we cant thank this place enough for what they did for our boy koa. we called after waiting over two hours at tropicana animal hospital to even be seen or taken seriously, as soon as we arrived, they immediately started working on koa. they did stress the urgency of the situation and were able to work around our financial situation to run tests and figure out what was going on. unfortunately, due to the nature of the situation, koa needed to have whatever it was that was in his stomach removed surgically which only worried us more due to our financial situation. however, this amazing team saw that koa was a good candidate to recieve treatment and had a good chance of recovery and we were able to utilize donations from other donors that were able to cover his surgery and keep him overnight for multiple nights. now koa is finally back home! they sent us home with meds and instructions for post surgery for the next two weeks. although the situation was extremely critical, the doctors never pressured us, never made us feel bad for our situation and was always thorough when they explained each step and never left us hanging. we were always able to visit koa and walk him and other owners around us even told us constantly how great this place was. as pricy as it was, this is an EMERGENCY room and not your regular vet. don't think we would of received the same care and urgency anywhere else. I'm writing this as I'm on my way to another emergency vet cause I felt so disrespected by this vet. When we walked in the girl who greeted us was so nice, then the vet walked over (I didn't get her name) and said "tell me in one sentence why you're here"... wth. I don't know where to begin to describe the last 12 hours in one sentence so I'm kinda stammering and I mentioned I gave my dog medicine and she rudely interrupts and asks what kind and I had trouble remembering the exact name of it and she was just unnecessarily rude about it and tells us to go wait for an exam. I walk away thinking ok, this is an emergency vet, maybe she's just busy and overwhelmed and I go sit, then the next dog walks in and she treated them completely differently. She didn't give them the "one sentence" rule. It was clear whatever her problem was it was with me so I left. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped my dog, Gracie, today. This was truly the best veterinary clinic experience I have ever had. Gracie is now 16 years old and has several health issues, so unfortunately, we are no strangers to veterinary visits and treatments. From the moment we arrived, I was incredibly impressed. The facility was exceptionally clean, and every person we encountered treated us with genuine kindness, compassion, and care. While I was there, I witnessed another family saying goodbye to their dog, and I was deeply touched by the genuine emotion and compassion shown by the entire staff. You could truly see how much they care about the animals and families who come through their doors. I have never witnessed that level of heartfelt compassion at a veterinary clinic before. Dr. Jones was absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. Mary was also incredible and so gentle and caring with Gracie. Lili and Kristen were wonderful as well, and the entire front desk staff made us feel welcomed and supported. When your pet is sick--especially when they have been part of your family for so many years--it can be incredibly emotional and difficult. Everyone here understood that. They were patient, supportive, compassionate, and truly went above and beyond for both Gracie and me. We had to bring our baby girl Pancake in around 1:30 this morning for diarrhea, vomiting and lethargy. Pancake is my 17 year old daughter's dog so she was a wreck and crying and I was doing my best to put on a brave face for her. The entire staff was so kind and attentive. We did have to wait over 3 hours before they could get anything started on her as there was a critical case when we came in and a few others with more urgent issues than hers so it was understandable. They continued to acknowledge us through the wait and apologize and check in with us. Every single nurse and assistant who helped us was fantastic. We were there from 1:30am til about 6pm so we had both overnight and day shift helping us and all of them were amazing. Dr. Izaguirre was Pancake's initial Dr when she was admitted. We've had terrible experiences in the past with vet offices trying to push unnecessary diagnostics for profit but this place was the total opposite! They were honest and upfront and didn't try to prematurely push expensive things just because..something I'm super thankful for as a single mom and as someone who would say yes to anything to help our fur babies. Dr. Villanueva took over for Dr. I for the remainder of Pancake's stay and he was equally fantastic. Kept me up to date and was super kind. Dr. Lee wasn't part of Pancake's care team but he was there when we brought her in and was back before we were discharged and he remembered her and kept loving on her and saying how pretty and sweet she was. 100/10 I will recommend this ER vet hospital to anyone looking for someplace to take their sick fur babies when they need immediate vet care. What could have been an extra stressful and emotional night and day was made quite a bit easier because of this amazing hospital and their amazing staff. We cannot thank you enough! read more

