Thry also add phantom "government taxes) when you try to check out. lots of potential, but none reached. 2 pools, never enough chairs. Pool bar employees poor at mixing drinks. basically, a waste of time and lots of money for pretty much nothing!! You will be much happier elsewhere. read more

Go and make yourself happy! Reasonable rate for Loreto Airport transfer to the resort via the hotel. Beautiful grounds, check out the all inclusive package. If you go the all inclusive package dinner at the upscale "Danzante" restaurant comes out to about $20 a head for a fancy dinner. I would like to highlight the wonderful things about this property and its service staff. The service staff is incredible, the location is gorgeous, the rooms are comfortable, the food and drinks are delightful. It is a very quiet and secluded area that is perfect for a relaxing vacation. The golf course is serene and the 17th hole has a breathtaking view at sunrise. My only advice to anyone who visits this property is to skip the timeshare presentation and just enjoy everything else the property has to offer. If you plan on skipping the timeshare presentation, there is no need to continue reading. If not, I implore you to read about my experience at this property. Upon arrival to the property, we were greeted by concierge Nubia Carrillo. It should be noted that the concierge staff will promise you anything to sign you up for the timeshare presentation in order to meet their quota. In exchange for a "90 minute presentation", she promised us 2 free Swedish massages and a 1 hour hydro therapy session at the spa, along with a complementary breakfast. As it seemed worth our while we took her on her word. The timeshare presentation lasted 4 hours and after using our "free" spa trip we were charged 4100 pesos (around $200). After addressing the matter with Nubia she claimed she never said they were free. We were quite frustrated after Nubia's lie so we spoke with the concierge manager, Edwin. Edwin was completely unwilling to help and oddly hostile to us as guests of the property. My only reason for giving this property such a low rating is the dishonesty of Nubia and the unwillingness of Edwin to assist in any way. It just does not feel good to be scammed/conned/lied to by anyone. I would have no problem paying for any services rendered, but to say something is free and then be required to pay for it is absolutely dishonest and a terrible way to conduct business. Further, we witnessed and were first to report to a staff member, a woman's attempt to commit suicide by jumping off the the 5th floor balcony. Edwin was also quite dismissive of the fact we were traumatized by witnessing a woman's attempt to take her own life at the property and refuted our claims of reporting the attempted suicide, which I believed to be extremely strange after witnessing firsthand several security staff save the woman from jumping. Instead of apologizing or empathizing in any way he simply ended with "well we couldn't control that." Further upon checkout, I noticed that the timeshare salesman Edward, tried to charge our "complementary" breakfast to our room (about $90). Of course I had this charge removed, but this kind of dishonesty and scam-like action by the concierge/timeshare staff left an incredibly bad taste in our mouths. If you visit this property skip the timeshare presentation, regardless of what they promise you. You will enjoy your stay infinitely more. To the service staff, you all make this place incredible and your guest service is admirable. Nubia and Edwin could serve themselves well by taking a page out out of your book. read more

