Just before our plane took off in San Francisco, my husband lost a small part to his hearing aid. I went to Dr. Franklin about two years ago after a botched attempt to get earmolds done for a set of custom In-Ear Monitors resulted in almost wasting $750 on a pair of Westone ES-5s I couldn't wear. The staff got me set up with an appointment that was convenient and quick (a rarity with a doc), I got the impressions, sent them off along with the wouldn't-fit-phones, and what came back was a pair of perfectly fitted monitors that I've used heavily (and just broke). What drives this review, however, is the experience I had with my grandmother. I am from Corpus Christi, and couldn't find a good audiologist down there (the people she used sold their business and moved, sadly). So, as a last resort, I decided to take her on a 'vacation' and we went to Austin. First time in years I think the woman has been happy with a doctor. Again, she was taken in with little wait and only complained about how cold it was. For her? That's a miracle. 'Mimi' kvetches about eeeevverrrryyyttthhhiinnngggg. I say this with love of course. Anyway, the hearing aids we got work great and she says they're perfectly comfortable. She still doesn't use them often enough, but compared to the last ones that she threw in the trash out of spite, it's an improvement. Yep, love my Mimi. read more

Dr. Franklin is an incredibly great Audiologist. I went to him to get new hearing aids and me being much younger than most folks (A freshman in college) who receive these devices I live a much more active life and require a very specific fitting. Dr. Franklin was able to do both, he recommended many fantastic devices and even reprogrammed my current hear aids for minimal cost. I was not wear these aids because I was having many issues with them and when he did the fitting many of the issues went away. This was very helpful since I went from barely wearing my aids to now wearing them daily and having a much improved experience while I was waiting for my spring break to receive my new aids. When I received my new aids I was amazing. Dr. Franklin fit these new hearing aids and they are even better than my older pair. I have none of the issues that I used to have in restaurants and in loud college parties. I am able to wear them all the time and they have been amazing. Dr. Franklin is an incredible audiologist and I recommend you see him if you have any questions about your hearing or if you are having issues with your current aids. He has done an incredible job and even helped me find an audiologist by my school. read more

I finally bit the bullet and realized that I need just a bit of improvement in the hearing department so I found my way to Dr. Allan. He was very personable, explained all the tests results thoroughly so my wife and I understood what was going on with my hearing. The hearing aids we chose he made sure they were a good fit and that I understood everything about them. My job has me on the phone with an earpiece all day long and the hearing aids aren't even noticeable- my children/grandkids didn't even see them in my ears to know I had gotten some. All positives in my book. He is personable, knowledgeable and just passionate about what he does. He made the experience, which I was hesitant about, quite enjoyable. After calling one audiologist after the other, over the course of several months, only to be met with answering machine after answering machine, a REAL PERSON answered at Victory Hearing! Andrea's voice at sounded like an angel! She answered my questions without missing a beat, and I had an appointment for my father before we hung up. Only ONE of the many others I had called ever called back - on the day of my father's appointment with Victory Hearing. Dr. Franklin is thorough, patient, and was able to alleviate my father's hesitations regarding the "new-fangled" equipment about which he was balking. I went to Dr. Franklin to have some custom-molded ear plugs made as I frequently shoot in competition shotgun events - such as sporting clays and skeet - and hearing protction is a MUST. Dr. Franklin patiently walked me through the progression of devices available and pointed out the pros and cons of each. After a phone call with me, Dr. Franklin and the manufacturer's representative to clear up some questions regarding some technological aspects of the products I was looking at, I wound up with a terrific set of custom molded electronic hearing protection ear plugs (plus two non-electronic sets as well). These things are AWESOME as I can hear normal conversation but when a gun goes off......sweet silence. I was thrilled with the patient care, bedside manner and dedication that Dr. Franklin showed me. Victory Hearing and Balance is the place to go for hearing aids and hearing tests! I was a new patient/customer and needed hearing aids for the first time in my life. My hearing has been getting progressively worse for last 20 years. I had a variety of hearing aids with several different professionals. I thought they were the best in the business. Recently, I connected with Dr. Franklin and he delivered a very high quality of service and care beyond my expectation and belief. I've taken both my son and my grandmother in to Dr Franklin and couldn't be happier with the results. I don't usually write reviews, but I just had dinner with a friend of mine that I recommended to go see Dr. Franklin after having a bad experience with getting evaluated for hearing aids. It used to be difficult to have a conversation without feeling like I was yelling at him, but he just raved about how good it was to hear everything and how well they took care of him. We were actually testing his hearing during dinner by tapping on the table and glasses. I first went to Dr. Franklin three years ago, at that time he said I qualified for hearing aids (my insurance would pay for part of them) however he recommended that with my type of loss that I might want to wait a few years, so I did.