I brought our family dog in last night with heavy breathing and wheezing. I am going to leave this review based strictly on our experience and not on the outcome of our dog. The entire experience began with my initial phone call, I spoke to Francisco, he was friendly and gave me the information I needed to make a decision to bring my dog in. We arrived around 10:00pm and greeted with a friendly face, got checked in. Everyone there can see the stress on an owner's face, the staff was kind. My dog was promptly triaged and then seen by Dr. Bishop. Dr. Bishop's face oozes kindness, but what is impressive is his knowledge. He is young and probably looks younger than he is, but he blew me away with how fast he knew what was potentially happening to my dog and later to be confirmed by X-rays of his educated guess. No one here wasted any time caring for my dog, even though there were several dogs there, we really felt like we were the only ones there, this is how they make you feel, they give you their undivided attention and compassion, then move on to the next patient and family and give them their undivided attention and compassion. I felt like the treatment they gave my dog and us was worth every penny. We were there for several hours, they even offered us snacks. My dog's diagnosis is congestive heart failure, but Dr. Bishop knew exactly how to proceed with treatment and my dog's breathing was drastically improved and the wheezing stopped. This is not the diagnosis anyone wants to hear, but it's the reality of it and everyone here did everything to make my dog comfortable until he improved. He'll need medication for the his rest of life, but I'm sure this clinic saved my dog last night from possible respiratory failure. Our little Eddie gave us quite the scare last night. Thank goodness we found a 24 hour vet spot in Veterinary Emergency Group. We rushed him in when he ate some of his bone and looked like he wasn't properly breathing. He got extremely lethargic, started shaking and worried us enough to scoop him up and put him in the car at 10pm to bring him here. As soon as we walked in the staff welcomed us at the door and buzzed us in. They took his vitals right away and looked at his gums which were still pink so that was all good signs they said. His temperature was good, too. We then were asked to wait on the couch with him till the doctor could come talk with us. As we were sitting there, another poor doggie was rushed in with an emergency more important for sure so the vet was focused on him. Which was totally fine! As we were sitting there, Eddie stopped shaking and seemed like he was getting better, thank god. The vet did eventually come over to us and she was so nice. Dr. Kat. She explained that she felt like he seemed pretty normal and that sometimes that can happen and we did the right thing bringing him in and if it happens again we can bring him in again. She told us there was no charge for the visit, which was SO kind. We definitely were expecting to pay something for them checking him, but she said we were good to go. It was so kind of her. Definitely a five star experience. Every single staff member was so nice and just seeing them interact with the other doggie patients, you can tell everyone here really cares and loves what they do, helping animals. Hopefully we don't have to come back haha, but if we do need to go to an emergency vet, this one will definitely be it. read more

We have unfortunately had to visit VEG several times over the years, and every single time the care has been exceptional. The veterinarians and staff are professional, kind, compassionate and genuinely listen to you. I also really appreciate that they practice conservative medicine. They don't recommend unnecessary tests or treatments, but they also never compromise the care your pet needs. I especially love their open treatment area. Being able to stay with your pet, see what is happening and communicate directly with the team makes an incredibly stressful situation so much easier. Today we brought our dog Stanley in very early because he was clearly in pain. While we were there, an injured stray dog was rushed in after being hit by a car. Sadly, her injuries were catastrophic. Watching the entire VEG team immediately shift their attention to this dog and treat her with the same urgency, kindness and compassion they would have given someone's beloved family pet really stayed with me. It was heartbreaking, but also such a reminder of the kind of people who work here. Stanley thankfully came home with us today and is going to be okay. We have also experienced the other side of emergency veterinary medicine at VEG in the past, and the compassion we've received during those incredibly difficult moments has been just as remarkable. You never want to need an emergency vet, but when we do, VEG is where I trust my animals. I am very grateful that the Animal ER was available at 5 a.m. and that they were able to unblock my baby boy cat during an emergency. However, my experience after the initial unblocking was extremely disappointing. Throughout his stay, we were repeatedly given uncertain or unclear answers about what was actually wrong with him. As a pet owner, I had questions and concerns, especially because my cat's condition was serious, yet