View Boston was an awesome experience! It's located inside the Prudential Center, which makes it really convenient to visit while you're shopping or exploring the area. I recommend purchasing your tickets directly at the location, as they were cheaper than buying them online or through the Go City app when we visited. The top floor is more geared toward taking pictures and has some really great photo opportunities. The lower floor has more of an outdoor feel, along with a great bar, music, and a fun atmosphere. It honestly felt like a great after work hangout spot for adults. There's also a nice gift shop where you can purchase the photos taken at the beginning of the experience or pick up a souvenir. I would definitely recommend View Boston for all ages. The best part was that everyone in our group enjoyed it from the little ones to the older kids, with ages ranging from 2 to 14. If you're looking for an expensive photo op, then sure, stop by. This was very disappointing. It's a great view, but for $30+ per.person, it's definitely not worth it. We lived in Boston for years, so we know what we're looking at, but if you're visiting, I'm not sure if you'll really understand what you're seeing. There are no maps, no signs that point out destinations, no employees to tell you what landmarks you're looking at. Nothing. They have a photo package that is a couple photos of you against a photo wall. The photos aren't even of the Boston views. Save your money. Don't go. I can't emphasize that enough. Here are some free alternatives that are pretty nice. 1. Bunker Hill Monument -- Panoramic city views from the topYou can climb the 294 steps for free and get one of the best skyline views in the city. It's the closest true alternative to a paid observation deck. 2. Charles River Esplanade -- Open waterfront + skyline vistasMiles of riverfront paths with unobstructed views of Back Bay and Cambridge. Perfect for sunset walks or bike rides. 3. The 360 degree views of Boston are indeed impressive and beautiful, especially to enjoy the transition from sunset to dusk to night. Housed on the 50 to 52nd floors of the Prudential building in downtown, this skywalk is a cool place to visit if you keep the following in mind: 1. You can get a 20% discount for groups of 4 or more online. 2. The 50th floor houses computer graphic exhibits and a brief immersive video showing you mini tours through different landmark buildings of Boston. 2. The 52nd floor is enclosed and has sappy pop music playing nonstop loudly and is full of instagram type floral backdrops, multicolored tassels hanging from the ceiling and raised opalescent platforms that I'm sure people on instagram would love for selfies. 3. The open air area on the 51st floor has fresh air and a bar, and is my favorite because it's peaceful and allows you to converse with your companions while enjoying the view. I agree with another yelpie whose critique was there are no signs that help you identify what you're seeing in the city. Because the skywalk is so high, it's difficult to distinguish buildings below unless they have neon signs like Fenway Park or the casino. Where's the landmark map or plaque identifying our views? I've seen many of them at other elevated sky view places in Los Angeles, for example. I would love to have been able to identify landmarks from that vantage point and see this as a missed opportunity by View Boston. (They do offer binoculars for $10 but really? View Boston is accessible from the bottom of the Prudential Center in the middle of the shopping/dining area. Once you go through security, you take the elevators up to the top floor where you are rewarded the most beautiful view of the city in an enclosed area with sofas and signs showing you different parts of the city. I usually like to go up to towers in the late afternoons so I can see the city I'm visiting during the day and at night, but on this trip I went in the morning and it was still pretty! I spotted Fenway Park, the Citco sign indicating the end of the Boston marathon, the MIT dome, and several other areas I have already explored by foot. Go down one level and you can experience the open air and enjoy cocktails in the restaurant. It would actually be a lovely place to dine or have a date night. Go towards the exit and there is a cool display about Boston with lights and a video backdrop, as well as a gift shop at the end. Definitely worth a visit at least once! read more