Don't be fooled. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, winding dirt road to get to the resort. No other restaurants nearby so you'll be forced to eat at the hotel or drive back into Loreto (45 min drive). The hotel only allows guests to enter even if you make a reservation at the spa, they will rudely turn you away. They have a daily guest list of people they will allow in, printed out. If you're not on the list they will hold you for 15 mins. I even made sure to confirm if I would be able to access the spa without being a hotel guest, Daniela G. Informed me I could. However, I was not on the list even with my reservation I had made weeks in advance. I was still turned away. I'm guessing because I was paying for the 25 min massage, ($80 usd) I was not worth their time. She said it's because I arrived at the gate at 10:55am and was too late for my 11:00am appointment and it was not worth it for them. If I had been on the list like I should have been, security wouldn't have held me up for 15 mins. Ended up returning to Nopoló and booked a 50 min full body massage at Spa Las Flores for $50 usd. I'm leaving two stars because there really is some amazing employees here. This was our 4th trip to Loreto, and quite frankly, I'm not sure I'll be back any time soon. When we first started coming here, we really felt warm and welcomed. Now it's just a money sucker, and the service keeps getting worse. I brought my immediate family for the first time. I paid for 6 days x 3 people all inclusive, which ran out at breakfast the day before we left. We went down to "The Market" with my family our last night, who still had one day left on their all inclusive. They proceeded with the buffet, while we ordered off the menu since the buffet USD was $67 a person. Well, the staff decided to come over and warn us about "sharing food" and continued to watch us the entire night. The manager was legit just standing there watching us for 20 minutes. Unbelievable, after all the money we had spent, not to mention what we pay for our timeshare. Absolutely disgusting! And of course, we had to dispute BS charges when it came time to check out. Pretty much happens everytime we have stayed. When we were here in 2021, we sat at the Casa Mia bar right next to the owner of this resort, Owen Perry. I made a joke about hearing there was a party at his house (he has a huge house on the resort) that night. He then looked at me and asked what I was contributing. He was NOT joking ! Par for the course for this place. So glad we did not upgrade our timeshare, as we had considered it. We usedto love this place, but it's not east getting there, and no longer worth the connecting flights, delays, hotel construction and price gauging. Best part ?? The trip started off by the airport threatening to arrest me for one day because I was refusing to pay $100 cash for four cans of nicotine pouches I had brought with me. He wouldn't let me toss them. I want to start off with the entertainment staff. Wow! Honestly the best entertainment team I've seen anywhere. Insanely friendly, remembered our and our kids names from day one, always welcoming us by name and seeming excited that we were at each thing we attended. Very helpful with crafts and activities with the kids. Kids gave them hugs (kids are 11.5 and almost 9) when we left all saying how much everyone would miss each other. They remembered my husband and I from our trip without kids a year ago. Each show (every night!) they perform with excited enthusiasm and are so friendly before and after the show for pictures and just hanging out. They really go above and beyond. I hope that if a manager sees this they give a shout out from the Dylan, Mylah, Noe and Maria and a huge thanks. My kids particular appreciated Ximena, Laura, Mara, Mada, Karla, Jocelyn, Hugo, and many more I'm just bad with names. There is almost always something going on, and always such friendly fun faces leading them. The restaurant staff is also tremendous. Same with first day recognization, including preferences of each family member (like if we sat down for breakfast, they'd remember I wanted a green juice mimosa while my husband wanted an oj one and just got them, others remembering other things). Very friendly! The food is good too. As a vegetarian in a family of carnivores it's not always easy for me to find food where my family eats. I had zero issues and there are several vegan and vegetarian menus. The resort is calm, the kids could touch in the pool and feels incredibly safe. The safest and calmest while not boring or bland. Always immensely clean, well maintained and landscaped. The ocean - wow.  That's part of what brought us back. As far as you can see you can walk out - from shin deep to hip deep for adults, kids could stand and be well below their shoulders, ALL the way out. In the beach area there are only a handful of rocks, it's mostly all soft sand. And so so many beautiful fish everywhere to see. Along the hill to the side is rockier, crazy clear like the rest, with rainbow fish like crazy. On the beach are SUP and kayak rentals that are super easy to use even with kids on the calm water. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas, along with a beach bar with amazing staff, and some snacks. There is also a mini market, if you choose to cook in your room that has a decent supply - including vegan and gluten free foods. Plus essentials and gifts. We found this really helpful. This is like the best hidden gem! We have been coming here for years and years now, probably now 12 years! We love this place. Great outdoor pools great service for dining. I was super happy to see my friends Santo & Gabriel at the dining area they are great! However someone stands out for me and that's Manny who always does such a great job but I must say I was so disappointed he wasn't at the pool!!! We love him there and miss him!! Awful awful awful. I cannot say enough bad things about this place. I have been coming to Loreto for my entire life and we wanted to check this place out as a possible venue for our 2022 wedding. They took the opportunity to rope us into their pathetic timeshare presentation, they said it was the only way to see the property. We were 100% honest from the start, "we will not be buying anything, we just want to check out the place as a potential venue" It started with a painfully awkward breakfast with our sales guy Johnny (YES HE SAT WITH US THE WHOLE TIME) and then it moved into a tragic explanation about "buying a bucket of points" seriously wtf. By the end we were taken to a packed room where some obviously faked sales were taking place. When we straight up told Johnny we were done and needed to leave he got visibly upset. To top it all off, when we tried to leave via taxi cab (not affiliated with the hotel) they refused to help us call them. It honestly felt like we were being held hostage, I had to do everything in my power to not have a full on freak out. Btw - this "resort" is not even nice!! It's outdated and tacky af. Such a sad excuse for a hotel. Loreto has SO much to offer, please for the love of god do not waste your time coming here for even a second. read more

