My dad signed my daughter up for martial arts classes and eventually, I joined her. I fell in love with it, me. I never have been athletic my entire life! It not only engages me physically, but mentally. I found self confidence that I've never had before. I actually like putting on clothes and I feel good in my skin. I'm 5'7". My goal was 145, I'm at 142 now. The number wasn't as important to me as feeling healthy and I have never felt better! I'm stronger than I ever thought I could be, my flexibility is so much better, my back and my joints don't hurt as much anymore, and I'm not drained of energy after a day at work. I hope everyone can find something that they enjoy as much as I enjoy martial arts because it has been life-changing for me. Initially upon moving to the area, I began at a different studio and was very unhappy with my experience. In search of a better facility, I located Taekwondo Center of McDonough and explained my concerns from the last class. James, one of the instructors, was very patient in answering all of my questions. After consideration, I decided to give this studio a shot and boy am I glad I did! Before beginning the private lesson that I had scheduled for only my children, I was able to watch some of the other students in action during a belt/physical test. This inspired me to take the class for myself as well! We've finished our quick-start program this week and my children and I have all felt great and motivated after each class. They play energizing music during the warm-up and the exercises are fun! Classes are separated by age groups but they're integrated between all belt levels and I really appreciate that higher level students in their black-belt club help instruct newer students in class, too. It's very much a team atmosphere. Their motto is "A black belt is just a white belt that never quit" and I really like the focus on respect and discipline. They alternate instructors through the week between Master Huynh and the instructor James. I've really enjoyed classes by both and I value that they have the traditional values of martial arts in their program. If you're looking to challenge yourself and learn the true art, this is the place to go!

All have been very professional and inspiring/motivating to my 6yr old girl. She loves going. We joined with a special they were having, then they notified us when our days covered under the special were about to be over. They gave a paper with different pay plan options (pre-pay full year, month/month, three-month commitment, etc) if you so choose to continue. They have 3 rooms they rotate the class through, each with it's own focus. I love this place. The only downside for me is that of the 5 instructors, only 1 speaks English as a first language, and 1 other instructor is ok speaking English. The other 3, I feel like I need a translator. I understand tae kwon do has Korean roots, however... Being a business in a city where English is spoken dominantly, bilingual instructors should be a priority. Especially when yearly commitments equal over $1k. I would feel more comfortable knowing I can have clear communication with the instructors/owner.
