They got us right in and assessed him immediately, ruling out serious issues and getting right to a treatment plan. The floor plan is open and you are able to see everything that is going on. They don't cram you in a room where you sit for hours wondering what is going on. There is a coffee machine, a water machine and plenty of snacks for you and your pet. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Highly recommend! There's several options for paying your bill such as care credit, Affirm or you can send a link to someone who is not with you, and they can pay on your behalf. What a wonderful experience! Modern and contemporary. We were greeted by two staff members and one was actually the Doctor. Our Maggie was covered in hives. Possibly seasonal allergies. They took great care with her. Nurses greeted her on the floor allowing for lots of sniffs. We sat in one of the alcoves. She received some medication and they asked us to wait to make sure she handled it well. It was super comfortable. Maggie got to sit on the couch/bench with me and she actually took a nap! Would bring my pet here in a heartbeat if something goes awry and can't get into my regular vet. They sent all the info over to my vet so there is a record of the visit there as well. And, the FIRST time that my girls have been ready to get out of the car without coaxing or carrying, if they were able to walk. From the moment you enter VEG you know that this is going to be wonderfully different. For not only your pets but your own peace of mind I had never had any pet IMMEDIATELY triaged the moment we walked through the doors. VEG is set up mostly in one large room where triage is done, ultrasounds, bloodwork, etc. You are able to be with your pet mostly 100% of the time which brings your and your pets stress levels down to a minimum If your pet needs X-rays or surgery that would be different a case. I would like to add that the level of CARE is unsurpassed in KINDNESS and LOVE This was the second time in four weeks that I needed to bring my dogs in. I was absolutely horrified when I heard his diagnosis especially after losing my soul dog a couple of months prior. Expensive and long wait time but the doctor and assistants here were great! Thorough and helpful, friendly and empathetic to people whose animals were in need of help. (Including ours.) We came in to see if our furchild had a blockage, since her symptoms matched everything we read (diarrhea, vomiting, drooling, lethargy) they gave her an xray and said she looked fine, no parasites or anything like that, probably just picked up a stomach bug (whew.) They sent her home with some meds and an anti nausea shot. She seems better after taking a round of each; hoping she feels 100% better quick, because I'm tired of cleaning up diarrhea, washing bedding, and giving her baths lol. My dog was extremely weak to the point he couldn't even get his head up. My husband and I found the first emergency vet that was open at 12am and this location popped up. I'm so grateful it did. As soon as we walked in, the staff saw the state of my dog a rushed into action right away. Within less than a minute he already had a needle in his arm and blankets wrapped around him. The were walking my husband and I through the process of what they were doing and being extremely intensive of us and their dog at the same time. They pulled him in back for an X-ray (they have one in house, so it didn't take long at all) and they also ran some test! We figured out he was going into shock because he has diabetic. The team working that night deserves all their flowers and I will forever be grateful for them for helping my dog! read more

As I settled in for the evening to brew some tea, I failed to take into consideration the possibility of my cat running across the stovetop. As I entered the kitchen and locked eyes with the cat, it was one of those moments where you know it's all going to go wrong. Sure enough, he gets spooked and stomps right onto an electric burner. After some language I won't mention here, I found the cat cowering under the bed. His back paw was severely burnt, so I placed a call to the ER vet. Now, in years past, VECC pretty much had a monopoly on 24/7 animal care, and I've unfortunately had to make trips there over the years, but this place is superior. While I'm sure VECC would have provided the same care, they are more transactional, whereas VEG is more compassionate and transparent (literally). I was able to fill out the intake information prior to my arrival, so the moment I walked in, they knew who I was and why I was there. Dr. Swire quickly took the case and put together a plan of action. While a burnt paw wasn't necessarily the highest priority of the evening, the doctor, nurse, and tech all made time to visit and keep me updated on the process. All the while, I had my cat by my side keeping him calm in a strange environment, whereas most vets take the cat away and leave you wondering. Finally, the time came and he was whisked to the operating table. Luckily for the little guy, he has limited feeling in his hind legs to a neurological condition, so the team was able to shave off the burnt fur and dress his wounds with no fuss. Overall, I'm glad this place has opened up. Of course, it's never really a place you want to find yourself, but if you have to decide between this emergency vet, or the other mentioned above, this is the one to come to. read more

This emergency vet is amazing. They are compassionate and thorough. We had the "misfortune" of having to go here twice. The first time, our 10 year old Pomeranian was in heart failure and they helped to move her on, over the rainbow bridge. It was the saddest day in my life but they made it somewhat bearable with their understanding and compassion. They explained our options well and we were able to make the best decision for our baby. The second time, our new Pomeranian puppy seemed lethargic and different to us so we brought her in and found out she was just really tired. Talk about over protective dog parents! But, they didn't give us any grief over being dog Karen's or anything. We love this emergency vet and wish they could be a regular vet for our new fur baby, Ami. read more