Such beautiful views of Boston! This was my second time here and each time I enjoyed my experience. It wasn't overly crowded like other observation view decks I've been to. The cinema room has amazing displays of Boston each time I've gone there was a different display so it's definitely worth going more than once. The bar quaint with a full bar offering. There is a restaurant with views though I haven't been myself. The gift shop before you exit has various souvenirs available for purchase from salt water taffy, books, clothing and more. We enjoyed the view from the enclosed 52nd floor observatory. Beautiful day and great for photos! The next floor down with the open air observatory waa so windy, you could barely stand. It was an in-out quickly type of view! Not sure why they even have it! It wasn't a windy day and guessing that high up, there is always wind! There's a nice immersion video running and a cool model set of the city with a video behind going thru dawn to dusk. We saw an area that looked like a bar of restaurant that would make a nice meal with a view. It wasn't open. Maybe it's open during evening time or on the weekends? There wasn't much history about the building or how it was built (as is done at the NYC Empire State Building). It's very over priced for what you get, entrance only! If you bare doing the Boston Pass, and it doesn't cost much, then I would suggest it. In addition to the ticket price (and tax), we paid $6.88 processing fee! Self-service at a Kiosk and gave no idea why they would charge a processing fee (these were purchased onsite not online!). $75 for two people! Money better spent elsewhere. Definitely feel like a summer tourist now. They run a lot of ads and how I was sucked in! I used to work at the John Hancock Tower during Summers. We were allowed up to the observatory any time no charge (and definitely took many opportunities). Very cool.and scary for many! Unfortunately they permanently closed the observatory after 9/11! View Boston in Back Bay was a cool experience, especially during the Boston Marathon expo. I had free access to the top, which was a great perk and made it easy to check out. Unfortunately, it was super cloudy the day I went, so there was basically no view at all. Even with that, it was still fun to go up and see the space. The View Boston is beautifully decorated with fake flowers and makes a pretty good photo opportunity. There's also rainbow art on the ceiling and gorgeous sunset views of the city all around (especially Fenway Park!) while enjoying a drink. I ended up getting a limoncello because they didn't have any soda options. I wish they had basics like sparkling water, Ginger ale, Diet Coke, etc. We had a great time here with the DJ. Go in the Prudential Building at 800. Up the escalator and down the hall. You can't miss it. Follow the ticket ladies directions. You'll be on the 52nd floor. Do all that and then go down one level like you're leaving and there's an open air level on the 51st floor all the way around. There's a pretty good bar there too. Boston, MA (Back Bay) - every major city with skyscrapers has at least one observation deck now, and The View on top of the Prudential Tower is Boston's answer to those seeking a bird's eye view of the city. If you've been to One World Observatory in NYC, it's quite similar to that, but not as tall at 52 floors. It used to cost $5 to come up here once upon a time and was no big deal, but the newly opened View (from June 2023) has been turned into a bonafide "attraction" with enhancements. It's a pretty cool experience from start to finish, with a neat finale, albeit pretty pro forma in how these things go. (Admittedly I'm a bit of a jaded customer since I'm a sucker for heights and have done too many observatory towers around the world - including all 5 in NYC - to be easily awestruck.) But sweeping 360 views, especially with outdoor access, never fail to impress, and it's fun trying to identify buildings on the ground. There are digital touchscreens around that point to a few neighborhoods and landmarks, but they could use better graphics and be more detailed. The wrap-around terrace features an indoor-outdoor rooftop bar (Stratus Bar), and there is also a restaurant on the 50th floor (The Beacon Bistro) where you can grab a bite or drink while enjoying panoramic views. View Boston was not on my itinerary but I had purchased a CityPass for the aquarium and a boat ride that came with the choice of two other places to visit. It ended up raining pretty bad on our first day in Boston, so an indoor activity like View Boston seemed like the best idea instead of the river activity I had originally planned. Finding the entrance was no hard, there are plenty of signs leading you to the area. The escalators and elevators were fun and I liked the interactive movie in the elevator. The views from up here are fantastic and I appreciated how many levels there were and places to sit and just enjoy. There are even couches and comfy seating on the lower level outside of the restaurant. On the top level, I really loved the screens that showed you landmarks, that you could move around and see details for different places around the city. On the lower level, I really enjoyed the city model that changed color and video depending on the Boston icon they were featuring. Super cool and especially fun for the kids. Overall, I do not regret choosing this experience and would actually come back and pay the full price to experience it. read more

You'll find a glass encased viewing platform up on that 52nd floor that gives you free access to walk around and enjoy amazing panoramic views of the city. But the 51st floor was just as great, maybe even better because it has a 360° open-air roof deck. Photo ops for your group and scenic views of the city are everywhere. Of course there is a rooftop bar named Stratus, so if you want a Marguerita or a Prosecco as to watch as the sun sets..... no worries. Totally worth the time to visit! read more

