Breakfast was bewilderingly tasty both days of our stay (the proprietor chose to eat with us - which was rather nice). Really delicious. Children appear to be most welcome - there are toys and books around and available. Guests will need to plan around both lunch and dinner - Manhattan and other food options are not very very close by.

Some days we ate at the crack of dawn others right before lunch time, you just let them know when you want to eat and your place will be set and if your up in time, the candles will still be lit! We stayed in the Van Mannen suite, it was spacious and well thought out, the shower was perfect size with a super high shower head which pleased my man of 6'5" who did not have to crouch to shower :) the bed is memory foam and delightfully comfy with lots of pillows to choose from. It was decorated with Tim's heirloom antiques and the garden was picturesque. As soon as I booked the stay, Tim emailed me confirming my stay and asked if I had a check-in time in mind and any dietary needs that he needs to be aware of for breakfast. This is a one bedroom Bed & Breakfast and Tim truly treats you well. It is very evident that he enjoys what he does and he takes care of his guests. Walking in, he offered me iced tea and gave me a tour of his beautiful home. There is a story behind everything and he can tell you all about your journey around the world. There is no TV in the room but he has a huge collection of movies that you can watch in his "den." I woke up to the smell of coffee and a delicious breakfast served on fine china over candlelight.

Tricia is just an amazing and wonderful woman and was so happy to help us in every way, in fact, everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind. When they hand you your keys, they say "Welcome Home", and they mean it! Very kind and open-minded people and I would highly recommend this bed & breakfast for anyone staying in Northeast Kansas! Oh and if you stay there, be sure to get the one-hour long massage for only $45 - their massage therapist is the BEST I've been to - in my life. Can't recommend highly enough! The only downside is that there are only privacy locks on the inside of the doors - at the time of this posting there was no way to lock the door from the outside leaving me a bit anxious about leaving my belongings in my room.
