I passed it all good But when I got to the part where I had to take my practice driving text was horrible First off, I was under the impression that I'm driving in my subdivision, not all the way in New Orleans or wherever we were I know it was not my neighborhood at least that's what was on the paper that I signed my name on so that made me uncomfortable and then I'm driving for a full four hours with no brakes so at this point, my legs are falling asleep Just tiring also my driving instructor was very disrupting He was on the phone the whole time wha tapping his feet on the ground And I was practically running errands I don't know don't sound too professional And also, they call at last minute I was on vacation when they called so I had to pay a $50 reschedule fee. I paid that then I showed up to the practice test Not to mention at the end of the practice test, the paper that's supposed to tell me what I did wrong what I need to fix and all of that was just blank Nothing on it then a couple days later they schedule my actual driving test. I show up one minute late and my driving instructor is already gone now they want me to pay $75 Do they really think people are made out of money? Like I paid 550 starting then another 50 Now they want 75 Like common i'm broke I'm just trying to get my drivers license it shouldn't be this hard Very unorganized !! On the whole my experience with Victor Manning was ok, the majority of instructors are professional, knowledgeable, and treat their students respectfully. Now I say the majority because 1 instructor in particular should arguebly be fired. The instructor in question is named Logan, why this manlit has continued to work for victor manning is nothing short of mind boggling. As my first instructor for one of my 2 lessions his bahavior was abhorrent. To start, he didn't : 1.Familiarize me with the vehicle, 2.Make sure I had anything adjusted properly, 3.Treated my questions as an inconvenience to answer, 3.Wasn't road aware instead preferring to brows instagram or pinterest, 4.Put me on the interstate in under 2 hours with 0 prior instruction, 5.Had me drive him around so he could run errands, 6.took multiple "vape breaks", 7. During lunch he had me drive to a stripmall area that only had a few options non considered cheap and why, he wanted to go to starbucks, 8. to top it all off he apparently trash talked me in his student review because I was a "bad driver"....I could go into further detail but I'm sure you get the idea. In contrast my 2nd instructor, Freddy, was fantastic. He took time to do everything Logan wouldn't, listened and aswered any and all questions I had, and took his job seriously. Freddy also had creative teaching methods to help me get a better handle on driving. In closing, if it wasn't for freddy this review would be a 1 star. While my experience with Freddy was great, Logan makes anything aside from 2 stars impossible. read more

Secretaries speak low and aren't too helpful. However, Freddie was a great teacher and works really well with the teens. Fourth day of driving we found out my son had Calvin as his instructor. Now if you go by the reviews you'd be very cautious and protective of your child, that was myself. My son read all the bad and was having bad anxiety having him, almost to the point of not wanting to go. Calvin arrived and we were a bit worried, BUT I told my son give him a chance. He's so glad he did! He learned so much from him and he was so helpful to him. Always be the judge for yourself, I'm glad we did and are thankful to Calvin. read more

The class helped me understand most of everything for the road, Freddi was my teacher and driving instructor the first three days. Freddi was fun, but I honestly did not learn much more with him. On the fourth and last day I had Calvin who was great! He did not yell and stayed calm the whole time. He taught me more than I learned the whole time with Freddi in the span of two hours. I paid a $50 non-refundable deposit for my son to take a driving class that started in about a week. After paying the non-refundable deposit, I received an email stating that there was a 90 day waiting list to take the behind-the-wheel portion of the class. Nowhere on the website does it state this and I was not notified when I called to schedule the class. I thought my son would be able to get a learners permit within a few weeks through Victor Manning but in reality it would take several months. I'm going to try disputing with my credit card but failing that, I'll have to eat the $50 loss and get my son into another school that can train him in a timely fashion. read more

My writing test class was O.K. My teacher was a "tell you once and not going to repeat myself" type of teacher. But on the other hand Freddy was an amazing driving instructor. I don't LIE Frank! It's one of my biggest PET PEAVES! I DID call and complain especially about Calvin and that's why my minor child never got him again. I also expressed my dissatisfaction with my daughter having to drive more than once with the windows rolled down and the instructor said THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AVAILABLE!! A 15 or 16 year old is probably NOT going to complain to an adult unless it's their own parents, especially if they're kind of shy or not outspoken to begin with. She's a great kid and probably didn't want to tell me about her experience because she doesn't want to upset anyone but it doesn't matter because a MOTHER KNOWS when her child is upset no matter how hard