While visiting Boston we did a package deal tour with Boston Duck Company to enjoy View Boston located in the Prudential building a quick walk from the Duck tour as well as our hotel at Copley Place. The weather was perfect that day and so clear, it is a well organized observatory and as it's said in the song "on a clear day you can see forever" What a great way to appreciate the Boston area, all the way to the ocean and every bit of the city. Definitely worth the price, it offers food and full bar at the observation deck with plenty of seating to hang out and enjoy the time as well as the sights. This is a must do when visiting Boston! For two adults it was $74 for the admission but it was definitely a highlight of our trip. View Boston covers three floors with the observation deck being on the 52nd floor. This is about 750 feet up and the views are amazing. After spending some time indoor panoramic views we made our way down to the cloud terrace. We even enjoyed a refreshing beverage at the Stratus Bar (51st floor) and strolled around the open terrace. We even pulled up a chair and enjoyed the view in one of the many outdoor lounge areas. On the way out the route you down to the 50th floor and you can see additional exhibits, a 3D model of Boston, and of course the gift shop. We even picked up new Boston hat here as a souvenir. Loved this and we even scored some great recommendations for dinner. read more

I had a great visit during an afternoon at View Boston followed up by a private event later that night. The whole experience is really well done from the arrival to security to elevators to the various experiences available at the top. The views truly are impressive day or night. I have to say that the sunset was particularly awesome. It's a great way to get a sense of how Boston is laid out thus making it a great first stop during someone's visit especially if it's your first time visiting the city. The staff were helpful and kind. I'd recommend View Boston to many folks. For folks who are having a hard time finding it in the Prudential Center, follow the signs. The observation deck view of Boston, MA is in the Prudential Center. It is nice and you get a 360-degree look around the city. The food and drink stations were closed because they were getting ready for a private party. $34 a ticket is a little high and we had to pay $47 for parking. read more

Wow, 5 star experience! It's a relatively new observation deck. It's not as crowded as the ESB or the Top of the Rock (NYC). I initially came on a cloudy/rainy day (with zero visibility), and the staff re-booked us for another sunny day. If you are not from Boston, visit whenever at your convenience. If you are from Boston, I'd recommend coming here on a Sunday morning at 10 AM. There is free street parking (you will have an easier time finding street parking if you get here before 9 AM. Park and walk around Newbury or Eataly.) Then get in line at 9:50 AM right outside of the glass doors and be ready to "rope drop." I'd say you can squeeze this in under 60 minutes if you need to (for tourists). If you are not in a rush, then I'd recommend around 90 minutes for the whole experience (elevator rides/security line, visiting the indoor deck, check out views, then outdoor deck, take the free photo, check out interactive exhibits, email yourself the free photo at kiosk, etc.) Clean bathroom at the top floor, plus a clean changing table and free sanitary products. All the staff members are very kind and friendly and will offer to take your photos! They really should consider adding a binoculars station. Good money making business if they charge like a quarter per guest visit (for a few mins). Very good indoor air quality! View Boston is a really cool concept, a great way to see Boston from on top of the Prudential Center. There's essentially two floors to explore. You first arrive on the 52nd floor, which is enclosed by glass windows. Here you enjoy the 360 view of this level, and theres a few interactive things to do. There's small models of buildings you're looking at in the distance, and you can scan your ticket to add to a virtual itinerary you can build. They also have computer kiosks where you can explore Boston and learn more. Then you descend a level, where they have a bar, a restaurant, and an open-air roof deck. In my opinion, the open-air deck is the best part of the entire place, and why I'd keep coming back. You're experiencing these breath taking views while getting to feel the Boston breeze surrounding you. It's quite magical. I've been here twice now, once during the day and once at night. I'm glad I've done both, each view was different but both still lovely. I will say I wish they shut the lights off or dimmed them a little during the night time, as taking photographs was a little challenging and there's a glare on the windows making it harder to enjoy the view. I've heard when you visit attractions like this in other cities they do this to make your experience better. As you exit there's a cool 3D model of Boston that plays a projection which is cool to see, as well as a video of Boston as you leave to go to the gift shop. The itinerary concept is cool but they don't really explain to you that your ticket is what you use to do it. I kind of also skipped over the interactive stuff and enjoyed the view. Overall I really like this attraction at the Pru and recommend bringing your out of town guests here! read more

