I had one of the ham sandwiches (boca jamon iberico), and it was actually quite good! The ham was a bit fatty, and they cut them up into these thin slices, but each bit even with the thin pieces of ham, was really rich because of the combination of the fattiness and strong flavor of the ham. This was one of those cases where a little bit really did go a long way. We were recommended to come to this shop by our tour guide. Apparently this shop is supposed to be pretty popular amongst the locals? It has a huuuuge selection of jamon (vacuum packed, freshly sliced, if you're up for an entire leg you can do that too) and you can also buy sandwiches here. My sister and I dropped into this shop in the afternoon to pick up some jamon iberico de bellota (acorn) after hearing so many good things about it. There was definitely a language barrier between us and the shop keeper but they were able to help us find what we wanted. We originally just wanted to get a few hand cut slices on the spot but we wound up getting the vacuum sealed kind to take back to our hotel to eat. Let me tell ya something- jamon iberico de bellota is the absolute bee's knees. Even my sister who isn't usually into cured meats was super into it. There's something about the flavor and the depth that is amazing. I highly recommend getting a pack to try out! Overall, I highly recommend coming by this store to check it out! I went there today and the lady that help me either had no knowledge or or straight faced lyed. I asked for jamon ibérico de bellota and she pointed to some 36 month aged ham , I said bellota and she said that was it . Nowhere in the label it said bellota and she told me that it was but they didnt label it because it was expensive to get he label ( how absurd ) If you actually raised cerdo ibérico de bellota you would label it since it's way more expensive to raise them eating bellota in open land . They are probably selling cebo for bellota to foreigners that don't know the difference . If you want good jamon ibérico de bellota go somewhere else . Pata negra doesn't mean anything to farmers that raise cerdo ibérico de bellota - some even paint there nails . Read the label before you buy , if it doesn't say bellota it's not and not eve close to the same quality . Very disappointed read more
