A complete and total waste of money and time. Definitely a place that sells snake oil with no medical benefit. I was suffering from a chronic illness and was desperate for a cure. I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. Tina was extremely convincing and definitely played into my insecurities and took advantage of my desperation. I purchased the package of multiple visits which cost ~$700. During each visit, she would do this muscle strength test and gave me a whole list of herbal supplements to take, 6-8 of them, and they cost $40-$90 each. So I spent well over $1000 over the course of 1.5 months and did not feel anything or got any better. There are no medical evidence that this particular method of treatment works, I have done the research in major medical journals. In my Eating Disorder recovery, I was told to start seeing a Registered Dietician. I spoke to Jeannie and she told me that her title was the same as being a Registered Dietician and that she could help me. She had no idea what she was talking about, she initially told me to stick to 1200 calories a day and that chicken was bad for my blood type. She spent the entire appointment time talking about how people don't understand what she does. Pressing on my stomach and telling me I may need more zinc. No talk of re-feeding, limiting exercising, or recovery overshoot. Two of the machines that she used for my "exam" didn't work. At the end of my appointment, I had to correct her to tell her that people in ED Recovery really need to increase calories and that's what I needed, even if I really didn't want to gain weight. I also told her that I didn't want a plan that made me count calories, because that's counter productive to someone in my position. She sent me a diet plan, which after months of seeing a real RD, I know is terrible for someone in recovery. All fruits, veggies and proteins, which sounds great and healthy, but the point of recovery is for someone to eat ALL foods to help heal and make "unhealthy" foods less triggering. I cancelled my Results Appointment and asked for at least a partial refund - She told me no because she had already sent a preliminary meal sheet. $175 is a lot of money for someone who has to go to multiple appointments monthly with a real RD, therapist and doctor. I am so eternally grateful that I found Heidi Hoffman and Vibrant Living Wellness. I have battled GI issues my entire life. Every single symptom under the "IBS" sun, I've had. I had been to many different doctors throughout my life, did SIBO tests, did colonoscopies, took probiotics, was told to STOP taking probiotics, was told to start taking them again, etc. etc.! But the main issue of severe bloating and discomfort (among others that I don't really want to list on a public profile) persisted. And I mean SEVERE when I say severe. Like, "can't fit into my clothes, heart palpitating, cancel my plans for the night, go to bed miserable" severe. The closest I'd gotten to diagnosing myself was following a low-FODMAP elimination diet but it still wasn't enough and I knew I needed more. Heidi was the "more" I was looking for! It has been exactly three months since I first started my elimination diet journey with Heidi and I feel completely different. It is a lot of work! For the first two or so weeks, my bloating actually worsened and I was so disappointed. And I got through it! I came out the other side feeling fantastic. A fun, unexpected benefit was a weight loss of about 5 lbs, which I guess was just "inflammation weight" I had been carrying! I feel lighter (not from just the lbs lost but from no longer feeling HEAVY after eating meals - something I literally battled my entire life), I feel healthier, I feel more energized, and most of all I feel like this part of my life is finally under my control. I ate something with an inflammatory ingredient the other night by accident and the bloating came back, but it wasn't nearly as severe as usual and, this time around, I knew exactly what to take in order to ease it. This is completely ineffective for anyone with an actual health disorder or serious condition. They call it "clinical nutrition," but there was nothing clinical about my visits. I wasted a bunch of time and money, told to avoid coffee and soy based on muscle testing (which is common sense and I already avoid), and was handed hundreds of dollars worth of supplements to take. After 2 weeks of taking over 10 pills/day of expensive vitamins, I felt sicker than I did upon going. I had severe stomach pain that kept me up all night. So Jeannie, the practitioner, told me to stop taking all of the supplements I had just bought all together. According to their method, the muscle testing is supposed to ensure my body will respond well to what they give me. Since the muscle testing is inaccurate, it makes an experiment out of patients rather than finding real results. I have been to many doctors and holistic practitioners, and voiced early on during my visits that I would prefer getting tests for thyroid, adrenals, and toxicity rather than guessing. Along with ignoring my requests, they refused to refund me for services that left me feeling more sick and would not look at the bloodwork I had forwarded to them. Working for more than 40 years in hospitals, I naturally sought out treatment from my physicians, practitioners of modern medicine. Taking artificial products like simethicone and polyethylene glycol, at first, eased symptoms, but because these products do not treat the cause, my symptoms got worse to the point of limiting my physically activity in addition to more discomfort. When a dermatologist and an allergist can only suggest steroids, and both say "about once a year I get an unusual case of dermatitis that has no explanation and you are it this year" then it's time to see Heidi at Vibrant Living in Sierra Madre. That's what happened to me. She recommended a cleanse diet that ended the dermatitis. Last time I met with her I had a dermatitis relapse and didn't know why. Her technique told her it was related to fruit sugar, but I didn't see how the little amount of fruit I have been eating regularly could have all of a sudden caused dermatitis. Where do I begin? Ok from the beginning. This winter (2015/2016) my youngest son started experiencing extremely painful stomach aches out of the blue. He would double over in pain and cry. We took him to urgent care and he was diagnosed with painful gas and sent home. The pain continued sporadically for weeks and was so bad one night, my husband rushed him to the ER late at night. After blood work and some sort of imaging and cultures, the Diagnosis again was painful gas. They couldn't find anything really wrong and suggested medications to deal with gas. The pain continued sporadically again for weeks. We tried tummy-massage, warm "hot waster" bottles, distraction-techniques, motivational talks, all the rest. It was horrible to see my son in such agonizing pain when an episode would strike him. We felt powerless. I absolutely love Dr. Tina. I have seen a few naturepaths and I really like her techniques. She is able to test your major organs to find out where your weak points are and suggest what supplements to take in order to help heal them.
