He would be performing a kindness for the local community by retiring. I retained Patrick Valencia in April 2018 to represent me in a criminal case. I had been accused of a crime by someone who raped me. I let Patrick Valencia know there was a strong mental health component to my case. I was unaware at the time that Santa Clara County had a mental health court, so when he claimed the best outcome was for me to plead to a felony, being inexperienced with the system I believed him and served three years' probation. The felony plea contributed in large part to my expulsion from University. Years later I was arrested for the same conduct concerning the same rapist and this time was represented by the Public Defender's Office at no charge to me. I received a much better outcome without having to spend $7500 on a retainer. I was granted mental health diversion and my charge was dismissed. I complained to the State Bar and Patrick Valencia, even after being notified I am aware of his misconduct, refuses to so much extend the courtesy of a refund even though he did NOTHING for me besides ruining my life. Not to mention, from serving three years' probation and being expelled from University I suffered massive financial losses. Thankfully a new law was passed, vacatur, where survivors of sexual violence can petition to have their rap sheet erased. But even so, nothing will repair the lost time and opportunities I suffered because of this shameful, incompetent rape apologist. Did I mention he screamed at me outside of the courtroom asking if I was a nasty woman? That's how he treats his clients. Steer clear from this firm. I was told I'd have my case dismissed easily at the initial meeting so paid 15k. After that each time I met with Mr.Ippolito he had forgotten almost all of the facts of my case and I had to explain everything to him over again. At my first court appearance I asked if he had met with the DA to try to get the case dismissed and he said yes. I inquired as to when they met and how long the meeting was and he said he spoke to her from the parking lot up to the court for five minutes. This was the effort I received for 15k. That's all he ever did. At the next appearance he told me to take a plea deal or I'd risk going to prison for 8 years even though it was obvious I was innocent. Again, he never discussed with the DA all of the facts of my case I had covered with him on numerous occasions. He just talked to her for a few minutes and made a deal so he wouldn't actually have to work. In addition to stealing my 15k, he had me give another 10k to his private investigator. He said she'd help him win the case. All she did was claim to knock on someone's door and said they wouldn't talk to her so she left. That's it. Another 10k down the drain. Do yourself a favor. If you need an attorney go elsewhere, unless of course you want to pay thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing but have a plea deal made. They aren't in the business of actually defending their clients. read more

These unethical scoundrels will ask you to make a large upfront payment and once they have your money you won't hear from them again. I was stressed and worried about spending time in jail due to a DUI and despite my calls and emails none of these three attorneys bothered to get back to me -- not ever a single time. I had high hopes when I retained Mr. Bowman. After talking with him during the initial consultation he put my mind at ease and offered a number of different strategies to help fight the case I was facing. As time went on and court dates passed I had a number of different times when I had questions for him. I would call and leave a message with his receptionist and wait a day or two.. no response. I would call and leave another message again... again days would pass... no response... Luckily these questions weren't pressing... but this case was far from over. As time went on he actually became LESS and LESS responsive even compared to what I just mentioned above. Soon I was calling him DAILY along with my MOTHER and FATHER... we ALL would speak to the receptionist who would refuse to give out Cameron's personal number while also assuring us he would get back to us "soon". It took, I am not kidding, 2-3 weeks sometimes just to get a response, and sometimes if he deemed it not important HE WOULDN'T respond at ALL. THE WORST OF ALL WAS WHEN I GOT A NEW CHARGE ON MY CASE AND TRIED CALLING (WITH MY FAMILY ALSO CALLING) FOR WEEKS TO LET HIM KNOW. HE SHOWED UP AT COURT AND ACTUALLY HAD THE AUDACITY TO LOOK ME IN THE EYE AND ASK WHY NO ONE LET HIM KNOW ABOUT THE NEW CHARGE!!! Needless to say at that point I fired him and retained a new attorney. I doubt I will ever get a penny of my money back. Let's just say the additional charge was minor compared to all the charges I was already facing and that I had already paid him $10,000 for. Cameron is the best for DV cases! I was falsely accused and arrested for domestic violence after I tried to initiate a divorce against my abusive wife. I originally went through my employers EAP program to supposedly get a better rate with the best attorneys. After providing evidence that my wife lied to police, my attorney said she will wait until after the arraignment to discuss with DA. That didn't seem aggressive enough, so I did my research and found great reviews on Cameron. I especially like how he was a DV focused DA for many years prior. I fired my original attorney and hired Cameron. He hired a PI to verify the exonerating evidence and he then had 3 separate conversations with the DA. He convinced the DA to not even file charges against me, which means my arrest was amended as a "detainment" only and I have no charges on my official record. If I had stayed with my original attorney none of that would have happened and who knows if she would have convinced the DA. Oh and he charged me significantly less that my passive original attorney. Cameron has the perfect experience with DV cases (hundreds and DA and as defense attorney) and knows how to connect and influence the DA. He is also very well organized and has a good assistant. My only improvement feedback would be for him to be a little more responsive. A few times I asked for a quick call via email or message with his assistant and got no response. I'm sure he is busy and other times he did respond, but maybe he could have his assistant call or email back with some response.
