It's close to London, I'll give them that, but somebody needs to speak to the municipality about putting up some directional signs! We couldn't find any coming off the 402 and we were really looking. Oddly, they had signs for other attractions in Petrolia. Really? Are there so many other tourist draws that take precedence over the theatre?
Once we found it (and thank you to the kind lady on the street who gave us directions), the theatre was lovely. It's in an old municipal building with a lovely clock tower. Be sure to check out the art gallery in the council room. Seats are comfortable. It's a small theatre, so all the seats are good. One of the two artistic directors introduces the show. Some nights they have a cabaret afterward featuring the performers. You can win trips and other prizes by buying a ticket to the 50/50 draw. Both tickets to the show and libations are reasonably priced.
The shows are fun. Florence Henderson will soon be bringing her show to Canada for the first time. That might be a fun night out with the parents. Linda Kash (from the Christopher Guest movies; also known as the Philly Cream Cheese angel) will be performing as well. All in all, a solid regional theatre experience. read more