I came home this evening and my cat Freddy was not himself at all. He was drooling and he wasn't able to hold down any food first concern actually was how am I gonna afford an after hours of veterinarian clinic while I called the first veterinary emergency clinic that I googled and I called them on Rampart. They said to bring him in. I told him my concern about finances I brought him in. I did not qualify for any of the credit services, but they still gave Freddy a shot of Serrania for his nausea and didn't charge me. I think you all so much you made not only my night but Freddy's night a lot more comfortable. We are so impressed by the care VEG offered. Our cat was literally dying right in front of us due to an extreme amount of fluid around her lungs causing her to gasp for every breath. The cries and sounds she made were absolutely heartbreaking and terrifying. It was 11PM and we rushed over to the VEG on Rampart and Charleston. What happened next was like something you only see on TV. Even though we had not called ahead, when I stopped the car and my wife jumped out with our kitty in the carrier, the staff RAN outside, took her inside and within moments they had her on a triage table with oxygen at her nose and they immediately got an IV started. Candidly I had expected a bunch of paperwork and time wasting while our cat suffered terribly, but instead they focused entirely on her comfort and care FIRST. Then they took her to an oxygen chamber cubicle and put her inside with double the amount of oxygen to ease her breathing. Then and only then did they begin the check in process, AFTER making her more comfortable. They explained the procedure that was required to remove the fluid, we accepted of course and the entire time we were able to be with her - including all the way through the procedure. We were never forced to leave her side. That is exceptional care. I am so impressed by the compassion and care they provided. read more

My wife and I did not know that on Sunday 9/28 we would be saying goodbye to our loyal and beloved dog THOR. In the late afternoon THOR had a major stroke. We rushed him to the Veterinary Emergency Group on Rampart. Upon arrival, the team quickly responded by transporting THOR from our vehicle into the facility. They were prompt, supportive, attentive and most importantly, loving during a moment of absolute emotional upheaval..... It quickly became clear that due to neurological concerns that this would be THOR's final day with us. We made a very tough, but responsible and loving decision to "let him go quietly into that good night." It is important to note that I spent a large part of my career working with animals within local municipalities. In my experience, the team at Veterinary Emergency Group was among the most professional I have ever experienced. The genuine care they showed us and our THOR was top notch throughout this very tough process. From the veterinary care, to euthanasia and cremation, the entire process was flawless and made us feel special. West Coast Pet Memorial Services is where they sent THOR to be cremated. They too treated us very well and kept us informed through every step. This is indeed a very sad time for us. We are grateful that Veterinary Emergency Group was there for us. We brought our dog into VEG because he was clearly in serious pain refusing to walk, rolling onto his back, and crying anytime he tried to move. Not exactly a minor issue you wait out at home. Since this is one of the only 24hr vets in the area, we came in expecting urgency, professionalism, and actual answers. Instead, it felt more like a very expensive guessing game. Before anything else, I have to say the nurses were AMAZING. Every single one of them was kind, attentive, and consistently checked on us during the four hours we were there. They showed genuine care and compassion, and honestly, they were the only part of this experience that felt reassuring. At one point we were half expecting (and honestly hoping) one of them would come in and say they were taking over. Now for Dr. Vasconcelos. After four hours and nearly $1,000 later, the answer we got was "I'm not sure." This was after X rays were taken (and sent out to a radiologist, not even onsite) and a suggestion that maybe we should see an orthopedic specialist. So essentially, we paid emergency pricing to end up exactly where we started....just with less money... But the moment that really took this from frustrating to unbelievable was when Dr. Vasconcelos said "Well, you guys were sitting here for 4 hours, what do you think?" I genuinely thought she was joking at first. Unfortunately, she wasn't. That comment alone pretty much summed up the entire experience. We were there because we didn't know what was wrong. Asking us to weigh in after four hours of waiting felt less like medical care and more like we accidentally signed up for a group project we weren't qualified to be in. The visit ended with what felt like a last-minute spine check, only to circle right back to....you guessed it....not sure. At that point, it didn't feel like a diagnosis so much as a very expensive shrug. So to recap: four hours, a very distressed dog, a $1,000 bill, and we left with medication and zero clarity. I've had more decisive conversations with a Magic 8 Ball..and at least that commits to an answer and is 10$. For a brand new facility in Summerlin, it's honestly surprising how limited the resources and decisiveness felt. Our regular vet on Rancho has managed to take X rays and give clear answers in a fraction of the time....no suspense, no guessing, no audience participation required. We rely on emergency vets in situations like this, and unfortunately this experience fell way short. The nurses were incredible and deserve all the credit, they are clearly the backbone of that place. I just wish the same could be said for the doctor. Safe to say we won't be returning, wish I still had my 1000$. read more

