It's got two pools, but when I went, the children's pool and the skate park were closed, leaving only the regular pool open. They've got showers and lockers, all of which were clean and functional. They had lifeguards on duty, who were attentive, and on the ball. There's a lane for lap swimming, but they don't put out the flags signalling the end of the lane, so you don't run into the wall. They jam out to Jimmy Buffet songs over the loudspeakers, and the vibe is laid back. The pool was clean, and the chemicals were in balance so it didn't burn or anything. They have two diving boards, but when I went, they were closed too. When I went, admission was $5, which was worth the visit! The pool wasn't crowded on a weekday afternoon, and I almost had the deep end to myself! Parking is easy with a large lot that backs up to the terminus of the nature trails that go out to Business 35.

A HUGE pool for the little ones that our 4 year olds were able to stand in the entire time, lots of fun fountains, sprayers, slides etc., which was so much fun for us adults as well. A pool with 2 diving boards which includes a high dive, and a really fun rope net that goes from one side to the other to swing from. And a pool with 3 water slides! I'm telling ya, this place ROCKS!!! The staff were all friendly, bathrooms were pretty clean, plenty of lifeguards, concessions and very reasonably priced at $5 per adult and $4 per child. Can't wait to go back!

There are lots of seating around the pool, making it easy to spend a few hours there with family or friends. The park also has restrooms, a water fountain/refill station, and lifeguards on duty, which made the experience feel safe and well-maintained. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend arriving earlier in the day since it can get busy. Overall, it's a great free community pool with something for everyone, and I'll definitely be back!

All outdoor public swimming pools run by the city are free to all, open six days a week throughout the summer swimming season, and follow very similar rules and protocol. This review will focus on Roosevelt Swimming Pool and what sets it apart from other city swimming pools. As with most city pools, you are required to sign in at the front desk with name, age group, and gender. These roles help the parks department obtain funding to continue operation of the pools, so it is very important to sign in. Roosevelt Pool is a throwpack to 1950's pool design. Larger than most city pools, Roosevelt also is kidney shaped with several rows of concrete bleachers. This is one of the more popular pools and there are always dozens of people in the water, especially at the shallow end. It can get very crowded in the shallow area on weekends and holidays. The depth ranges from 3ft to about 10ft. There is usually ample room for swimming laps although the pool sides in the deep end can become crowded with teenagers, and we all know how they can be. Although it is a bigger pool, parking is limited, and you may find yourself waiting or walking up a stretch of hill to the entrance. There are male and female changing rooms that double as bathrooms. Roosevelt Pool is feeling its age, and you will want to be careful not to cut yourself on the rough cracks on the walls and floor of the pool. They hurt! The pool has a small waterslide for the kids, but they rarely open it up all season. Not sure why, but they just don't seem to like to. The manager for this pool is not the friendliest, and that attitude is passed along to the lifeguards who can be surly but are generally nice. Fruit and water are allowed in the pool area, but no other food. They have hourly or bi-hourly breaks for pH leveling, and you will spend between 20-30 minutes of time out of the water per break. The concrete can be very hot and shade is limited.

I came with my family and there just happened to be random sounds of thunder. It is completely understandable that we had to wait 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder to enter the facilities. However, the way the teenage lifeguards spoke to us was so utterly disrespectful, but whatever...that was no problem at first. We hung out by the lake for about an hour and a half playing and listening to music. Meanwhile all the lifeguards were screaming, laughing, listening to music and lounging by the pool sunbathing because it was clear and sunny by now. We timed it and waited 30 minutes after the last thunder sound to go ask if we could go in. They told us the last sound was one minute ago. Uh what? Okay... As we were leaving, I decided to check if they had a number I could have to call and ask if the pool is open. I was banging on the gate yelling HELLO! HELLO! Even though they were right by the gate, they couldn't hear me over their laughing. After awhile, they looked back over their shoulder and utter "Yeah?" I asked 'Could I speak to someone face to face please?' And they didn't even move and said "what?" I was appalled and so disgusting by their attitude. I see this behavior in my high school classes, but if these are lifeguards representing the community we pay to be apart of, I never want to go back again. My 6-year-old son even looked at me and said 'They are not very nice, right?' Pahh!!

They did not have the decency to inform the parents and give them the option of not attending the private swim lessons. They argued that they were not obligated to tell us until the results were positive, but the descent thing to do would be to let us know there was a risk and give us a choice. It turns out that at least two guards have COVID-19 and our whole family has been exposed because of their dishonesty. Also, don't expect to receive the full allotted lesson time because they routinely cut it short for popsicles and going down the slide.

Float's are allowed even though website says otherwise I seen so many the past few times going. When you get there , there is a pool you'll visibly see but as you walk further down you'll see the very BIG spring/river fed swimming pool. If you bring things it has to be in a cooler, no glass, no styrofoam and there is a no tolerance rule on alcohol they will absolutely kick you out, no refunds. We brought a wagon (seen parents with strollers) and a small cooler for food and things. (Sodas, veggie tray, fruit, snacks) the workers WILL CHECK COOLERS so be weary! If you get there early there will be picnic tables available, you can also bring folding chairs and tables, if you don't bring either they allow quilted or picnic blanket. Please also know the water is EXTREMELY cold, 63 degrees, so if you bring little children I would recommend going to the kitty area that doesn't fully submerge them and that is tolerable. Life guards are everywhere so no worries there. The slide is also not there anymore but for a bit older kids there is a something they can swing off of that you'll pass when coming in. There's really something for all ages. THE WATER IS CLEAN!
