Today, on New Years Eve, I checked the hours before going there and it said they close at 8:00pm today. I arrived a few minutes before 8:00pm, where there was an employee helping other customers checkout and exit. He refused to let me in, and when I asked why, he said he "closed the registers" (early). This person identified himself as the manager, and said his name is Sam. A wine and liquor store, on NYE of all days, closing early is beyond my understanding. If you wanted to close earlier, update your hours to reflect that, but don't help other customers before closing and then refuse another customer who is also there. Now we'll be without champagne and more this New Years Eve. We'll never shop here again, unless/until I hear from the business about this.

Joe will point you in the direction of smaller vineyards that are more interesting and a much better value. Joe also knows his customers - and he listens to your feedback. We moved to Connecticut two years ago, and it wasn't more than a few weeks before Joe knew exactly what my preferences were, and began recommending wines that he knew I'd like - and he is spot on every time. I've tried a lot of bottles that I wouldn't have otherwise - definitely more fun than drinking the same 3 or 4 brands all the time. Here's the thing though: Joe actually tries the wine he recommends.
