This little corner shop houses all manner of tableware and cooking utensils at decent prices like Regas earthernware dishes and Italian Bialetti coffee macinettas, hard-wearing piping bags, conical strainers and tongs designed especially for fish fillets, through to large-scale rice cookers and cured meat slicers like those found at proper delis. For bona fide chefs, they also sell industry grade uniforms, including aprons, whites and toques, and offer trade discounts. Meanwhile, home cooks like me can simply revel in the awesome range of useful items and baking products - multicoloured cupcake patties and alphabet-shaped icing cutters, just to name a couple.

I'm in the last category, you might have guessed. Before I came here I'd already bought my circus patterned cup cake holders (I figure it's the cutest easiest way to create a 1 shape - just place the cupcakes in a straight line right?!). But if I hadn't I might have bought the large 1 cake tin hanging in the wall. I didn't know they existed and didn't fancy cooking loads of cakes to cut and mold my own 1. What else do they have? A huge range of baking trays in all manner of shapes and sizes - square, loaf, circle, butterfly. Slate presentation plates - the kind you see in an upmarket cafe with their gourmet cakes displayed on. I like it because it's neat despite the fact that it's packed to the rafters with 'stuff'. By stuff I mean cups and sauces, picture frames, wall hooks, paints, dress up masks, wooden baskets, candles, glasses, glitter, ornaments, kids games, silver bins, cards, paper, lamps, bags, storage containers, mirrors... the list goes on. Stuff that some people may call cheap junk but others might call useful jewels. It depends on what you're looking for. House to Home is the kind of place you go if you're feeling creative and looking for a Secret Santa present or need some basic house nick knacks. Prices are more than reasonable but of course you do get what you pay for.

But honestly, this place is the way forward when it comes to those things that you don't want to spend a fortune on, but don't want to go so cheap they break the minute you get them home. Last week I walked out of here with a large candle, a medium candle, 25 tea lights, a small glass vase and a garlic crusher for $25 - not bad eh?! The best bit about this place is that it is actually an OK place to shop - it has wide isles, everything is organized and the staff know their stuff. It certainly beats fighting the crowds at a department store or squeezing through the shabby isles at a discount store.