whenever we asked questions, it often felt like the staff became annoyed that we were asking. I expected clear communication, compassion, and confidence from the medical team caring for my pet. Unfortunately, the overall experience left me feeling that the staff caring for him were inexperienced and that we were not receiving the level of care or answers we should have been receiving. We ultimately spent around $4,000, and looking back, I feel that money could have been much better spent at a facility with more experienced veterinary doctors and nurses, such as LVVSC. I truly appreciate that they were there for us in the middle of the night and that they were able to perform the initial procedure that saved my cat from the immediate blockage. But beyond that, I was deeply disappointed with the communication, level of confidence, and overall care we received. Because of this experience, I would not recommend VEG to other pet owners, and I personally will not be bringing my pets there again, regardless of the circumstance. When someone's pet is sick and they are spending thousands of dollars for emergency care, they deserve to feel confident that their animal is in experienced hands and that their questions are being taken seriously. read more

I have been involved in animal rescue in four different states for as long as I can remember, and I can genuinely say I have NEVER had an experience with a veterinary hospital like the one I had at VEG Henderson. This was by far the best experience I've ever had. A few days before coming here, I rescued a pigeon I named Chicken. I was nervous about bringing him to an emergency vet because unfortunately, not everyone treats pigeons with the same compassion they would a dog or cat. His condition took a turn for the worse Saturday night, so I brought him to VEG. From the beginning, everyone was incredibly kind, calm, and organized. The first person we met was Amanda, one of the nurses, and she was AMAZING. I found out she had previously had a pet pigeon herself and absolutely adored them, which immediately made me feel better knowing Chicken wasn't going to be viewed as "just a pigeon." She spent so much time answering questions and helping me make some incredibly difficult decisions. She honestly must moonlight as a therapist because she was THAT good at helping me process everything. Chicken was treated by Dr. Levi, who was equally phenomenal. He told me he had a pigeon while he was in veterinary school and had experience treating them. Between him and Amanda, it genuinely felt like I had somehow ended up in exactly the right place with exactly the right people. Dr. Levi's bedside manner was incredible. His tone, body language, patience, and ability to explain everything immediately made me feel calmer. I never felt rushed, talked down to, or like I was asking a stupid question. I also REALLY appreciated how finances were handled. Some veterinary offices can make you feel like the amount of money you can spend determines how much you love your animal, and I never felt even an inkling of that here. There was no judgment or pressure. Chicken was diagnosed with a respiratory infection, treated, and sent home with antibiotics. They carefully showed me how to administer everything and told me to contact them if I needed help. The next day, I realized I didn't have anyone home to help me give Chicken his medication, so I called VEG and asked if I could bring him back. I specifically offered to pay them. They told me not to worry about it and met me in the parking lot to help administer his medication again, no appointment and no charge. Unfortunately, immediately afterward, Chicken passed away. I was devastated and called them because I needed someone to confirm he was actually gone. They came back outside, and Dr. Levi once again showed what an incredible human being he is. He consoled me, gave me time, and never made me feel rushed despite the fact that I didn't have an appointment and wasn't paying for his time. He also gently offered their cremation services and asked if there was anything else they could do. I think what says the MOST about VEG Henderson is that their compassion never depended on whether I was spending money. They were wonderful during my paid emergency visit, wonderful when I returned without an appointment for help, and wonderful when Chicken passed away and there was nothing left for them to charge me for. The kindness remained exactly the same. Their pricing was also very fair for a 24-hour emergency hospital, and I appreciated that they offered payment arrangements. I genuinely wish VEG Henderson were a regular veterinary office because I would bring all of my animals here. If you ever need an emergency vet, trust me when I say: GO HERE. Chicken may have only been a little rescued pigeon to some people, but he mattered tremendously to me. The people at VEG Henderson understood that without me ever having to explain it to them. We brought our dog here for an emergency after he became sick and they found rocks in his stomach. The staff acted quickly and admitted him overnight. A moment that stood out was how a discussion about resuscitation and emergency decisions was presented. While I understand these are necessary conversations in emergency medicine, the tone felt very abrupt and clinical in an already emotional situation. I