Do not come here! You will be overcharged and gaslit into paying way more than what was promised…read more I brought my cat in for a basic wellness check up and their website CLEARLY advertised first time visitors pay $25 for a basic wellness exam. When I tried mentioning it to the nurse that did intake she immediately brushed it off and mentioned the doctor will be in shortly. We get to the end of a very very basic exam, checking teeth, heart, weight, eyes tells she she's in good health and we go upfront to pay. They hit me with a $50 fee for the exam which I clarified about the deal and they just didn't care. I pulled up their OWN website and read them the deal and they still didn't care. I told the girls at the front desk that I felt this was a bait and switch and extremely dishonest, and they smiled at me and said "restrictions apply" and that "we know it's confusing we've asked corporate to change that" so that tells me I'm not the first person this has happened to. Cool, if you're business wants to do bait and switches and be dishonest to new clients then I won't ever be doing business with you again, and I'll personally do my part to get the word out that you're robbing people point blank. That's not how you give good service, that's not how you treat customers, shame on all of you

Dr. Gill comes back and recommends a set of X-rays, and a full blood workup ($$). I agree, but ask the vet tech to run the x-ray first to rule out the obvious and hen run the blood. She says sure, no problem. Then comes back 10 minutes later and tells me it'll be 30 minutes before the blood tests are done. I confirm, yes they drew and the Dr "thought it best to run both". OK, first strike. So I go sit in my car waiting the allotted time with my sick puppy. I get a call about 25 minutes later, asking if I plan to come back in for the results. I said, I'm in the parking lot. Kind of rude, so second strike. Then the Dr goes over his results, and tells me that next options are a barium test $$, Ultrasound $$$, or exploratory surgery $$$$. Before I decide, I ask her why she ordered the blood work before we had a chance to review the X-rays. She then lies to my face, and tells me she "came out to talk to me, but I was gone." Third and final strike. No way they're touching my puppy! So I pay, and ask for a copy of my records and mention my disappointment to the woman at the counter. I simply state I'll pay, but I need a copy of my records for the next vet in case of an emergency and I won't be coming back because of what just happened. Another tech comes up and asks what's wrong; she tells her "oh, he's mad we ran the blood without asking him"! I offer, no, I'm just disappointed. She doubles down, oh he's just mad". How rude, I wasn't mad - but I sure am now. Please, do yourself and your fur baby a solid. Go anywhere but here. They don't care about pets, they care about money. And lack even simple, common, human decency. And to top it off, maybe they could spend a little more time cleaning the rooms between patients.

Based on appointment availability we landed at BluePearl about 2 years ago. I'm glad we did, though! Every 6 months the girl has to go for a ultrasound and possible echo to monitor her heart and make sure it's not worsening. I've gone with my mom to several of these appointments, including taking her solo to one today and everyone here has been lovely to work with. From the receptionists checking us in, the techs taking care of our dear girl, the doctor coming in to explain the results and tell us next steps (she was stable this visit. YAY!), and the clerks checking us out, they've all been lovely and made us feel comfortable and reassured. Prices, like others have said, are a little steep. But specialists in general are pricey so I don't feel like it's going to me much different if you go somewhere else. Also, I don't quite feel like they're upcharging us on anything. Even just today they didn't do the echo because the first two tests came back stable. That saved us several hundred dollars that they could have possibly charged us for. So I appreciate that!

When I arrived, I was not greeted and had to approach another staff member for assistance even though they were not occupied. Throughout the visit, communication from the veterinarian felt cold and lacked empathy. When I asked what they would recommend if it were their own pet, I did not receive a clear or helpful answer. During one of the most difficult moments, while we were grieving and saying goodbye, the demeanor in the room felt inappropriate and not aligned with the seriousness of the situation. When we returned with our other dog to say goodbye, we were allowed to spend as much time as we needed, which I appreciated. However, we were given a final price in the room that later increased at the register, which was frustrating and added confusion during an already emotional time. We also experienced another unwelcoming interaction at the front desk, where I had to repeat myself to be acknowledged. I understand emergency clinics are busy, but compassion, clear communication, and consistency matter, especially in end-of-life situations. Based on my experience, the customer service was poor, and I did not feel supported during a very emotional time.

