, fishing, basketball, tennis courts Softball fields, and even a Skate Park!

This park is open until midnight and has picnic areas, pavilions, basketball courts, a baseball and softball complex, the Family Aquatic Center, 2 playgrounds, swings, tennis courts, nature and paved trails, a skatepark, and a pond for fishing!
