My ex hired Victoria Bones to do a custody evaluation in 2018. Her report was extremely wrong and I lost custody. She claimed he is my son's psychological parent. They aren't related!! She talked down about me without any evidence. It destroyed parenthood for me. My son got cancer a year later and I had to deal with getting permission from my ex for when I could and couldn't be there because she recommended custody to an abusive monster. Victoria is EVIL. My ex wanted me to be punished more!! He insisted to the court that I was mentally ill thanks still to the document from Victoria. I had to undergo a forensic psych eval which actually revealed the discrepancies in Victoria's report and revealed I'm not mentally ill so I got 50/50 back 3 torturous years later. We met with Victoria Bones for a family counseling session to attempt to move beyond some animosity and conflict that had developed with an in-law. A family member who lives out of town found Victoria online and set up the session hoping to clear the air. Victoria first met with them, then brought the rest of the family in. She proceeded to side with the party that had hired her, to the point that it was actually rather bizarre. She was rude and confrontational. The session ended up doing A LOT more harm than good, making a bad situation much worse. I felt badly for the family member that hired her - she was incompetent, biased, and unprofessional. Victoria Bones presents herself as a kind, caring, empathetic woman who wants the best for children and families. This couldn't be further from the truth. Victoria Bones, while presenting herself in a constantly favorable light, is biased, manipulative, and a blatant lair. She does not follow her own procedural guidelines, nor does she follow OFCC guidelines to par. I thought Victoria cared about helping families when in reality she only cares about helping the family member that pays for her service (and a little extra on the side). I've spoken with dozens of other custody evaluators all over Oregon and Washington and the consensus about Victoria Bones seems to be the same: she simply can't do her job and has proven time and time in and out of court she only cares about her own interest and the wants of the paying party. Every other evaluator I spoke to had nothing but negative things to say about Victoria, and now we can all see why. Despite her negative reviews of not only myself but my family, we still got her nonsense evaluation thrown out as she didn't follow guidelines and blatantly lied under oath. She lied to everyone involved, manipulated evidence, withheld information, and spent more time trying to attack the non-paying parties - even to the extent of intentionally withholding information from assessments so the people that paid her looked better. When confronted she stated she "couldn't remember and must have messed up somewhere." She also failed to disclose that she had a clear and blatant conflict of interest, and the paying party had been seeing her privately long before she was hired as a custody evaluator - this is a clear conflict and with someone who brags about her extensive training should know better. She lied in her report and spent more time victim shaming a sexual abuse victim than doing her job. Aren't therapists and counselors taught better? Clearly she missed that week of training as she laughed when talking about disclosure of a rape. Retirement age is 62 in Oregon and Victoria should have crossed that bridge 20 years ago. If you want to waste years of your life, put your child through trauma and manipulation, and only end up with a batty old cook caring more about how great she and her mentors are, than Ms. Bones is right for you! read more

Victoria has helped our family at different times over the past 10 years. She is loving and open which makes opening up to her very easy. Her experience with parenting gave me insights that allowed me to become more of the parent I wanted to be to my children. I had a really good experience with Victoria Bones. I originally was quite resistant to having a parental coordinator. My ex-wife wanted this for a variety of reasons. It wasn't until I missed responding to a request for court, that I had to have a parental coordinator assigned. My ex-wife's attorney recommended Victoria. I asked my attorney about Victoria and she had nothing but good things to say about her, which helped to put me a little at ease. Once assigned, I was a bit resistant. However, Victoria stayed the course and eventually got me to see that she simply wanted the best outcome given the situation (and that it was the kids' best interest that always came first). We worked together for almost two years. I went from being hesitant to really having an admiration for Victoria. I began to see her as more of a mechanism for support versus a court appointed overseer. I began to appreciate that she wouldn't allow me to hyper focus on my resentments toward my ex-wife and instead look at it from a more reflective standpoint. She slowly refocused my attention toward the kids interest and the outcome (vs. the conflict itself). In the end, my perspective had completely changed. When we parted, Victoria offered to take my calls in the future if I had issues, which I have now done on several occasions. Victoria isn't just some mental health professional looking for a pay check. I believe that Victoria truly cares about the people she works with and more importantly, wants to minimize the impacts of parental disputes on the children. Victoria Bones is very dishonest, she writes Abstract at the top of her reports to slide passed responsibility for the dishonesty or the outcomes, she has both parents write self reports and then has them write their own reports of the other parent then she comes up with her Custody Evaluation report write up with what the person paying the most has to say in order to recommend custody be given to said person, she plays nice to your face then is very mean when testifying, she lacks complete accountability, somehow skirts getting her business shutdown, she also somehow got other search engine reviews shut down, many attorneys in the area state she is highly biased and very dishonest. She lied about me which gave my ex husband custody of my two kids, one is not even his child! This caused a real living nightmare for me and for my kids as I was the primary caregiver for 9 years.
