It's incredible when you think how these beans are roasted and then shipped halfway across the world in order to make it to your cup. We contacted Alex to set up a time to sample some pourovers. It was great to hear his heart and how he came to be at District. We were grateful for the stories of him partnering to empower roasters from Costa Rica, Salvador, and other places. Every type of roast has a story behind it. Not to mention that he is able to supply us ground beans at a good price. Also impressed with his service and care for us as customers. Please support our local District Roasters! They are amazing.

Given that weve had to give up so much in the coffee drinking experience we try and get what we do consume to taste as fresh as possible so weve turned to getting our decaf beans roasted locally. Weve tried a couple of places in Houston and just recently came across District Coffee. Once we checked their website and made sure it was swiss water processed and not bathed in paint stripper chemicals we decided to give them a try... the head roaster Alex is a humble guy who has a family operated business near the 249/Cypress area. I drove out to the District headquarters to pick up a pound of decaf and Alex gave me a tour around the facility which was modest, but professional. Before i left, Alex asked about the reason for decaf and i explained that we mix it with regular to create a half caff blend and with that he walked over to a bin in the shop and pulled out an additional bag of whole bean half caff blend of their signature roast and said it was "on the house" since i had come all the way out from the Sugar Land area. Wow. Now that was unexpected and also very nice considering gas costs near four bucks these days. We just had a pour over cup of that this morning and it was very, very smooth. If the regular whole bean decaf is anywhere close to the smoothness of this signature half caff roast we will most likely add District coffee to our regular rotation of coffees for our morning routine. Thanks Alex. Good luck to you and your family and we'll spread the word about your brand. Take care.

Great place to buy green (un-roasted) coffee beans. Large selection and friendly service…read more Although they sell to professional roasters and coffee shops, they also cater to the little guys like me who do it for fun (and attempt to save some money in the long run). As expected though, the larger your order is per pound, the more you'll save (I.e 50 lb bag is way cheaper than a 1 lb bag). It'll make sense to buy in bulk and find friends/family who would want to split with you to save money. Location is in the middle of nowhere, but it makes sense since it's mostly a warehouse with a small reception area. Although you can purchase online, I like to browse in person and try whatever sample(s) they are offering that day. The bags they sell in the reception area are just some of their offerings. Check out their website for a complete list. The receptionist was kindly able to grab a small bag of the beans from the warehouse that I requested. The roasted beans that they offer oddly have the expiration date rather than roast date. This is surprising to me because the roast date dramatically affect the quality of espressos. For espressos, I recommend sticking with green beans and roasting yourself. They offer tasting classes for a fee, but not all the time. Check out their website for available class dates. Receptionist was very nice, helpful, and friendly. She was still very new at her role and was learning about coffee and beans from the beginning. Best of luck to her caffeinated journey!

They offer some yummy treats as well as sandwiches. You can also sign up for their reward program and earn points every time you come in. There is music on Saturdays and just a great meet up spot. The down side is the seating, backless stools are not the most comfortable. I saw someone on crutches that had a hard time getting up on one. Maybe it is to stop people from staying all day and working? I am not sure. There used to be a couch in there and that was nice to just sit and visit. There is also an outdoor area with picnic tables and chairs outside at tables (with backs on them!) They roast their own beans and every time I have had a coffee it was perfect. The location is a little weird, wish there was one in town but, worth it for sure!

After a morning filled with calls, I asked Melody, the manager, for their strongest cold brew, and she generously hooked me up with a potent cup of liquid energy masquerading as coffee!! Since then, I've become a loyal regular, drawn back time and again by the magic of this hidden gem. I adore this charming little spot, with its inviting atmosphere that's perfect for lingering over a cup or simply soaking up the laid-back vibe. Fellow coffee lovers, you're in for a treat! The coffee is exceptional, and the sandwiches look absolutely divine. If you get a chance to swing by and sample their expertly crafted hot or cold brews, I highly recommend it - you'll be uplifted and inspired!!