feel that this woman could have been a little more compassionate with how to deliver that. The communication and coordination of care after that point was extremely difficult. We agreed to proceed with treatment and paid based on the plan presented. After this, we were later informed that the equipment needed to complete the procedure was not functioning. At that point, we were told we would need to pick up our dog and take him to another hospital to continue treatment. This was very upsetting, especially given that we had already committed both emotionally and financially to the care plan. We also had to call ourselves the next morning for an update, as we were not proactively informed about whether he had passed any of the rocks. It was surprising to learn that no one had already reached out to us with these updates. We were later told he had passed some of the rocks, but not all. While I appreciate that they identified the issue and provided initial emergency care, the lack of communication along with inconsistent updates and being asked to transfer care after already committing to a treatment plan and payment made this an even more stressful experience...the female doctor was really nice though. read more

I hope this business thrives forever. They are truly amazing. The night before my wedding, my wedding party came to my home to prepare for the next day. A wedding a huge for everyone but considering the 6 figures that we'd spent on it, we couldn't afford for anything to go wrong leading up to the day. But...unfortunately, it happened. Two of my three dogs got into a HUGE fight because of all the commotion in the house. I think being excited by all of the guests and resource guarding from my most traumatized dog, it led to a very bloody fight at midnight...and it wasn't just theirs but mine too. I was so distraught by my dogs being so hurt, my wedding day was the last thing I even cared about. My husband, always being a hero of mine, reminded me there was an emergency vet down the street from us. He assured me things would be okay and begged me to stay home and try to relax as much as possible while he rushed our dogs to VEG. He texted my wedding party updates telling them how kind the staff was and how much care they were giving my dogs. They're my priority above all things, including my wedding day. My husband mentioned to the staff that we were just hours away from our wedding day and the ENTIRE staff suddenly picked up their pace. They didn't have to go above and beyond and they did exactly that. They got my dogs out of there in about 45 minutes-- even while they had other patients prior to us getting there. I'm so so so grateful. Yes, their prices are a little higher than normal but they are an EMERGENCY vet, open 24 hours. Please understand that these people are giving us hours of their lives at odd hours that most of us don't want to work in order to take care of our pets in an emergency. So they may not be priced like your regular vet, but they're specialized for emergencies. Just be grateful they exist at your greatest time of need. read more

It's taken me a while to write this review, but I had to bring my sweet girl in to VEG ER back in January. She had been lethargic and had a developed a deep cough on a Saturday, so we made an appointment for my regular vet the next morning. Unfortunately, she took a turn for the worse in the middle of the night and we decided to take her in to VEG ER. We called ahead and the vet actually held off on going in to surgery so they could triage her immediately upon arrival. I was shocked by how professional the entire set up was. There were about 3 or 4 vets and vet techs set up around her taking vitals within a minute of our arrival. Unfortunately, there were a couple plausible causes of her symptoms and none of them had a good prognosis. I greatly appreciate how clear and candid the vet was as they explained the situation. We had a feeling that it might be time to say goodbye, but it was very difficult to make the decision without the rest of my family getting the chance to see her. All of the staff at VEG ER made the entire experience as painless as it could be. They took us to a private room in the back, dimmed the lights, and let us have as much time with her as we wanted. We were probably in there for at least 30+ minutes before we were ready to go forward. We never felt any kind of pressure or rush from the staff. Once they had administered all the medications, they once again let us have as much time as we needed before they took her away. It was a very difficult night, but every single staff member we encountered made it a little bit easier. I would highly recommend VEG ER. read more

