We ordered a few things. Spicy Tuna Tartare: wasn't spicy, didn't taste fresh which wasn't a deterrent to me as this isn't a seafood restaurant or fine dining. Next time I'd pass on that. Bavarian Pretzel: amazing. Very tasty. Came out nice and hot. That rarebit cheese sauce? Oh honey that can come home with me anytime. Absolutely delicious. And this is coming from someone who hates that fake cheese, cheese whiz type taste. Margherita Pizza: didn't come out hot which is probably why I wasn't a fan of it. It was pretty mediocre for such a basic pizza. And the food didn't come out all together, so not sure why that didn't come out hot. Wings and waffles: Tasty buffalo wings. The waffles actually taste like funnel cake which was a nice surprise. THEN. The burger came out and that is why this review dropped. It had a small hair on the side of the plate and a closer look at the rest of the plate, you'll see a long hair on the pickle. That was disappointing but happy to have tried the place nonetheless.

The Roosevelt is a themed restaurant, lounge, and speakeasy inspired by... you guessed it,…read morePresident FDR. For those who aren't history junkies, FDR ran on a platform calling for the repeal of the 18th amendment, Prohibition. During the Prohibition Era, speakeasies (hidden drinking establishments) popped up left and right due to the nationwide ban on alcohol sales, consumption, production, importation, and transportation. After his presidential victory, the 21st Amendment, ratified on December 5, 1933, officially repealed Prohibition. The restaurant's name is a celebration of FDR's repeal and how it impacted the American hospitality industry and economy as a whole. The interior is meant to transport customers back to the roaring twenties. Think flappers, The Great Gatsby, dim lighting, black/gold/burgundy colors, plush chairs, geometric wall patterns, vintage chandeliers, mosaic tiled floors, etc. There's four "sections" of the restaurant to dine in, each with a different vibe. *Lucy's Parlor - A hidden speakeasy named after FDR's mistress. This is my favorite space. They really went creative with the wall decor! There's black and white photos of Prohibition protests, as well as excerpts from love letters exchanged between FDR and Lucy. There's a small bar and a good amount of seating. Sophisticated, sexy vibe. *The Hide Out - A private and intimate dining space for a group of 4-6 people. You get special attention from the Executive Chef. They offer two seatings per night by reservation. *The Saloon - One of the main dining areas, complete with a large bar, high top tables, a fireplace, a vintage piano, and flat screen tvs. *The Dining Room - A formal dining area for private events and parties. It has a mahogany bar, skylights, and LED lighting. The drinks and food? Of COURSE they're on par with the theme. Most of the menu is elevated bar food, but they also have steak, pork chop, and seafood options. They have Happy Hour every day - all day on Wed & Sun and twice a day from Thursday-Saturday! DJs on the weekend. They even have a Sunday brunch! I've only had drinks, so can't speak on the food yet. I've tried... *Roosevelt Side Car (Courvoisier VSOP, Cointreau, syrup, and lemon juice with a sugared rim) $15 - Definitely a strong drink with a sour aftertaste! Not my favorite. *The Bee's Knees (Hendricks Gin, St-Germain, lemon juice, and honey topped with rose water) $15 - Refreshing, bright flavor and definitely on the sweeter side, but I loved it. Whether you want to sip on creative cocktails, book a private event, or enjoy a dinner meal, The Roosevelt is worth a visit.

We were one of the first parties to walk in, the host took us to our table right away. I was mezmerized by the gorgeous interior, art and decor of the place. They have a huge full service bar as well. The menu had few choices in each of the sections of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, salad and entrees. I ordered the bulgogi tacos from the appetizers section, that came with 2 tacos filled with slices of flavorful bulgogi steak, topped with some pickled carrots and cabbage. For entree I got the NY strip melt sandwich. Again the sandwich was filled with delicious steak pieces, caramelized onions, cheese and aioli. The bread they used was really fluffy and thick, but I was glad it was the soft brioche kind. The seared salmon was cooked perfectly with beautiful char all around. Loved the virgin pomelo drink so much, I got two of them. The service was good overall. Our server was friendly and did a good job attending multiple tables simultaneously, including ours. The dishes came out within decent intervals. Overall we loved the lunch experience, and look forward to returning again in future to try some of their other dishes.

