This place was lovely, the employees are so nice and the selection of food and drinks is quite decent. We stopped here on the way to Austin. I got an olive oil cake with orange glaze and it was sooo yum. I ordered a lavender coffee which was pretty good. Theres plenty of seating inside and it looks like most things are made fresh! Restrooms are also clean!!

pretty average coffee shop, but make it aesthetic. It's not too bad maybe I'll have to try a bit more.

Drove here a long with 2 friends on route to Houston for brunch. Caprese - fresh, flavorful and rich in ingredients. Pesto is extremely creamy and will definitely satisfy the belly. Turkey - generous portions of turkey meat. The turkey was succulent and the flavor blended well with the rest of the ingredients. The multiple flavors did not overpower the overall taste of the sandwich. Coffee was also on point. We love visiting local coffee shops and not the run of the mill Starbucks. Definitely recommend.

I've seen this place on my drive to Austin multiple times and I decided to stop this time around. A cute and very aesthetic coffee shop. There was only one staff member taking orders and making the coffee but orders were taken pretty quickly. There's a big selection of baked goods and sandwiches too! The latte I got was super strong so if you like the taste of a dark roast that's not muddled with syrups and sweeteners this is the drink for you. Would recommend checking this place out if you happen to drive past it.

During my journey back to Austin, I made a pit stop at this quaint shop, complete with an in-house roaster. Intrigued, I decided to browse their selection of whole beans. I found the scone to be decent, with a generous amount of fruit baked in. In the end, I purchased 2.2 lbs of whole beans, as they didn't offer smaller bags, which is a big miss for me. At $25 for 2.2 lbs, it seemed like a reasonable deal. Parking lot is small and shared with other local business. Staff was nice and friendly as well.

Locally owned. Locally roasted, and if they could the coffee would be locally grown!! It may not be in a typical location like a strip mall or occupying space at an historic building, but it's just right outside of town on Highway 71 convenient to those out at the state park, or where coffee travelers see Texas Coffee Works like an oasis out in the desert. I was thoroughly impressed with how smooth the coffee was, and the two frappes I ordered got rave reviews, too. It was a busy Sunday afternoon but both workers were busy taking orders and preparing drinks. They didn't skip a beat and I got my order on a timely fashion. I do travel to Houston via Hwy. 71 so I will make it a permanent stop on my travels.

Coffee roasters. You know it's fresh!

I love this place, just don't waste your money trying their matcha out. They specialize in coffee, and ought to just stick with that.

Even more than that, the staff is amazing. Each person was so kind and personable - made our day and felt like "home" (we are visiting from out of town). They even put up with my twin three-year-olds who were unwinding for lack of a nap today, and they made a bit of a mess on the way out. When we went to tidy things up, instead of eye rolls or frustration (which would be understandable) one of the managers gave us some fresh salsa to take home and try. Talk about understanding and kind - these people care, and it showed in each aspect of our visit today. We will be back for sure (but maybe leave the twins with a sitter next time;-). I did not see the little Scoops banner hanging on the bottom of the Coffee Dog banner so it's really confusing whether they are now Scoops, or coffee dog, or both. When I walked up, a gentleman told me they had most of the drinks but just some of the food that was on the menu and I didn't really understand why but when he suggested the avocado chicken salad I got that. I had mentioned that I wanted a salad and I thought that's what I was getting. But it turned out to be one ice cream scoop of chicken salad on top of a bunch of middle parts of Romain lettuce that were pretty yellow. The chicken salad was spicy because it had jalapeños in it and I was unable to finish it. As far as the drink, it tasted great, but I specifically asked the woman taking my order what they had to drink with no caffeine. She suggested the Arnold Palmer raspberry and since I wasn't sure what that was I said that sounded great. But being caffeine intolerant, after the first big swig of my drink, I immediately knew it had caffeine and then confirmed it by googling it. So I was stuck with very little salad, chicken salad that was too spicy for me and a drink I could not drink. I probably should've said something but I knew I would never be back, so it didn't really matter. The employees were friendly enough, but obviously not knowledgeable. I sure hope they get this "transition" straightened out, or whatever it is, because if not they will continue losing business.

It's comfortable and the smell of coffee along with a bunch of home made goodies make your coffee outing a special event. There is a great menu to Pick from including the recent addition of a salad bar. As you wait to order, there are some things to look at from local sellers and buy. Going into the seating area, there tables and some little nooks to meet a friend or work from. It's a place you can find the hours pass. The only downside is side is the lack of a sign at the front entrance that the owner is feverishly trying to get approval on. It's a bit disheartening to see a small business owner have to wait to have something approved that would increase their visibility and have their business grow. I am not sure what official dept in Bastrop that takes care of it, but they need to do it for this great little place to be more noticeable. They also hold special events here too.
