I don't write reviews often, but my experience with Vik Staffing was so egregious that I had to post a review. We hired Vik Staffing for an intimate party, and the bartender Vik Staffing sent was severely underqualified. Guests had to google and read instructions on how to make the most basic cocktails (Tom Collins). The bartender literally looked at the jigger and asked what it was. How can a bartender not know what a jigger is? Drinks were so poorly made that guests placed them about the venue to avoid drinking them. Hoping to find a drink the bartender could make, I asked what their favorite drink was and their response was, "I've never done this before." This response was shocking--why would Vik charge us $$$ for someone who can't make a basic cocktail? While I'm sure Vik Staffing has qualified and great bartenders, the bartender they sent over was the biggest dud. I strongly suggest you inquire about the bartenders Vik Staffing intends to send over for your event before proceeding with their services. read more

We used the Vik Staffing for our Corporate Picnic that honored all of the employees and their families at our Construction Company, D-Line Constructors. It was about 150 people at Rowell Ranch in Castro Valley. The crew showed up early ready to set-up so that everything was up and running before the event started. I so appreciate their hustle and positive attitudes. Vik had great communication and organization. The crew was dressed very professionally and conducted themselves as such. This is a HORRIBLE AND WORST staffing experience I've encountered. Vik was just HORRIBLE AND RUDE to work with and the chef he sent to our wedding was very lazy and inexperienced!! And I'll tell you why.... This story went back to June 1st when I first contacted Vik wanting to hire a chef for my wedding from 2PM to 5PM. He got back with me saying that he has a policy of hiring chef for at least 5 hours minimum, so I was OK with that. We agreed on the terms and I venmoed him half of the cost, thinking everything was set in place but I was wrong. I then followed up with him again on June 3rd (Saturday) hoping to confirm everything because my wedding was coming close. We spoke briefly on the phone and he said he was busy on the weekend, which is very understandable, and I respect that so we scheduled for an email on Monday instead. Monday rolled around and he sent me a text saying that he went with my original description, which was not true because I have agreed to hired a chef for 5 hours, and he was trying to cut me short. He said he did not recall our conversation where he mentioned the 5 hours minimum, and that he was going to send someone to our venue for only 4 hours. I was very frustrated and extremely confused because if he did not recall a conversation from 2 days ago, then how can he remember what I ask of him weeks from now. Plus, the 5 hours min is his policy. If he doesn't remember his own policy then who will??? I hope he doesn't make up rules on the spot where he doesn't recall that was what he said. I was very frustrated with the discrepancy so I decided to call him up, hoping to resolve this faster on the phone. In that phone call, he was very rude and angry and he was yelling at me on the phone!! It was Definitely not a great way to talk to a customer!!! I was very hesitant so I wanted to cancel our contract on the spot, but then he back peddled and asked us to keep the contract, so we did (and now I look back, I hope we could have stuck with what our guts were telling us and just cancel the contract). After that phone call, then he decided to change from 4 hours to 5 hours of service (text attached below). Then our wedding day came around and oh boy...The chef Vik sent to our wedding was very unprepared. Chef Daniel DID NOT carry any knifes or equipment with him. He showed up to the job empty handed!!!! According to my wedding coordinator, he was very slow and lazy. He was hired from 2PM to 5PM (for cocktail hour) to just warm up the pre-cooked egg rolls, place the cut up fruits in the cups, and display the meatballs with toothpicks on the plate. Very easy and simple tasks for a chef! Even I can do that myself but I was the bride so of course I had to hired someone else. But of course he couldn't even perform the job right. Fruits were cut VERY CHUNKY, UGLY AND UNAPPETIZING!! Egg rolls were soft and not crunchy!! What kind of chef that can't even perform these simple tasks right???? We had to send him more staff to help him because he was overwhelmed. Then after the cocktail hour ended at 5PM, he was supposed to stick around and finish up his hours but he had the audacity to ask if he can go home early instead since cocktail hour is done. To whoever that is reading this review, please save yourself some headache, DO NOT HIRE THEM, and go with another company!! We held a wedding at our estate a few weeks ago and VikStaffing had provided us with all the staff we needed at short notice. 1. All the servers were very punctual and well dressed. 2. Staff were well experienced at customer service, very polite and courteous. We were short a bartender and one of the servers was experienced enough to cover for our bartender as well! 3. They were so professional. I had mentioned to my friends that it would be nice to have a staffing company like this for parties, but probably way out of our price range.