We came here with our parents for their family dog that had been experiencing breathing problems and not eating. The staff here is attentive and compassionate. Ultimately, x-rays showed that her cancer had spread and was making it difficult for her to breathe. The doctor on staff did not try to sugar coat the serious situation, but delivered the news with the utmost empathy. The open floor plan here allows you to stay with your pets during their last moments. I literally am writing this with tears in my eyes knowing that their pup was able to see her people the entire time and not be taken to "the back," where all the unknown and scary things happen. I called in a panic one day because my dog was sick. I had met them at a dog festival in Desert breeze Park so I knew the number to call. It isn't very helpful when you are in a panic. But They kept me calm over the phone and talked me out of my panic. Instead of just forcing me to come in, they gave me the option of speaking to the vet directly. She was able to assist me over the phone and advised that it was not necessary for my dog to come in that night that it could just be monitored. So I really appreciated that since I know these things can be costly. We're new to being cat parents and had zero idea what to expect when our cat son, Ashton, suddenly needed emergency care. We called around to a bunch of places, but the Veterinary Emergency Group won us over before we even walked in the door, we called so many places and their phone manners were so genuine and kind that we were like, yep, this is the spot. Pricing was about the same as everywhere else, but the difference is in the vibe. Ashton wasn't just "a cat in room 3." He was the main character. They called him by name, treated him like royalty, and honestly, I think he enjoyed the attention. They try to make it as least traumatic as possible. They got us in right away, made Ashton comfortable, gave him pain meds and antibiotics, and explained the next steps super clearly. They even made us feel like we weren't completely failing as new cat parents (which was a big win). They gave us a treatment plan for his dental issues and mouth infection and provided us a list of local options to seek additional care. I'm writing this review while I'm in the waiting room. Currently, my husband and I are the only people in the waiting room. While we were there we saw a total of 2 others come in. Don't bring your dog if you're looking for quick "emergency" services. I brought my dog in because she was peeing blood and this places was quick to take my money but that's about all they care about. When we complained about how long it was taking, one of the nurses came and explained that setting up syringes and x-rays and my dog's treatment plan was taking a long time. Excuse me? Shouldn't all this be ready since it's an EMERGENCY room?! When we asked for a refund, the vet still wanted to charge us for a "checkup". The "checkup" consisted of taking my dog's weight and listening to her heart. Pretty useless place. Something else I forgot to mention that rubbed us the wrong way. A family was struggling in to bring their Great Dane inside and we overheard one of the nurses saying "If they want to carry their dog across the parking lot, then that's their choice". You don't get shoved in a room while they take your pet away and you don't know what is happening. its was so amazing. I wish they were a regular everyday vet as well. My 8yo cat was presented for extreme aggression. Dr. Vasconcelos and her team handled her with such care and thorough examination. It was determined her back molar was completely infected and likely causing her so much pain. We were able to get her in to have the tooth removed the same week based on Dr. V's recommendation for a local cat hospital and now our kitty seems so happy/is acting her playful, silly, normally spicy self. My little dog was attacked by another dog, we were triaged the second we walked in , the entire staff was kind and reassuring as I was a wreck. They stabilized my dog , gave us some antibiotic ointments and pain meds. I couldn't afford the whole treatment plan but was reassured my dog was stable and could follow up with my vet. They gave her a little bed to rest in and gave me water, snacks etc. they have many payment plans options too. I can't thank them enough for treating my little doggie with love and care . This is my second time bringing my dog into an ER vet center late at night. My first time was at a different location and the experience was very different from this center. I'm really happy I chose this place last night to bring my dog in. The Dr and tech were really warm and comforting. I had a lot of questions and they answered it all. The place is spacious and everything is out in the open. I appreciate that I was able to be near my dog at every moment from getting blood drawn, to getting fluids, or him being in their oxygen chamber. For x-rays there is a door with glass window that you can watch. Although my dog is still not feeling well, I'm sure this place did all that they can to make him feel better. read more

Our Experience at VEG Rampart We brought our dog Torrey to the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) on Rampart in late April after she vomited a few times. Within 24 hours she had died there. What was most heartbreaking was sitting with her through the final 12 hours as she struggled to breathe. Her oxygen saturation dropped to 78%, and she panted heavily the entire night. I repeatedly asked the attending veterinarian to lower her IV fluid rate, because excessive panting in a renal-compromised patient is a known sign of fluid overload. Despite my pleas--backed by credible sources--the vet refused to adjust the fluids or even listen to Torrey's lungs during that time. Her only response, minutes before Torrey passed, was that she would "think about it." I am devastated because I believe Torrey's death could have been prevented if basic standards of care had been followed. Beyond our personal loss, I worry about the quality of care being provided at this facility and the number of pet deaths occurring there. I share this so other pet owners are aware and can make an informed decision in an emergency. read more

On 9/13/25 I took a sweet rescue dog in that I had on an outing - I had 2 dogs out, it was warm, but we were all fine including the other dog, this dog was NOT and we since know he has a low heat tolerance. He had heat stroke, my 1st and hopefully last time experiencing this, I am always so careful, plenty of water, etc. Within 1 minute of arriving here, he was rushed in on the gurney and getting cooled off and all staff were working on him. I didn't love the vet or her bedside manner, but did like the rest of the staff including the head "vet tech" in charge. The after shift-change vet I really liked, too. He did not require an overnight and thankfully he was OK! I REALLY liked the open concept, a first for me, so I could be with the dog the entire time.