We spent 12 days at this resort, mostly for the golf. We had issues from the beginning: 1. They didn't mention the building was under full construction. 3+ overhead cranes, drilling, jackhammering, all while sitting by the pool. Nor was there any sort of disclaimer on their website. Imagine sitting poolside and it is constant construction noise. 2. Heavy sales pitches to buy a residence. Considering the roads are still unpaved no thank you. 5 years from now I am sure this will be a great resort. 3. We booked all-inclusive yet we still had to sign the bill each and every time. We tipped well of course (in cash - I was told the resort takes 60% of tips added to the bill). We constantly had to dispute the charges. 4. If you want steak/catch of the day there is an upcharge even if you are all inclusive. (seriously). 5. We tried calling in for reservations for the dinner buffet/show. We were told no reservations needed yet when we arrived for dinner all the tables were reserved. After 3 evenings of this we finally had enough and got the manager to fix things. 6. Most importantly is the WiFi! It barely worked nor could we get phone calls in or out. Not good if you need to get work done. Pro's: Service was very good. Gabriel, Jair, Eduardo by the pool, and many more were great. Golf course is very forgiving and the views are incredible. Nice practice range too. Fully stocked kitchens with appliances, utensils etc. Nightly shows were fun. Beach was great, clean. Beach dinner/lunch was good. Spa was nice but could have been better. The market on site was great to pick up basic necessities. Would we go back? Perhaps in a few years when the resort is complete. We normally stay at Excellence in Playa Mujeres, Riviera Maja, and have been spoiled there. Perhaps our expectations were too high for Villa Del Palmar. read more

After 4 previous enjoyable trips to this resort, this time we were faced with disappointment. Check-in was a fiasco, and got the runaround. Not what we were used to as owners here. The first room we were showed was just above the building of a new wing, and the patio and railing dusty from construction. Second room was still unclean and not ready. We we're asked if we could wait an hour. We settled for the third room since we've been up since 2AM, and tired. Management has made no attempt smooth over the bumps. The dining staff is still top notch and very attentive. With so many travel choices, we may think twice about returning here. With two and a half days left, let's see if they even respond. read more

I hesitated writing this but we had such a bad experience and honestly I hope no one ever has to go through what we experienced. Let me start with a simple word " Vanessa" did not get her last name and she removed her name tag in fear of this review. We had decided not to go on the timeshare sales pitch, but Vanessa said she would get in trouble and she would have to pay out of pocket personally, so we decided to help her and she was fast to get us upstairs and get us with the sales manager. I will have to say that it was very interesting and we actually began to find some interest in the program and we would have considered possibly even buying the timeshare, but to our surprise when we walked back to the reception our most infamous "Vanessa" with a straight face lied to us and we did not receive anything for trying to assist her. Again, we did not want any discount we were prepared to pay full price but she insisted she would get in trouble... She didn't have a care in the world to lie, and to only look out for herself. We were traveling with some friends and all of us not to get into detail are professionals in our careers and deal with the public daily. If I had a team member ever treat a person this way it would be immediately looked after and we would make it right. In this case we did talk with upper management and it seemed this is protocol for them to take advantage of travelers and if you don't sign up you are worth nothing to them. We have worldmark and a few other timeshares with in our group and we had never experienced such low quality of service and again to be lied to just so they can gain your time. So, please pay for Airbnb and stay in town, you will have a much better experience than being locked up 40 minutes away from town or being able to enjoy what the real Pueblo Magico is. STAY CLEAR AWAY FROM VILLA DEL PALMAR even if it's free, discounted or simply you get lied to or convinced you will have a good time. You have been warned. read more

