    McKiernan - deviled brussel sprouts

The food looks better than it tasted…read more The schnitzel was huge and caught my eye but it was a tad dry and bland for my liking. The beet salad was refreshing and bright paired with the schnitzel. The honey garlic ribs was also dry, my jaws had a workout. We got the lemon glazed donut to go and that was nice and fluffy, not too sweet.

Our favorite meal in Montreal! It's the sister restaurant to Joe Beef (which we also went to), but…read morethe vibe is completely different. The inside is so spacious with a loft feel. There are huge windows on one side letting in a lot of light. It seems like a great place to have a large group dinner or event there. We ordered the deviled brussel sprouts, bomba schnitzel, and chicken alexandre for lunch. We also ended up getting a cookie and donut from their pastry counter afterwards. It was a ton of food, but I wish I had room to try more things. The brussel sprouts were some of the best brussels I've ever had. There was so much flavor packed in there. I could have done without the blue cheese, but I still loved it. I usually wouldn't order rotisserie chicken at a restaurant, but this was cooked perfectly. It was so juicy and tender. The schnitzel was amazing too. Overall, it just really felt like simple food and ingredients done well. I was very impressed. I would love to go back here again. This was such a satisfying meal, and a great way to end our trip.

What a privilege to be able to enjoy well prepared Vietnamese food served in large portions. The pork served with both #49 and 58 were both juicy, tender, well- seasoned with great depth of flavor and texture. We also enjoyed the 3 bean drink. Reminds me of the Filipino halo- halo. We're planning to return tomorrow to enjoy Pho Anh Vu's other offerings. Stay tuned for updates. Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

One of the latest addition to the Vietnamese food scene in Montreal and my favorite spot thus far…read more The restaurant is well-lit, nicely adorned with Vietnamese decor and quite spacious. My family made reservations for noon on a Saturday and thankfully so, because the line was out the door upon arrival. We ordered a pho dac biet (#15) and bun bo hue dac biet (#24) . Come hungry, because their large bowls are massive! Their pho was so nourishing and comforting on a rainy day. Each bowl loaded with a hefty serving of meat, tendon and tripe. The herbs were incredibly fresh and even came with culantro! But the star of this meal had to be the bun bo hue; I haven't had such an amazing bun bo hue from a restaurant in a long time. The broth was beefy and loaded with tender pieces of meat, but also finally had enough of the lemongrass essence I crave for in bbh. It packed just the right amount of heat without it being overpowering or mouth-numbing. I practically licked the bowl clean at the end of the meal. My family was ecstatic to have found another spot that hits close to home for them. Flavors are impeccable and portion sizes are very generous. We already decided that we will be regulars. You'll catch us here very often!