My tiny beast was fine in the afternoon. That evening she became very lethargic and was laying in corners of the rooms and completely not herself. I woke up at 2am to find her trying to vomit. I turned on the light to what I can only describe as a murder scene. Diarrhea and blood everywhere in the front room. I function very well in chaos but, when it comes to my little....different story. Frantically I started searching for a 24hour vet. I found VEG and called. I spoke to an incredibly nice young lady and explained what was happening. She told me to bring her in. I got to VEG a little after 2am and upon arriving, they were working another case. That case didn't end well (Parvo) and although heartbreaking, the staff handled the situation and the owner of that pup incredibly well. The staff then helped me out. Dr Kat came over, got an idea of what was going on. Doc did an ultrasound, explained she would like to do xrays at a minimum but, it would be cheaper at my regular vet than the ER. We talked and Doc did the X-rays, sent them out and conferred with the radiologist within an hour. They gave the beast a shot for nausea. Doc explained she felt it was aspirated pneumonia. Dangerous but, manageable and recoverable. Due the little being hydrated, that helped alleviate some concern. Doc explained the meds she wanted to prescribe and that I could get two OTC for less expense. I wanted everything done then so that I could get the little back to normal as soon as possible. We were on the way home by 6am with meds and instructions. I can't say enough about Dr Kat and her staff. Incredibly professional, empathetic, knowledgeable, caring and soft when interacting with me. I see some reviews referencing cost so, let me say this....it's an Emergency Vet. They are going to more just like if we went to the ER vs our own doctor. That being said, my bill was very reasonable for the circumstances. I also felt that Doc and the staff didn't treat it as a business or money generator. At no time did anyone try to upsell anything, recommend treatments or meds that weren't needed, "ring" the bill up. If anything, they were incredibly caring and tried to save me undo expense. If you love your pup as much as I do and find yourself outside normal hours and needing medical care, please don't hesitate to contact VEG on N Stephanie. You can absolutely count on a staff that actually cares about you and your animals without breaking the bank unnecessarily. I was there visiting my folks, so I didn't know where to take her for emergency care. This place 'VEG' came up in my quick search for somewhere nearby. I called ahead to let them know I was coming in (I like to get on a waitlist as fast as I can, if it's possible). They sent me the intake form, which was quick to fill out. When we came in, someone greeted us immediately and got us seated and checked in. Someone came and talked to us within a minute or two. The vet (Dr. Lorenza 'last name' I don't remember) we worked with was really great; she listened to my dog's lungs and knew immediately that something was a little off. She set up an ultrasound and saw some fluid/inflammation. To be cautious, she offered to do X Rays if I was amenable, which I was. Hey, I'm a paranoid pet parent! Anyway, they were very gentle with my dog and with all the other patients I saw. The layout they have for the facility is unique. It's primarily open and you can pretty much always see your dog and stay with them. While there are some smaller private rooms, most of the place looks to be a giant floor with different exam tables. After the X rays and bloodwork revealed that my dog was not poisoned or suffering anything crazy, they gave her some anti-nausea medicine and sent us home. Dr. L said she'd be happy to look at my dog again for no charge the next day to make sure she was trending in the right direction. My dog is now feeling much better and is back to normal, thankfully. All in all, this was a great experience. Dr. L was very thorough, clear, and kind, as were all the techs I interacted with. I cannot really speak to the price, but it did not seem excessively expensive for what they were doing. The waiting room was also stocked with juices, water, soft drinks, and some snacks too, FWIW. read more

On Sunday, May 3, 2026, we brought our dog, Daisy, to your Henderson, Nevada emergency veterinary facility because she was experiencing significant nose bleeding. We arrived at approximately 12:30 p.m. Daisy was triaged shortly after arrival, and we were moved into an examination room to wait for the veterinarian. When the veterinarian first examined Daisy, he stated that he believed the bleeding was likely environmental in nature and recommended initial bloodwork. Prior to testing, we were informed that we would receive a text message with the estimated costs for the procedures. We approved and paid approximately $900 for the initial diagnostics. Approximately one hour later, the veterinarian returned and informed us that Daisy's liver enzymes and white blood cell count were elevated, and that the issue might be autoimmune-related. He recommended additional testing and advised us that another estimate would be sent. We approved and paid an additional estimated amount of approximately $1,400. Shortly thereafter, Daisy began bleeding heavily from her nose. Veterinary assistants entered the room and attempted to control the bleeding. Although they managed to slow the bleeding somewhat, it never fully stopped. At that point, we were left in a room with blood covering much of the floor. I eventually had to retrieve a towel from my vehicle so Daisy would not have to lie in her own blood. Several hours later, the veterinarian returned and stated that Daisy's additional bloodwork had come back normal and that it was no longer believed to be an autoimmune issue. He still recommended an ultrasound and X-rays to rule out additional abnormalities. During this time, Daisy continued bleeding continuously. Both my son and I became covered in blood while