South Park Animal Hospital was able to give my soulmate dog, Squishy, a long and happy life…read more At SPAH, Squishy had a major surgery (limb amputation), a couple digestion issues, and a skin cancer that were all treated over the years (I'm sure I'm missing something else... we were there a lot, haha). Squishy did not like going to other vets in the past, but I never got that feeling at SPAH. The thing I appreciate most about SPAH is the staff. Sure, the facilities were new, spacious, and clean; they gave good medical advice and performed smooth surgeries. But the thing that I appreciated the most over the years was the staff really loved Squishy and I felt compassion when I visited. Thank you to all the staff that were a part of Squishy's care. I really felt like Squishy had a great team looking after her.

Choosing a new vet can be stressful, but from the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and kind, which immediately made the experience feel more comfortable. The hospital itself is very clean, well organized, and has a calm, inviting environment. It feels like a place where both pets and their owners are genuinely cared for. The vet took time to explain everything clearly, which I really appreciated as a new client. There was a bit of a wait for the prescription after the vet saw my dog, but I wasn't in a hurry, so it truly didn't bother me at all. The staff remained attentive during the wait, and the overall experience still felt smooth and positive. I will definitely be back in the coming months when my dog is due for her shots. Based on my research, this clinic is also fairly affordable, especially considering the quality of care and location. I highly recommend South Park Animal Hospital if you're looking for a welcoming, trustworthy, and well-run veterinary clinic in a great area of San Francisco.

I especially want to give a heartfelt shout-out to Dr. Crawford. A few months ago, my cat was very close to crossing the rainbow bridge, and I brought him in for an urgent visit. It was Dr. Crawford's quick thinking, expert decision-making, and calm nature that saved my cat's life. It was an incredibly emotional day, and Dr. Crawford showed so much compassion while guiding me through the best decisions for my cat. He and his staff stayed with me until almost 10 p.m., waiting for the veterinary ambulance to arrive and transport my cat to the hospital. How amazing and sweet of them! Because of their dedication and care, I still have my sweet old man with me today--and he's doing well. I'm forever grateful and thankful to everyone at Soma Animal Hospital!

She's young and reactive, especially at the vet or with new strangers. We brought her in with an eye infection and she ended up being so thorough and did much more work on her than we ever initially anticipated in both her appointment and our follow up appointment. She really did everything possible to make her comfortable and worked with my partner to go above and beyond our expectations, she doesn't normally allow more than one vaccine, while there we received two vaccines, blood work, eye drops (her least favorite) and a proper diagnosis and follow up protocol for her hernia we've always been worried about. We're going to prioritize continuing to see her going forward because the care we received was above and beyond. Thank you Dr. Rosen!

He patiently listened to us and answered our questions, and recommended the proper course of action for a couple of other issues. The rest of the team was also very helpful and friendly. The front desk team helped us submit a prescription to Costco for a couple of the prescribed medications so we could get them cheaper. The only problem we had was that our little guy hates going to the doctors and gets all nervous and shaky whenever we go for his visits, so next time we may have to remedy the situation with a tranquilizer to lessen the impact on his heart.

But when his symptoms returned Sunday morning, I called ahead and headed straight to SFAMC. From the moment we walked in, the team's sense of urgency to triage Winston brought tears to my eyes. My first main point of contact kept me informed throughout, and when the issue became clear -- a foreign object in his intestines (!) -- Dr. Adamson presented the options, risks, and likely outcomes clearly and compassionately. Winston underwent surgery with Dr. Mehl, I believe, and I picked him up Tuesday morning, a little groggy, but on the mend. Waiting in the lobby that morning, I watched so many other owners coming and going, some being reunited with their pets. It struck me: this team does this every day. I've lived long enough to know that not every outcome is positive -- but the care, competence, and professionalism I witnessed over those several days was genuinely encouraging. A heartfelt thank you to the entire SFAMC team -- from the front desk to the surgeons. Because of you, our favorite little munchkin is showing his goofy self again at home, where he belongs.