they try to hide it. Five stars for instructors Justin and Freddy. Zero stars for the rest of the place. The building itself is an absolute hole. But the worst part is trying to get in touch with someone. If you have a question or need to schedule something, give yourself many weeks. It will take approximately 20 voicemails and 10 emails before someone will get back to you. Maybe. Once I had to drive over there and ask my question in person. The lady at the front desk was chatting with a friend and there was no one else in the building. Not sure why she wasn't answering the phone or emails. The lady who administered my daughter's driving test was curt, unfriendly, and grumpy, making my already nervous daughter even more nervous. The classroom portion is subpar to say the least. I don't see why I paid $450+ to watch outdated driving videos when I could have gone on youtube and watched the same thing for FREE. Another thing VM conveniently forgets to mention is that there a HUGE backlog for the behind the wheel portion of the course. You don't find this out until after you have paid in full for the course. So disorganized. I went to take an extra lesson with Mr. Freddy. Mr.Freddy is the hands down best instructor in that driving school. He is so informative and so very patient. He always made sure to give us confidence as we drive. Safe and slow and then you go! Claudia is a sweet woman but not a great instructor. Just talked about herself. Calvin was a complete ass. Kept calling me baby, honey, sweetie and told me i would never be able to drive as it was my first day of class. He was also sexist. When i was getting driven home by another male student, Calvin said he drove so well and why i couldn't drive like him. Again it was my first day. Please I stress this so much. Always ask for Mr.Freddy! He was the best instructor and actually teaches you the and stresses the importance of being safe. And Mr.Manuel is the best tester there. If you can, ask for him. (That woman deserves a NEGATIVE five) and She's DEFINITELY NOT a person who should be trusted to teach people how to drive a vehicle, because mis-instruction can easily become a lethal experience the first time out for a new driver.  The first gentleman gave good instruction, was very thorough and if there was something my daughter did wrong, or if entering a dangerous situation, he calmly instructed her to pull over safely to explain what could have been done better or to explain what to expect in the upcoming "tricky", confusing or scary road conditions ahead. He gave positive feedback when appropriate and gave equally appropriate corrective and/or expectative instruction when necessary. She drove from the facility on the I-10 Service Rd next to Clearview Mall to the Lakefront in and around that area and back. There was only a few times on the way such instructions was necessary for her first Instructor to trust that my daughter was capable to drive in more challenging situations. Under his tutalage she did extremely well and required less and less instructions to complete the day with only two things to work on.  On the second day, she was expecting to be taught those two things she was told that she needed extra practice in order to be ready to take the road test. However there was no such luck. Our expectations turned into a nightmare of an experience that no other new drivers, or parents, should ever have to experience. In fact, being that a Driver's Education Facility is a trusted agent of our State Government, it seems almost criminal what happened the next day. Overall our experience was good! The class room instruction was very good and informative! However the receptionist lacks the skills to deal with the public in an effective, efficient and knowledgable manner! We had two occasions where we were scheduled for driving hours and no one showed up and no one called. On our final visit, we us to return four times because the receptionist failed to tell us what we needed to take the final test! All while noting that it was in our paperwork, while I agree the info was there, wouldn't it have been prudent to let us know EXACTLY what was needed!! I thought the instructors here were awesome. My daughter and I had aways talked about sending her to this school as we have seen so many kids go here and graduate. I really appreciated the fact that they discussed police encounter safety and how to change a tire and check your oil. Jerry the owner was a very nice man. He is in law enforcement and you can really tell he cares alot about what he is doing. In conclusion, i would say dont go anywhere else. If I could give it 0 stars I would! Absolutely horrible service!!!! We came for the third party driving at 9 am then 2 hours later we are still waiting and when we asked what's the hold up they only had one instructor and they told us we were supposed to sign the sign up sheet twice but the lady working never told me to sign twice. Once I signed once she handed me the application and that was it. She waited 2 hours to tell me to sign again. Why is there only one instructor when there are 7 other people here. It takes about 45 minutes for each person. Absolutely horrible!! I'm so glad I didn't come here for the actual schooling! Louisiana just wants peoples money! It's a huge scam! UPDATE: so after this whole incident the instructor gave me an attitude the entire time that I'm driving. Plus she's very low and bad at giving me the directions! I end up failing lol so we tell them that you only failed me because