attempting to keep her calm and comfortable. I asked one of the veterinary assistants if I could have a mop or cleaning supplies to clean the blood from the floor. I was told, "No, she is going to continue to bleed, so there is no point." This occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. We then remained in that same room, surrounded by blood, for approximately three additional hours. The ultrasound and X-rays were eventually completed, and we were informed that both appeared normal. At approximately 9:30 p.m., the veterinarian entered the room and stated that he did not know what was causing Daisy's condition and intended to discharge her to go home, despite the fact that she was still actively and heavily bleeding from her nose. We live approximately two hours away from your facility, yet we were advised to transport our dog home in that condition and simply follow up with our regular veterinarian the following morning. The veterinarian also informed us that your facility did not have the equipment necessary to scope Daisy's nasal passages to determine whether there was a mass or other source of the bleeding. I then asked whether there was another emergency veterinary facility in the Las Vegas area that had the necessary equipment and capabilities. The veterinarian confirmed that there was another facility available, and I requested that he contact them. After spending approximately eight hours at your facility, sitting in a room covered in blood while our dog continued to bleed without resolution or meaningful treatment, we were effectively told, "I don't know what's wrong with her, so I'm going to send her home." Despite paying approximately $2,300 in diagnostic and emergency care charges, no diagnosis or effective stabilization was provided. Thankfully, we chose not to follow the recommendation to take Daisy home. We immediately transported her to another emergency veterinary hospital, where the staff treated her appropriately and informed us that sending her home in that condition could have resulted in her bleeding to death. This experience was traumatic, unacceptable, and deeply concerning. At no point should a critically bleeding animal and her family have been left for hours in unsanitary conditions without adequate intervention, communication, or escalation of care. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the level of care Daisy received fell far below the standard we expected from an emergency veterinarian. read more

This place is pretty awesome. I arrived at 4 AM so it was pretty empty, but my first impression is - impressive! It has a massive front office and the front office is also the back office! I was greeted and directed to a small waiting area to the left and then someone came to take my information. And then a really nice nurse came to take Abby's vitals. Soon after, the doctor came to me and did the examination right there. No back room because everything is out in the open! I appreciated the exam from Dr. Allen and could easily chat with him about concerns and symptoms and his diagnoses. He was very thorough. It's very clean and all staff were really welcoming. It is open 24/7 and I found them by searching for an emergency Vet in Henderson. They had very good reviews. Thankfully, it wasn't as serious as I feared and I will follow up with my regular vet. But if this place ever offers general veterinary services, I would absolutely choose them. It's just not your typical veterinary office or emergency vet office. Which was perfect for me. read more

Highly recommend! My 13 year old chihuahua was attacked by my other dog Lab/husky over a dog bone. Due to the fact that Havasu has absolutely NO emergency services for animals we had to drive two hours to Henderson. Dr. Brooke Godfrey and her team were amazing! So kind, compassionate and caring towards my Frankie. (He can be extremely difficult on a good day). Dr. Godfrey and team made sure to keep us informed and explained the care plan with compassion and clarity.Thankfully Frankie only had severe bruising from the attack. So here's a long story of why my experience went from amazing to horrific with this hospital. I brought my cat in as she was definitely knocking on heavens door. She's diabetic and was diagnosed with ketoacidosis, Outlook not so good at all. I love my baby Panda so the cost wasn't an issue, $6,000 the first day. She made a miraculous comeback overnight, the doctor herself told me she's never seen such a recovery from the condition she was in and was amazed at my little Panda's overnight turnaround. She wasn't out of the woods just yet however, she still definitely needed treatment. Day 2, another $4000. Now Panda is doing remarkably well and is close to being taken off all IVs and the feeding tube she had. Every time I came to visit she was so excited to see me and I was so happy she was doing so well! Day 3, another $4000. Now Panda is eating and drinking on her own, only 2 IVs of the original 7 still in use, and those were ready to come out as well, no feeding tube and she's using the litter box on her own. She was 95% or more fully recovered. I wanted to bring her home. The traveling vet they had working there at the time coerced me into another day for 'observations' she honestly did not need. I reluctantly agreed, but should not have, she was ready to come home. Next