Just while searching for beaches in a 30 minute driving radius, we ran into this gem of a park that's so well maintained. They have ample free parking and the walk to the bay is so quick. The bay might not be the best to walk on as sand is relatively less with more gravels and getting down to it from the stairs is little difficult even for well grown adults. This could definitely be wheelchair accessible in a certain way. They also have few picnic enclosures and a memorial to one of their town's fallen soldiers. The walking pavement is neatly laid out for a calm, peaceful and relaxing walk. We went on overcast conditions and had to return to the car just before the rain caught up. Will definitely return here for summers to watch the sunset in this beautiful bay/park.

There is a portapotty (if you're into that sorta thing). It's a beautiful spot to unwind or let the kids release some energy. One thing I will mention is the garbage cans were overflowing and garbage bags were on the ground which was disappointing and my only complaint. A gigantic version of that swingset-clubhouse combo you bought at Costco only to rot in your backyard because spiders and rain made it so unpleasant for kids that they refuse to use it. It's that creepy clubhouse times 30! It's pretty much a regular playground with most kids swarming the swings and other play features with a few venturing into the old wood play structure. They go in once and don't go back in again. My son was cursed at by older boys (who appeared beyond the age guidelines and I was surprised to see them still interested in a playground), and banged his head when inside the dark dank structure there was suddenly an unmarked (unlit) drastic change in ceiling height. Needless to say this experience was a turn off. It was fun to see friends and we enjoyed the togetherness of the play date but unless I'm in the area and desperate for a kid distraction, I won't be back.

They have a great running trail with workout equipment along the way and a great park, picnic area and open space. While visiting NJ this weekend I took my dog here. He loved the opportunity to burn off some energy and play ball. The only complaint about this park which hasn't changed much is all the goose poop! Other than that, I will continue to bring my dog here when I visit and take the occasional run on the trail.

At first I thought it was related to the Canadian wildfires but that shouldn't still be an issue now. I did a little more research and it seems the park is close to some warehouse distribution centers (O'Neill logistics, Creative logistics solutions) southwest of it in Monroe. I'm guessing the bad air I smell may be from idling trucks - google maps satellite view showed quite a lot of them less than a kilometer away.

Since we are in a pandemic mode and there are not many place for outdoor dining, this park was perfect for it. I really appreciate how well of a build it is.