of this incident so I get retested with another instructor after another hour of wait and GUESS WHAT I pass! My daughter took driving lessons from them and her first instructor actually came to me to tell me how great my daughter was. Darrel was his name, he was so nice and a great teacher my daughter loved him. He said how she really was a good driver that she was very good on the interstate. So she goes back next time and had one of the worst people on planet earth. Yelling at her making her so scared to do anything wrong. He was so condescending and a real fu##ing Jerk. I selected Victor Manning Driving School because of the reputation I had learned about this business over the past 50 + years. My son was about to begin driving and I was under the impression I was going with the best driving company in the city. I learned that my perception and belief of Victor Manning Driving School being the very best,was very wrong. I entered the Manning office in Metairie with my son and found many people waiting to decide on their selection of driving school offerings. When I finally worked my way to the reception desk, I had to ask the lady at the desk if this is where I could get information on the driving lessons. While she was not in any way rude, she was basically robotic in telling me the fee and the hours involved. She did not at any time ask for my business or offer any reason why I should use Victor Manning ......... basically, it was as if they were the only game in town and I could pay the fee or just move on ! I would assume that when you bring your teenage son or daughter into a driving school, that the people would know that the parent has concerns and needs questions answered. None of that type of interaction was about to happen. AGAIN, the lady was not rude......... she was just robotic and had her receipt book in hand to wrote a receipt ..........thats it. Because my son was eager and very excited to get the driving lessons started, I was not about to say ...........lets look into another driving school....SO, I simply paid and left the office. My son completed the driving written part of the process and scored in the 90's................. the next step was the actual driving a vehicle. I took my son to the Victor Manning School on Monday ( Manning office closed ) to meet a driving instructor that would take my son on his first driving lesson. The driver was late or the instructor and the office was locked. I might add, that the instructor did not offer any completion times or information about the lesson. As a matter of fact, the instructor did not even say a word to me. I later in the day picked up my son and I once again followed the same schedule the next day. I went into the Manning office on the second day and asked if I could buy additional driving time in order to allow my son to have a more comfortable feel for driving .....prior to going to the DMV. The same receptionist lady, was at the desk. I paid my balance of $ 200.00 and she informed me that it would be well into the end of the month or the first of the following and that the 4 hour driving would cost me an additional $200.00 for that 4 hours. While attempting to pay my balance, it took nearly 20 minutes for the receptionist to collect my money on a credit card, because their phone kept ringing and cutting off the credit card connection............. this was yet another negative in my perception of Victor Manning. While all this may seem gibberish and possibly just an angry customer, I can assure you that it is not often that I write these type letters. My feeling is simple, I don't care to have any company taking my business for granted or just because they think I have no other option. In conclusion, the Victor Manning driving school is very unorganized and lacks positive professional interaction with it's clients. When I looked at the other review on YELP, I clearly knew that I had picked the wrong company. Victor Manning is clearly OVERPRICED and I experienced that myself, when I explored the world of Driving Lessons. If the instructors are not certified as the other customer says in his/her YELP report, is an issue I have not explored. In summary, this is a business that has clearly lost its cutting edge. In years of the past, Victor Manning was the best of the best. I have found other driving schools that offer schedules that will work with a teen's school and other activities and I might add that the fee is $ 100 less that Victor Manning. While I have been subjected to poor service, ineffective drive time offerings and more. Check out ALL the other companies to see their offers and be sure that they will work with and help to accomplish the goal of a drivers license. Both my parents and I had our written driving test lessons, the 8 hour behind the wheel lessons as well as the third party driving tests here. Overall, the classroom experience and the behind the wheel lessons were pretty good for all three of us. I had a middle-aged man for my third party driving test who was super supportive and friendly which I really appreciated as someone who was feeling super nervous about the test. I had no problem passing! But for my parents, they had a woman called Daphne who YELLED at my parents. Both of my parents had plenty of driving experiences drove (3 decades+) but Daphne managed to somehow fail my mum just after 2 minutes into the test. Both of my parents expressed how unhappy they were to get tested by someone who literally YELLED at them. If you can avoid that lady. read more