day I come to pick her up, it's another $4000, for keeping her overnight. No IVs, no feeding tube, no critical care given, nothing that could realistically constitute charging another $4000. Just observations. I picked her up around 6, didn't leave until around 630, which was 30 minutes before it was time for her next food time and insulin dose was scheduled, so it was kind of a rush situation to get her home, feed her, and give her insulin shot. This is where things went really wrong. I did not have time to read through all the discharge papers so they explained to me the process, however they did not provide me with the proper syringes as they were supposed to. I had informed them I had leftover U40 syringes from her previous insulin prescription, this is critical information. They prescribed a dosage that was meant for U100 syringes. They told me 3 units, however the actual prescription called for 2 units. Without receiving the proper syringes from them as was stated I was to receive in the discharge papers, I used the U40 syringe and followed the 3 unit dosage they told me. This resulted in me administering over 3x the prescribed dosage of insulin, and her sugar level crashed to an extremely dangerous low, nearly causing her to go into a diabetic coma. I called the hospital and they informed me to give her sugar on her gums to bring her level up, which it did, but I subsequently administered her next 2 doses the same way, and got the same result. Blood sugar level crashed to dangerous low. I was able to bring her level back up each time thankfully because I watched and tested her sugar level consistently. The hand written instructions specifically said do not test her sugar level, however if I hadn't, she would have died. I took her to her regular vet the next day and explained what was going on, the first thing they asked was what size syringes was I using. I didn't know there were different kinds. They knew immediately the issue, but the ER clinic somehow forgot to mention that extremely vital piece of information. Because of this I did not pay the last $4000 for the extra day of unnecessary observations they convinced me of. When I went to refill her insulin prescription, they refused to authorize it due to the outstanding balance owed. So they were willing to just let Panda die because they didn't get the last $4000. Keep in mind I had already paid in full $14,000 for her care. They just refused to authorize her refill again, which is not only unethical, but actually illegal here in Nevada. They cannot refuse to authorize a medication in which certain harm or injury will occur by doing so. They aren't obligated to provide it, but they legally cannot refuse the authorization. I will be following up with the proper authorities to have this investigated and hopefully have these people lose their licensing to practice veterinary medical services. They were willing to let my cat die because of greed. So much for their Hippocratic oath, money is more important than the life of an innocent pet who did nothing wrong. Horrible people. read more

We just moved here yesterday from California, and had no idea where to go when our dog became sick. We are so thankful for the vets and staff here. Everyone was absolutely amazing. I also truly appreciate that they go over all of the costs beforehand and give you options. Not only was everyone awesome with our dog, but they were also constantly checking on the pet parents to see if anyone needed water or coffee. It was just a genuinely kind place. We also witnessed compassion and true kindness from all the staff and doctors when another person was dealing with the possibility of euthanasia. We are so happy that Veterinary Emergency Group was here to take care of our doggy. I wish I would've gotten all of their names, but they were just all amazing. I only remember Dr. Lee and Kylie's names, but everyone was top-notch and helpful. What a great team! Thank you all who were working on the morning and early afternoon of Saturday June 28! This place is awesome I brought my dog in because he was in a lot of pain. As I walked up to the door, they were there to open it and greet me. Wow!!! The staff is amazing. The front desk immediately took all my info, she was fantastic, and a wonderful, caring doctor came over to us and checked out my Jake to make sure there was not an immediate need. They explained everything they were doing and what they were going to do. Dr. Izaguirre was amazing, I wish I got the name of her tech because she was awesome. Every step of the way they treated me with professionalism and respect. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO YOU!!!! HIGHLY! Thank you all for making my huge scare a wonderful visit. On Saturday my 2 year old male cat was showing signs of a blockage, this vet was the closest and only place open near us. We rushed him over and phoned them before that we were coming in. The minute we entered the clinic they IMMEDIATELY started working on him, 5 vets! It was amazing how fast their response time was to attend him. He had a lot of complications and they literally saved my cats life. After they discharged him to us I (like the crazy cat mom I am) called them around 50 times hahah with question after question and each time they answered with thoughtful responses to my worried questions and never hesitated.