The View Boston is worth the price of admission in a number of ways. First there are three floors to view and enjoy the beautiful, historic views of Boston. On the 50th story is a restaurant with a bar, a clever 180 degree video compilation of Boston sights and a gift shop. On the 51st story is an outdoor 360 degree viewing deck with a bar and seating to soak up the sun and the great views. The 52nd story which is the first floor you arrive on, is floor to ceiling windows. You can walk around and take in the entirety of Boston. This is the floor that puts Boston into perspective and there are historically knowledgeable people around to answer questions and share insights regarding this great city. Some notable sights are the Fenway Park, MIT, Harvard, Boston Logan Airport, the oldest city park in America and the 34 islands that make up the city plus the mountains in the distance. Although it is lower, I actually enjoyed the outdoor deck more as the breeze was refreshing and at least for me, being outside at the height made it more enjoyable. Five stars for the view alone!! Came here on Friday evening as the hubs had a work holiday party here - great place for it! Very impressive. You walk in through the Prudential center mall and get checked in through the event check in and security. They had coat check right there too which was convenient. Then you wait in line for the elevator. Not too long of a wait. The elevator ride itself is pretty quick and has these visuals flashing on the walls as you go up to the 52nd floor. The views are spectacular with the lights of the city looking at the different landmarks. Walked around the entire space. Then we went down to the next level and then the 50th which had the event going on. Very nice holiday decor with the white Christmas trees. Great photo ops! You can also go to the outer deck - which we did only for a few seconds to get some photos as it was freezing cold!! The event itself had food stations and a bar and music and dance floor. There were tables interspersed throughout. We had parking covered/ free as part of the event at the underground garage but it showed $46 in case anyone was wondering what regular parking price might be for about 2.5 hours. Wow! This place was amazing. The view on the 52nd floor is amaazzzinng! You can see the whole city of Boston from up top, including fenway park, logan airport and a river (i forgot the name) and you have no time limit to be here. Only $25 per adult and $10 per child. They have food and drinks on the 51st floor and they also have a little immersively lit up mini built city of Boston inside. This is a great place to go on a date with a friend or a spouse. They have outside dining and an outdoor deck where you can stand and view the city outside of the building! I would definitely recommend coming here and I will definitely be going back! :) read more

Views are great and have been since the original Skywalk opened. However, I wouldn't waste my money - over $100 for 3 adults. Robbery!! There is little information about anything you are viewing and even the interactive display is more noise than substance. Where is the history about Back Bay or the Emerald Necklace? Although the view was still as gorgeous as it was years ago, when it was just the top of the hub, the restaurant that they've added, and even the bar seemed a bit overpriced for where you were, and although the experience of riding up in the elevator so fast and looking over the city is gorgeous. I feel like they should be adding a lot more to the experience. I brought a friend from Texas and they enjoyed seeing everything and it made it easier to point things out to them, but we didn't last very long and it didn't offer a whole ton of options. read more

The view is great, but "the experience" leaves a lot to be desired. $37 per person is daylight robbery. There's no cafe at the top, no telescopes, no topography maps, no history exhibits, nothing. Just a few touch terminals displaying a poor man's Google Maps that swivel 360 degrees so you can match the view to the map, however swivel them 180 degrees and you end up looking at a wall. DOH! Plus the operators can't decide if this space is for corporate events or tourists. One day we were told they would close early so we decided to go the following day. However the next day we were caught up in another corporate event and had to squeeze into a corridor to find the exit. TBH find a hotel with a nice roof deck and save yourself the money. read more

Located on the top floor of Prudential Building, you really get 360 degree view on Boston skyline. Spacious and clean, with huge clear windows to see everything. I went at nighttime, and the lights were so pretty and romantic. But back in November 2023, it was extremely cold and windy outside (I'm only used to temperate 60-80F weather in Cali), be prepared and bring a thick jacket or coat. We got the standard tickets, where were $29.99 each, which is honestly a tad pricey, but I suppose other skyline places cost similarly anyway. My friend doesn't drink alcohol unfortunately, but if he did, we would've spent some time at bar area. Recently had the opportunity to visit View Boston last week. I got my ticket as part of the City Pass package, which I highly recommend if it's an option for you. I paid around $80 for the City Pass and was able to visit a few other attractions in addition to the view (whereas a single ticket for View Boston is roughly $30 on its own). I came early on a weekday, so it was nice and empty. I was able to take my time looking around. The top level is an enclosed 360 degree level, and the floor right below is an open air 360 view. I was able to get awesome views of the architecture and of course the amazing Fenway Park. Definitely a great spot to visit if you're a tourist in Boston. read more