Excellent. Definitely 5-star quality service and amenities including a spa with salt and herbal baths, sauna room, steam shower, hot & 'cool' Jacuzzis; fitness center where you can use treadmills, cycling, weights, and a separate yoga room, all with a breathtaking mountain view. You'll be offered a fruit drink to welcome your arrival at the resort. Don't worry, it's not a magic potion that will make you buy a timeshare. Next, you'll be guided to a table with a basin and hand towels where a fresh pitcher of water will be poured over your hands before sitting down to check in. Symbolic perhaps, but very friendly and welcoming. Enjoy it even if you have no intention of buying. The resort is approximately 30 minutes from the airport and is nestled on the Gulf of California with a beautiful, white sandy beach. There are plenty of lounge chairs on the beach and you won't have to stake your spots early like you do in popular destinations like Cancun or Cabo. Also, you won't find dozens of workers raking the beach of seaweed early in the morning and late in the afternoon. You won't be harassed by shell sellers either. No soliciting. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. It has a small tiki bar and Jorge will fix you whatever you like and will even bring you food but make sure you tip him nicely. You can also rent paddle boards or kayaks on the beach. Just be careful of stingrays in the water which can usually be avoided by shuffling your feet. The resort has 3 restaurants on the property: Danzante, The Market Restaurant, and Casa Mia. Danzante was my favorite but it's also a bit more expensive. I'll review the restaurants separately but overall there is a decent selection of meals here. I wasn't wowed by the Market or Casa Mia but the food was generally tasty and service was excellent. Incidentally, I was told that the servers make approximately 90 pesos per day which is equivalent to approximately $8 USD. Per day. The majority of their pay is from tips and they do a lot of work. One of our servers burned himself while making us Mexican coffee (the flames were on his hand) but he continued making the drink as if nothing happened. Someone came over to check his hand and then he went somewhere to have it treated. There is nightly entertainment which is fun and mostly family friendly. Don't volunteer unless you want to BE the entertainment. There is also a disco located in the circular building that looks like a grass hut but we never made it there so I can't vouch for that. An 18 hole golf course is being constructed around the resort with the first 10 holes expected for completion in May of 2014. Mountains and ocean views with beautiful greens and palm trees. I imagine it will be stunning. Five swimming pools and a large jetted jacuzzi pool. The resort had 450 palm trees shipped in just in the resort area. It's gorgeous. The timeshare presentation is one-on-one with an agent. You'll start with breakfast and then make your way to the sales office. They are definitely pushing to make a sale so make sure you know what you're getting into. Keep them on track with the time and you shouldn't have any problems if your plan is to just get through it for an amazing vacation deal. I will say that if I were to buy any timeshare at all, it would be beachfront and this one was tempting. I really loved this resort, the pools, spa, gym, the spacious suite, the relaxing beach, excellent service, and convenient shuttles into the town. My wife and I enjoyed meals here on two occasions and were impressed by the staff, stories, and selection. Everyone at the resort was friendly, courteous, and COVID aware. Rafael, Cris, and Gabriel were exceptional! We really enjoyed getting to know their story, about their families, and how COVID effected their communities. Dealing with food allergies was simple. Even though I speak Spanish (enough to be dangerous) the staff spoke English really well, which made the experience even better; we felt like we were regulars and amongst friends. Yes, the prices are premium. But the quality of the food and presentation are well worth the treat! Nothing beats fresh caught seafood from the Sea of Cortez. My wife enjoyed an excellent steak done just right. The ambiance is excellent. On a cool evening the staff even brought a fresh blanket to keep my wife warm. We think the best kept secret is the flaming coffee! It is not just a drink. It is an experience! Try it with one of their desserts - the mousses is gluten free and well worth it. (And, if they aren't super busy, try to sneak in just for dessert & flaming coffee. You won't regret it.) read more