So disappointed with this place! I've been taking my dog here since I got him, 3 yrs ago. He had…read moresevere gastrointestinal issues every month after starting monthly flea/tick/worm meds. After a year of seeing them every month for vomiting and diarrhea, I discovered that it was caused by one of the meds. Yes...I figured this out when I missed one of the doses, but he got the other. When I gave him the missing dose, the vomiting and diarrhea started. I searched the web and that particular medication was notorious for causing gastrointestinal issues. DePorre put him on another med...which I found was a double dosage with the first med. Unacceptable! Last year, my pup broke out in hives and developed ear infections. After several visits, DePorre couldn't figure it out...nor did they seem concerned. They just kept charging me for ER visits. I took him to Eastpointe Animal Hospital, where they immediately took samples and determined that he had an allergic reaction to something in the environment. This was his first visit and they got it right...at a fraction of the cost! He was on allergy shots for the summer and he didn't have any more reactions. Unfortunately, that doctor retired and i ended back at DePorre earlier this year. My dog had been throwing up and would not eat. I took him to DePorre on the 3rd day. They took blood samples and sent them out to be analyzed. They said it would take 3 days for the results. I'd grown concerned because he hadn't eaten or had anything to drink in 3 days. They gave him some fluid (under his skin) to counter his dehydration and told me to come back if he didn't take in anything by the next day. By the next day my dog was very weak...still not eating or drinking. I took him back to DePorre. They wanted to charge me for an ER visit, which I refused to pay. They took "in house" blood tests (don't know why they didn't take them he day before), which came back inconclusive. The doctor told me that I should take him to the hospital...where I paid an additional $5,700 for them to diagnose him with IBS. The blood tests that DePorre took were insufficient. They didn't check for electrolytes! I'm completely outdone by the insufficiency of DePorre Veterinary Hospital. If you value the life of your animal (and your finances), don't take them here! They will take your money and not think twice about your pet.

After weeks of pain with no improvement and seeing other vets I was referred to Dr. MacDonell for treatment. From The moment we arrived at this clinic we felt a level of compassion and priority unlike any other vet I have ever been to. I could literally cry writing this. In only 3 acupuncture treatments my dog went from needing surgery to what seems like her previous puppy like self. It has been absolutely amazing to witness the healing from this therapy. This clinic and doctors will make you feel like you MATTER! Not just a time slot on their appointment board. The front desk and vet techs go above and beyond. Checking you out for services in the room, making sure you're comfortable and have everything you need. Everyone is positive and smiling. I will never go anywhere else again. He can be rude and uncaring. I have also noticed that he seems to prefer dogs over cats. I don't feel like veterinarians should feel this way but it's noticeable. Also, the staff of doctors used to be consistent but then there seemed to be a quick turnover. The new doctors are subpar. I had lost one of my cats who had been a patient there for quite a while and when he passed, I didn't receive a card or anything from the office. Small thing but important for pet owners. A few weeks later my other cat all the sudden couldn't stand on one of her paws and kept falling over so I made a makeshift cast for it to help give it support. I took her to the vets the next day and the vet, I don't remember her name, but she was African American. She asked me if I made that cast and I said yes. She said you did a good job. She then informed me that my cat had Cancer. What? When did this happen? I was of course devastated especially after just losing my other cat just weeks before. She says just take her home. No ideas for care nothing. She hands me the cat back and I say aren't you going to wrap her leg up again to help her stand. She says it doesn't matter anyway. It won't make a difference. I said are you crazy would you not want the doctor to wrap your leg if you couldn't walk? So cold hearted. I was done !!! never went back. Went to another vet ASAP. Also, what kind of vet has poisonous flowers right outside their entrance to the office? Insane! STAY AWAY FROM HERE!