Decided to try the fish and chips today and the fish were really bad. I guess technically edible. Not going to kill me, but not appetizing at all. To add insult to injury, they don't serve it with tartar sauce. How do you serve fish and chips without tartar sauce? I think they have potential, but really need to try harder. Especially with consistency. I don't hate them, but I definitely don't love them.

One section is garden inspired and the other section has more of a club feel. Our waiter was friendly and provided great recommendations. (Plus some spicy peppers for us to try, bit much for my palate) We ordered a lot of food. One of my friends really enjoyed the beef soup, the cucumber salad was pretty much sliced cucumbers, the yogurt dip was fresh and tasty, and the Bulgarian salad was a hit with great pieces of feta. The Deja Vu grilled platter for two was outstanding! So much delicious variety of meats! We added a skirt steak that my friend wanted, plus the pork and beef patties in Marsala sauce, and the white bean casserole. The bean and Marsala dishes were excellent! It was a struggle but we finished all of the meat! Definitely look forward to returning!

I really loved both dishes - the quality of the squid was excellent and the flatbread was so flavorful with the olives! For my main dishes, I got the sofra for 2 and shish kebabs - there was so much delicious and tender meat My sweet cocktails, the strawberry margarita and blue hugo, were both vibrant and strong which matched the floral and colorful vibes perfectly! When I told my mom where we were going her reaction- "omg that place is still around?!? It use to be excellent back in the day!" Well I am happy to report this place is just as good today as it was during my mother's heyday. I decided to get a few oysters and clams to start off with and everything was just so fresh. As an entree the Seafood in a spicy red sauce was easily one of the best I have had in a very long time. There was a generous amount of seafood within the dish, the sauce I swear I could just drink it out of a cup and the pasta was cooked perfectly. My husband got the bbq ribs which I didn't try but you could see how they just slid right off the bone and he couldn't stop talking about how good they were. We ended our meal with some strong espresso. I enjoyed how it is a very casual atmosphere with a nice bar area that had a few TVs to watch some sports games. No need to dress to impress. The service was a little bit on the slower side but the waitress was very nice. The man who brought out my oysters, I asked him which were the east coast and which where in the west coast oysters, along with asking him where in the west coast my oysters were from and he couldn't tell me. I just think a place should just know these things is they are selling them. Nonetheless we still really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to return.

The Jersey Shore restaurants will always have an advantage when it comes to seafood because of location. North Jersey offers a diverse, high-quality seafood scene, ranging from upscale Mediterranean-style fish markets to casual, beloved neighborhood spots. Situated less than 2.5 miles from MetLife Stadium, Biggie's has been a neighborhood institution located off of Route 17 South in Carlstadt and is best known for its clams-on-the-half-shell and wide selection of beers on tap. My partner, our friends, and I have been to this family-owned establishment numerous times and decided to have dinner last night. The reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon entering this casual vibe, we were greeted by the host. There is a lively sports bar side full of TVs and a dining room side, where we got a booth immediately by the window. Their menu has a wide array of options, rivaled only by the countless photographs and mementos that fill nearly every inch of wall space. There are many sandwiches, a half-dozen salads, thin-crust pizzas, and a substantial range of pastas. For starters, we decided on two dozen East Coast oysters on a half shell and Steamed Mussels with white wine butter broth. A side of Italian bread was brought for dipping. As a main meal, we opted for the Turkey Chili, Baby Back Ribs, Fried Calamari, Caesar salad, and Fries. The food was excellent and delicious, using the freshest ingredients. The portions were healthy. The staff went out of their way to make one feel welcome, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Our server was Hadiyah. The price was reasonable. The Garden State's seafood scene is a testament to the state's rich maritime heritage, offering something for every palate, whether one's a regular or a first-timer. This is why people keep coming back week after week.

The odd thing about the current location: as you walk in it seems like a lot of the shelves are kind of empty ("Hey, maybe they're going out of business?") but then you start to take a slow stroll down the aisles and realize they have a ridiculous amount of (quality) stuff. Beers, wines, and liqueurs that you probably haven't seen or heard of before. The pricing is on par for competing liquor stores. They have a (awkward) parking lot which can be a lifesaver in this part of town. If you forced me to Sophie's Choice I'd say Rutherford Wine Shoppe is the overall better place (I mean... Mason's opening an hour later than RWS is the sole reason I don't get over this way that much) but Mason's is a damn fine spot for sure. Na zdrowie!
