It was a fine outing on a winter afternoon. Place is full with littles. I decided not to go in the water and chilled in watering hole cafe sitting area. I ordered a boca burger and fries which was edible but next time I will bring my own food. Squirrels were extremely rowdy and did not let me eat in peace as they wanted a share of fries which I refused to give. I will never come here in summers as I can imagine how packed this place would be. My kids rented a canoe for 50$ for two hours to go to wekiwa island and they ate there . If you are not a swim or water person there is not much to do other than that.. water is a natural spring and pretty but also smells in areas .. Good place for little kids but not for me

I had a fantastic time at Wekiwa Springs. I rented a tandem kayak to take out on the river, and was blown away at how clear the water is as well as the nature. This was a perfect opportunity to disconnect and be one with nature. You WILL see alligators though on the river, however they just keep to themselves if you let them be. This is a perfect place to take a boat or paddle board out for a trip and see some of Florida's beautiful nature.

Today was not super busy but they let everyone in free today for the 250th anniversary celebration this year. It's only $3 to come in normally but this park you need a reservation. It's not a big spring but half is a big swimming area and the other half is kayaking the spring.. really pretty area and there's a small snack shop and a gift store where you get kayaks at.

Beautiful natural spot with crystal-clear water and a relaxing vibe. Perfect for swimming, kayaking, and escaping into nature. However, it gets extremely busy in the summer, so expect crowds and limited space unless you arrive very early. Still worth visiting for the scenery!

Went to Wekiwa Springs State Park on Sunday the springs are hidden gem and short drive from Orlando the water is emerald and just crystal clear. I didn't feel comfortable getting in the water some of the swimmers look like they pee in the water. There are plenty of trails for hiking too. Cost was $6.00 for two people and also included parking.

Ok so I absolutely love the Springs. Now if you come to this particular park I 100% recommend bringing chairs and/or blankets if you don't want to sit on the grass. There are very few areas to sit. And no tables by the Springs itself. They did have a café and shop but its expensive so I do recommend you bringing your own supplies. The swimming area is small but deep. Although they do have a very small area that is shallow enough for small kids. And like any Springs in the summer in Florida it gets busy. And at this particular location you do need to make a reservation if you want to make it in and are strict about it.

Beautiful place but it can get crowded and a bit loud. Bring your own seating bc there is none provided. It's swim at your own risk bc there are no lifeguards.

The reservation system made it easy for parking and not having to worry and show up and not being able to find a spot or waiting in line for an hour. We stopped at torchy's tacos on the way and got some grub. It was conveniently nearby. Parking was from the parking lot to the actual watering hall was a short walk. we brought a tent and chairs and set up camp. It was a really hot day that day so I wish I had brought a fan. The water was cool, but not overly crowded. It got more crowded as the day went on. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I did not know that you were allowed to bring your own Floaties, but I will be prepared next time we return.

Swimming, couldn't have been any better than this!!! Clear spring water at 72° temp year around - it's heaven on earth. School of tiny fish is seen. Two park rangers walking by, I asked them about the distance to the bridge. "Ehhh I don't know. It's not job requirement," he joked. "Will add this one then," he said. Entrance fee is $6 per car.

Swimming area. Set up your own towels/chairs on the cemented area or grassy knoll. Get there early if you want a shady spot!

This is a very well kept springs area that is great for families and nature lovers. They have adopted a reservation system recently (2025) and you have to reserve a spot and pay for your car ahead of time. I'm actually very glad that they have adopted this system. I haven't been in years because this particular park would often fill to capacity early in the morning and there would be a line of cars blocking traffic waiting to get in. With the reservation system, you know whether or not the park is full and if it's worth packing up the car to head out. This spring does not have a "run" where you float down a segment (like Rock and Blue Springs). This is just a large "swimming hole." Bring your own floats because they don't have a rental area for tubes. You can bring your own (or rent) kayaks and canoes to launch in the river, but you can't swim in that section (you wouldn't want to either...gators!) There are no lifeguards on duty and the swimming area ranges in depth that would not be safe for little ones. There is a roped off wading area that gets pretty full. You can camp and hike, as well as other outdoor activities in this area. Pets are not allowed near the swimming area, but I did see a few people with dogs. They were promptly asked to remove them by the camp ranger. They are allowed in the campsites and trails. All in all, this is a great spot to unwind and disconnect.