My husband and I just enjoyed our first vacation together since starting our family. We have been to Del Arco in Cabo several times, and wanted to check out a quieter area to bring kiddos to for upcoming vacations. Palmar in Loreto did not disappoint! The desert setting is gorgeous, the pools and beach were perfect! We did all-inclusive, and the drinks and food were amazing in selection and quality. The staff at Del Palmar went absolutely above and beyond for us. They were so kind and attentive. Special thanks to David, who serves food and drinks at the beach, is hilarious and makes time at the beach so fun; to Bob and Manuel at the Market who were so sweet and greeted us with a smile each morning; and Roberto at the pool who made sure our drinks and ice bucket were always full and kept us laughing. Thank you to each of you, and the countless others who made our stay so special! We did have one negative experience with Alicia, who sells time shares. She was very pushy - she called us 4x before 10am on our first morning there (after telling her we were excited to sleep in), and when my husband finally told her no, she quickly hung up the phone and later left a door of the lobby to close in his face. She was totally unprofessional and rude. We did not let Alicia impact our review of Del Palmar because literally everyone except her was fabulous. But felt worth noting as the interface with her was so incongruent with our experience with everyone else. HUGE thank you's to Palmar and we'll see you again next year!! read more

We had the best time here. The food was excellent. A few notable people there. Cesar was the best bar tender. He taught us a wonderful mixology class. Francisco and Manny were great at helping us at the elite poolside. Eduardo was our waiter at the Market testifies the and was excellent. Jerry was the manager of the restaurants there and was helping us with a good selection of Mexican wines. By the way, Mexican wines are good. One suggestion for the resort, improve on the kayaking. You should have more available. The whole bay you have and only a few kayaks? TPC golf course was beautiful. One last thing we appreciated was that all the staffs took COVID precautions and wore masks at all time. read more

've been to the property two times so now my review.  I always like to give a place a second chance. First the good.  The location of the property is amazing.  Beautiful bay, island and desert views.  If you like to golf, fish, kayak, and hike there are lots of options.  Staff was mostly friendly, except for one rude encounter which I will get to later.  Golf course is great. Now the "not so good".  There was/is MAJOR CONSTRUCTION going on literally feet from the hotel and pool area as well as all over the entire property.  This included giant cranes, huge tractors and earth moving equipment, cement trucks, road crews, jack hammers, saws...etc.  It was extremely noisy and dirty from the construction.  You could hear the noise all the way up into the farthest canyons.  When I was looking into booking the second time, I specifically asked if the construction was still going on.  The woman assured me it was not noisy they were "just doing a little finish work".  I wasn't convinced so I said I would book onsite.  When we got there, the construction seemed to be bigger and noisier than the last time we were there.  VERY NOISY across the entire property.  Sad that they couldn't  have been honest about this when I asked.  We decided to stay in Tripui and just golf a couple times.  Great little hotel in Tripui for $75/night. The first stay we had some issues with our room.  As stated before the room was noisy and dirty due to the construction so you couldn't be out on the balcony.  One day we returned in the afternoon to find our room open. Cleaning staff had left and had the front door wide open.  Fortunately none of our laptops or belongings were stolen.  We ate at one of the restaurants for lunch and it was just OK.  We went back to another restaurant for dinner but it was so crowded we thought we might just eat at the bar.  When I asked the bar tender for a menu, he looked at me and said "Why?",  We're busy."  We had a drink and watched the chaos unfold with the staff running around in circles.  The bar tender was making drinks and testing what he was making.  I watched him lick his hands and thin pick up the glasses of drinks, from the tops of the glasses and serve them (not that this should ever happen, but this was during Covid).  The "resort" and I use that term loosely if you've ever been to a real resort, feels more like a time share hustle.  Construction looks like there is no end in sight with projects that appear to be in the works on every piece of land the "resort" owns.  Glad I got to enjoy the golf course, but I won't waste my time going back, there are too many better options out there. read more

