My own child, who has special needs, was viciously assaulted by a group, yet the coach insisted there were no cameras but he was sure that the incident never happened. Despite another adult confirming the horrifying attack during interviews, we received no validation from the coach. Instead, he constantly attempted to sweep everything under the rug, showing a dismissive attitude. Even after expressing my concerns that my child is easily eloped, the coach, instead of assuring me of my child's safety, suggested it would be better if my child didn't return to his class. My child has done martial arts before; he knows the difference when he is training than when he is being hurt on purpose. The fact that the coach dismissed our concerns instead of suggesting talking to the other kids about being understanding and respectful towards children with special needs is deeply troubling. It's Important for instructors in any setting to foster an inclusive environment where all students feel safe and supported. It's unacceptable for any child, especially one with special needs, to be subjected to such mistreatment without proper acknowledgment and action from those in authority.

After joining victory, he's a lot better. He can perform in front of classmates and parents. He also took leadership class that teach him to be respect, obedient, patient , etc. It's a lot more than just kicking and punching. Staffs are very nice and pay attention to detail. From my experience though the tournament that all kids from different location will compete, my son did everything right when some kids in same rank or higher cannot do. I'm sure the staffs here teach my son well and right. Most importantly, I never force him to go practice. He likes to go on his own and enjoy the class.

Coach Rodney Risner and Coach Michelle Mercer-Risner are terrific with kids of all age groups. They have adult classes too, and although that is not part of our experience, I hear good things about those classes as well. We didn't know what to expect, but it's been a great experience for my son learning martial arts and improving his physical fitness in a fun and encouraging environment!