[Review inspired by Earth Day 2024] Great spot to come and enjoy some of the natural beauty of Florida in a somewhat centrally located state park. The swimming and walking areas are fairly large but they do close it off once they reach maximum capacity, which tends to happen quite early on the weekends. We got here at around 9 AM on a Saturday in April, hoping for the best but expecting the worst. Thankfully, we were able to get in. My only complaints: the bathrooms were not very clean; some of the items on their menu (like milkshakes and bratwurst) were not available despite being on the menu.

You are able to rent, canoes, kayaks, boats, etc. The water is beautiful. You can see through the water. I feel safe every time I go here. They have a dining area where you can order fresh food and it is also cheap. They also have a gift shop where you can buy goggles, snacks, necessities and swim in the spring. I recommend going early to avoid a crowd.

The new reservation service worked well instead of waiting in an hour long like to learn the park is at capacity! The park rangers were proactive and attentive even off the clock. The watering hole food taste better and cost less than the over priced food at the theme parks. An attendee found a snake, the squirrels tried to dine, the bugs weren't bad ( aside from the ants that you need to pay attention to when setting up shop) The right amount of wildlife for those who love it and even those that don't.

Wekiwa Springs State Park Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Wekiwa Springs State Park

Do I need tickets or a reservation or can we just pull up?

Is it still only up to 50% capacity? (Sept 2020)

    What? Never! Always full.

    Are there kayak rentals available?

Yes they are. You can rent for 1 or 2 hours... 2 hours it's enough time to go around the park

Are there lockers in the swimming area?

I saw some lockers next to the shop/food stand (which is also near the restrooms.) There were about 20 small lockers, but need to bring your own lock.

Is there tubing here (lazy river)?

No. Only kayaking and canoe. Visit Kelly Springs, Rock Springs Run nearby for tubing. Their number is (407) 254-1902.

Can we bring pets to the park, specifically dogs?

I saw some signs where pets were not allowed past a certain point. You can bring pets in but not all areas.

Are there lifeguards looking out for gators? Has there ever been an accident with gators?

There aren’t any lifeguards but the park rangers keep an eye out. In April when I was there they told us at the entry there was an alligator in the spring area and no swimming was allowed until it left. A couple of years ago there was an attack at…

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes they allow dogs and prefer you to keep them on their leashes

    Is it crowded today?

    Duh!! 🙄 Yes! Daily crowds!

Is there a grilling area here?

    Yes, lots.

Any gator in the swimming area or closed?

I've never seen one, but it's always a good idea in Florida to assume there could be one and look out.

We even saw some large Florida Bass swimming near the shoreline. However, you will need plenty of patience making this "loop" when stuck behind selfish narcissistic idiots. What do I mean, being such an ass with that statement? When fools stop their vehicle every 10 yards and stay put for 5 to 10 minutes staring at yet another alligator, whose cousins they did the same to just moments earlier is an example. There were plenty of opportunities for these "lead" cars to use a turnout, or even pull to the right along a majority of this one way road, to allow others who might not be as enamored (or selfish) to pass by. Or how about the POS that stopped in the middle of the road, thus preventing anyone from passing (which they could have had he pulled to the right or left), only to get out of his car with his camera and 20 inch zoom lens so he could spend 10 minutes snapping a few photos. Sadly, for him and myself, I was stuck about 10 cars back and unable to give him a piece of my mind. And as others have pointed out - one way in and one way out. If you need to take a leak during this 3 hour "adventure" you are SOL. I can't even imagine what would happen if your vehicle sadly broke down or ran out of gas. I am not trying to discourage anyone from taking this scenic route, but be prepared (take drinks and snacks in case you get stuck in a conga line 30 cars deep). As for us - one and done! Let's see if I ever take the person's, who bragged about this cruise, recommendation again. I'd be hard pressed let's say. There are way too many (not a bad thing) beautiful scenic drives and hikes in this great State. Again, have patience if choose to take this excursion; or a sedative.
