I was…read moreplanning a destination bachelorette party several months ahead for my now sis-in-law, Tess T. Based on the business' description on this site, I contacted JJ who ran the show. She responded to me right away and worked out a custom painting-to-do, inspired by a couple I showed her through email. JJ either texted, emailed, or called me to make sure I had directions and confirm details. I was able to pay for the entire class in advance through their website. As soon as we arrived at her house, we were brought upstairs to her living area which was set up like a classroom with 7 easels, primed canvases, paint palettes, an assortment of about 8 brushes, paper towels, rinsing cups, practice paper, and an agreeable soundtrack. If we needed any additional paints or anything, we just had to ask. She provided paint t-shirts/smocks to some who were unprepared. I was able to comfortably change out of my dressy clothes into an old tee and sweatpants in her bathroom. At the front of the classroom, JJ showed us what to do on her own canvas accompanied by a flatscreen TV showing the painting from start to finish, step-by-step on loop. Her calming voice was just perfect for teaching the class. She would come around to give us help, personalized suggestions, and technique pointers. I learned a lot. Though most of us went off-road with our paintings, it was impressive that we were all inspired by the same subject. Also, though we brought a lot of snacks and spirits, most of us ended up too involved with our paintings. It seems that the best times we could have indulged are when we were waiting a few minutes for our paint to dry. If I lived closer, I would do this again and again with After 5 Art Party with JJ at the helm.

We drove into this cute community and were allowed to park in the garage. We were then escorted upstairs and immediately we felt like it was play time. Super cute set up with the tables set up like we were in a class surrounded by wall art made by JJ. Very cool with lots of inspiration to paint. Everything was all set up, all we had to do was listen to the instructions and have a good time. It was a very chill experience, the instructor wasn't pushy or overbearing at all. She pretty much guided us and let our creativity run wild. I learned so much and I totally want to do this again!

One thing that Sibley has got is a great golf course.. Now when I was 14 I was the talk of the town…read morefor sinking my dad's golf cart in the Sibley pit after playing a few holes! I would never live that one down! But the course in Sibley is great, always well manicured, and fun to play! There is some good long holes, some water, some sand, lots of trees and the greens are true! I used to love running up the #8 hole they called the Mound or fighting with my older sister as to who got to sit in the front seat of the cart! The country club is great too. Good spot for a wedding or a party! I loved getting Shirly Temples from the bar as a kid, and frozen Snickers bars! All in all this is a great spot to play a round of golf!

The restaurant area was a little dark. The food was very good and so were the drinks. I appreciated the fact that you could choose a smaller or a larger sized margarita. We went on a weekday during happy hour and it was not very busy at all. Overall, the vibe was cool & musical. The food was interesting and delicious. The server was attentive and we enjoyed our time here!

After not being told anything we played bingo for a short time and then I got a bingo and I was not allowed to win because of their odd rules. Then watched the crowd of regulars for the rest of the evening and then noticed the same people kept winning. So don't waste your time going there.

They were held at the Softail Saloon (Superior) and Mac's Top Hat (Estherville) respectively. On to #50 which was held last Saturday at this Elk's Club. Not as many Estherville Midget Class of 1974 friends were here than I would have liked, and sadly more had passed as we've aged. At the same time, we were among friends that happily picked up where we had left off. As I lingered, Gayle went off to sleep in the car, and even when I decided to leave (with many folks still talking), an old Jackson Browne song came to mind: "Oh won't you stay, just a little bit longer". And the OK buffet dinner was almost besides the point.

There were some unique holes. I didn't like how packed in the fairways were. You will easily end up in an adjacent fairway. The course was fairly well maintained. Lots of mature trees. Although (in my opinion) two of the stupidest (most difficult) holes I have ever played (7&12). Not many birdies made on these two. Probably not many pars either. Short fun course. Every year my friends from Des Moines are in town we play it at least one day. The four rating is for how nice the greens and fairways are. A lot harder courses in Sioux Falls that's for sure but it is nice.
