This video store gets a 5 star rating just for their TV Series DVD collection!!! Holy crap they have every DVDs of every season of every TV show that is available!! Here is the crazy part... You rent the whole season (all 4 or 5 DVDs in one box) of the TV show for $2 and for a week!!! I rented all the seasons of House, How I Met Your Mother, and Californication here. They have even the obscure TV shows. I mean some TV shows you totally forgot about, they have it. You love Alf? They have it. You liked the Golden Girls? They have every season. Remember MTV's "8th and Ocean"? Probably not because I don't think anyone watched that reality series but guess what... This place has it! Now get this... Blockbuster is $4 for renting 1 Disc of a TV show. That's like 3 or 4 episodes. You would have to pay over $30 just for season 2 of House. That's stupid. They also have a good selection of DVDs. (Even Adult DVDs for those people who never heard of the internet). All their old DVDs are $2 and I believe New Releases are only $3. They even have a special where you can rent any 3 new releases for $7. They also sell used DVDs for cheap. Wide selection of video games too. Oh yea. So after keeping "House" season 3 for 6 days, I called the video store and asked them how much the late fee was. They said they just charge me for re-renting it. So they charged me $2 to keep for another 5 days! That's seriously awesome. I almost want to give them extra money because I feel bad for keeping 5 Discs for 10 days for $4. Video exclusive is the best video store I have ever been to in my life, and I'm thirty, so my childhood was spent in video stores. I cannot praise this store enough. The options they have are just mind boggling for a physical store. It's like browsing the physical DVD section of Netflix in 2004: things you actually wanted to watch. Popular movies, cult favorites, things that no cult ever took up but SHOULD HAVE. I wanted to watch Alice in wonderland, and I was able to rent FOUR different versions here (one of which came from the exceedingly strange and irreplaceable back rooms of video exclusive). Five stars? I would give this place an entire sky. The only downside to my perpetual desire to take home every DVD in the store that is the late fees really add up, but this is a very personal lazy problem and has nothing to do with the perfectly normal rental standards being upheld here. read more

A friend of mine is a horror film junkie and he recommended Video Exclusive to me upon my recent move to the area. The place is perfect! I love supporting local businesses, and the selection is perfect- I was able to walk in and find True Detective immediately - I could rent all three discs together for two days for $4.00! We drive from Brownstown to come to this video store,not because we don't have one near by, but the atmosphere and people are just Ace mate! It might sound weird to use the term atmosphere when recommending a video store, but it's one of the reasons we go - it reminds me of the 'old school' 80s store which is awesome. The selection of movies us incredible, especially if you are looking to get harder to find titles, cult classics and the horror section rocks! Now let's talk about the service - again, just ace! About 6 years ago (2009) I was a very loyal customer, renting multiple movies a couple times a week. I always prefer to support local businesses. They have a great selection of all types of movies. I had rented several movies and returned them into the after hours drop box as I always had done. A day or so later I received a call stating that one of the returns was only the box and not the disc, and please return the disc as soon as I could. I was certain I had placed the disc in the case after we watched it, but checked my DVD player just in case I had left it by mistake. Not there, also searched around the tv area and in other dvd cases. No disc, so I was certain I had returned it. I called the store back to advise them I did not have the disc and to check the box as perhaps it fell out of the case, etc. She said it was not there and since I only returned the case I owed them $22 for the disc. I declined paying since I had returned it and did not have it. I was then advised I was not allowed to rent there any more. A couple weeks later I get a call from a collection agency at my office ! I told the the story and she said to send her a letter explaining what happened and she would take care of it. The collection company called me a week later stating I still owed the $22. I told her I did not owe, but as a gesture of good faith I would split the amount with them. She said not to worry about it and did not want to take my 50% offer. Took my business elsewhere for the past 6 years. TODAY I stopped in with my kids to re-establish an account and rent some kids movies. I was told that I still owed $22 and can not rent from them unless I pay $22 for a disc that I returned and they lost 6 years ago! Seriously? So I again offered to split the $22 in good faith. She did not want my money or my business. I was planning on renting some movies and buying some snacks today totaling over $22. So this is an example of a very bad business with no customer service. If you do rent from them, please return your movies in person to the clerk. Do not use the drop box. read more

Rented a movie called "muck" was only able to watch it for ten 10 minutes took it back to video store and was told I couldn't EXCHANGE it for something else . I told the sales rep that this should have been in the XXX section for all the tits, tits and more tits.I filed a complaint with the BBB twice and it took this video store 3 weeks to respond. When they finally respond the manager said that they can't give refunds because they are a small company and can't lose money, but I am the one who lost money I rented a movie I couldn't watch ( some of use don't like porn ) and couldn't exchange it for another. It was a lose lose for me.I told the manager I have rented movies that I have watched and hated and never asked for my money back, but I would have never rented this movie had it been in the right section, this should have been in the XXX section. Maybe they didn't know that it was porn, but even after I told the sales rep when I returned it, he still put it back in the general section. I would have never rented this had it been in the right section( cause I don't watch porn) and wouldn't have lost my money. I rented it for me and my sons thinking it was a horror movie( it said horror on the back).Had I seen all the movie I wouldn't have asked for my money back, but if I can't stomach it for 10 minutes that's something different. read more
