Sadly there is one of the members that I cannot recall his name so we will call him Capt. Ponytail that seems to think the American Legion is is his own private club. He literally detours people who do not live in the city of Perris from visiting. AL is for all veterans from everywhere. The leadership should have a word with him that he is not a member monitor and should never make veterans feel uncomfortable. But there is light at the end of the tunnel, across the street is a VFW that is very welcoming and even accepts people with AL cards.

It is very difficult to have consistency​ in your therapy​ when appointments​ are so limited with your counselor​. If you are a working individual or a student it makes it even more complicated. The guys at the front desk are polite and nice, but terrible at relaying​ messages; therefore is impossible to communicate directly with your counselor​ since you cannot have their email nor their direct line. I know these​ guys are overworked; they keep taking clients under very low staffing. I know low staffing is out​ of their control, but accepting more clients when they cannot keep up​ with the ones they have is not OK. I felt obligated to quit​ after having such a difficult time booking the ​appointment​​s and delaying my therapy; at times I felt worst having to relive it and dealing with it for two or three weeks until my next appointment​. I always felt in a rush, and not enough time to deal with all the mess in my head. They say many things that they cannot keep. Therefore, I felt, though their intentions might be honorable; they were more damaging​ to me than helpful​. But remember, everyone's experience is different.​

The back room that they rent for private parties is spacious. The tables they provide are well cared for and chairs provided are soft and comfortable. The full bar is a great highlight and they have a wide selection of beer and wine. The bar has the full compliment of both basic and premium choices for alcohol, there is a drink for every taste as well as the most popular sodas. My times here have always been enjoyable and they have a well kept smoking patio and multiple tvs throughout the establishment. All military Veterans are welcome here and if you rent their back room for your events the management here is truly fantastic.

Her team offered to help our planner clean up, she graciously accepted and then we were told they did all of the cleanup and therefore they were keeping our deposit. We were also told that we only purchased three drinks from the bar and they were forced to have a bartender there even though we did not ask for one. Make sure you read your contract and make sure that you take pictures, and do not accept any of their help or they will keep your deposit.

It's expensive and we were looking at money running out in the next couple years. So I was tasked w contacting, following up and completing the application thru Veterans Advocacy Associates. It was A LOT of info gathering, but well worth the additional benefit of $2200/month. Free money! Kurt guided me with the forms and documents I needed to gather and he finished the rest. It took me about a month to get everything together and Kurt an additional 2 weeks and the package was finally sent. And in another 2 weeks, he called and asked me to check the bank account. Voila! He said we got the max amount in the shortest amount of time in his experience. Yes, I possibly could have done this without their assistance, but they've done it before and knew the ropes. Sure, the help was free. But, in the end, we're getting financial assistance that we really didn't know existed or was available. For their efforts, we donated approx 70% of the first amount back to VAA for their time & help. Would def recommend Veterans Advocacy Associates!

I want to recognize that my assigned Veteran Service Officer has been helpful and willing to assist…read moreme. Unfortunately, my experience with another staff member, Oliver, has been consistently disappointing and has left me questioning the level of customer service veterans receive when contacting the office. While I was traveling, my assigned VSO provided me with his cell phone number and specifically instructed me to text him the following week for an update regarding my claim. I followed those instructions exactly. After sending multiple text messages and receiving no response, I called the office simply to verify that I had written down the correct phone number. Oliver answered the phone. I began explaining that my VSO had asked me to text him but I had not received a response and wanted to verify I had the correct number. Before I could even finish my sentence, Oliver interrupted me and said, "We don't do text messages. That's not our protocol. You have to come in if you want to see him." I explained that I was traveling, making an in-person visit impossible, and reiterated that I was only following the instructions my VSO had personally given me. Oliver again repeated that they do not do text messages and that I would have to come into the office. I then clarified that I was not asking him to provide me with a phone number. I simply wanted to read back the number my VSO had already given me so he could tell me whether I had copied it correctly. Oliver refused, again stating that I would have to come into the office. At no point did he attempt to help solve the problem. He did not offer to take a message for my VSO, ask for my contact information, let me know when my VSO might be available, or suggest any alternative way to communicate while I was traveling. Instead, I repeatedly received the same response: "You have to come in." Eventually, I asked why I felt like I was getting the runaround. I explained that I was simply following the instructions my VSO had given me and that repeatedly telling me "we don't do text messages" was not addressing my situation. I remained calm and respectful throughout the conversation, although I will admit my frustration became apparent after repeatedly being interrupted and denied any assistance. This is unfortunately the second interaction I have had with Oliver, and both experiences have been remarkably similar. He has consistently come across as abrupt, dismissive, and unwilling to listen before responding. Veterans often call because they need guidance, especially when circumstances prevent them from coming into the office. A few moments of active listening and a willingness to explore solutions can make a tremendous difference. My intention is not to criticize the entire Riverside County Veteran Service Office. I appreciate the work that many of the VSOs do on behalf of veterans. My hope is simply that this feedback helps improve the customer service experience, because every veteran deserves to feel heard, respected, and genuinely assisted when reaching out for help.

The other feature we enjoy are the included RV parking, the low HOA dues and you own the property. A recent investment has been a beautiful pickleball court. Fantastic! While we are not golfers, there is a gorgeous course. Lots of trees and greenery. All nestled between mountains and hills. Come and check it out.