What an amazing place for a completely relaxing vacation. The best place to say if you are looking to escape from reality and wake up to sunlight, mountains, and the clear blue ocean every morning. Service: I promise you that you will never have to lift a finger as a guest at Villa Del Palmar. As soon as you step off of the shuttle, the friendliest men and women are there to welcome you with warm greetings, hibiscus tea, and a cool towelette to wash your hands. Check in is an easy process. The concierge will give you a brief description of the activities and amenities that have available for the guests and then they will show you to your room. Everyone is so unbelievably friendly and welcoming. The employees are probably the main reason why i have been so relaxed on this vacation. The really make sure that you are comfortable, taken care of, and 100% satisfied with your stay. Room: The rooms are luxurious. The standard room for time share holders includes: -Full kitchen stocked with all of your basic kitchen appliances and kitchenware (pots and pans, blender, dishes, stove, fridge, dishwasher). -Washer and dryer -Dining table -Living room area (couch, coffee table, chairs, television). Also, the couch doubles as a pull out bed. -2 bathrooms (one in the Master and one other). The bathrooms include a toilet and shower. -Master bedroom -- the master includes a queen sized bed, 2 person jacuzzi tub, bathroom, closet, television. -The balcony is huge! It is accessible through the master room and the living room. Lounge chairs and dining table are also on the balcony for those that want to enjoy a nice outdoor meal. -The view! Pretty much very room above the 1st floor will have a view of the pool area, mountains, and ocean. So beautiful! Pool: There are 5 pools including a kid friendly pool, adult only pool, and jacuzzi. There are plenty of lounge chairs and poolside dining/bar service. Join one of the instructors for Aquaerobics at the main pool. Unfortunately, the pools do close a little early (9pm) so make use of them during the day. Restaurants: 3 restaurants within the resort and they are all extremely delicious. There is also a mini market stocked with fresh and frozen foods, candy, toiletries, beverages, and other items you may need while you are here. Spa/gym: -The spa offers any services including massages, facials, mani/pedis, and couples treatments. A little pricey but they are relaxing and of great quality. -The gym has everything needed for a kick butt workout. Fitness classes are offered for a small price. I can say so much more about the resort, but what is most important to know is how beautiful and relaxing it is. Definitely 5-star quality. It is fairly secluded, located about 30 minutes away from the airport and the main town. However, the seclusion is perfect if you are hoping for a more quiet, chill, stress relieving, "go at your own pace" kind of vacation. I cant wait to come back! read more

This place was an absolute pleasure to stay at. The hotel is clean, relaxing, with great food and its own water filtration system! That's right, the hotel runs off filtered ocean water, making it clean, safe to drink and totally eco friendly! The staff are above fantastic and helpful and if you take the time to befriend them they are more than eager to friend you back! By the end of the trip all the workers were referring to us in a friendly manner by our first name - it felt like one big family. I got scuba certified through Padi at the hotel. Frank, the instructor, was amazing! He took us on a ship wreck dive our last dive of the trip and really took the time to help us experience some cool things - like holding a puffed up puffer fish! Because the hotel is in a secluded area, you will typically eat at the three restaurants available to you. One is a bar (with fantastic pizza and fresh fish, burgers, fries, even GLUTEN FREE pizza and burgers). Cesar, one of the bartenders, won awards for his fantastic mixology skills and was willing to share his talents with us. By the end of the trip we stopped ordering and had him choose every drink for us - not once were we disappointed. All of the other workers there felt like family, Mario, Cesar and more. The other restaurant is designed to go along with the nightly entertainment shows the hotel puts on for clients. For example, Mexican night, Hawaiian night etc. they have a small entertainment staff that dance and do little shows for you while you eat between hours of 5:30-8 ish. The third restaurant is fancy and requires a reservation - we never ate here but I heard good things. The hotel is located right on the beach and has access to easy hiking trails that you can take over the mountain to private sections of the beach that are great for snorkeling spots and fishing. We came in August, the ocean water was about 85-90 degrees ... Which was a bit warm for us considering it was 100 outside. The swimming pools, though ever so beautiful, are also not very cold so if you come around this time of year be aware of the water temperature. Luckily after a few days you get used to it by always having a cold margarita in your hand and wearing as little clothes as possible (tuff life). I did not check out the spa ( went scuba diving instead) but my sister and mom did and said it was absolutely wonderful - massage is not very expensive and they allow you to stay and hang out the entire day if desired. Both of them came back looking completely refreshed and relaxed. There is a gym, which I used once lol, with lots of equipment and great views of the golf course. At the gym you will find cold cucumber water and hibiscus tea daily! Though everything was fantastic, I have to admit that by far my favorite part about this hotel was the stars. The man who owns the hotel developed it with the stars in mind - the hotel is lit with warm, dim lights that do not interfere with the glittery stars. It was absolutely stunning - we probably saw about 10 shooting stars in less than 7 days. Few tips: the hotel does not have free wifi in the rooms (unless you pay extra) HOWEVER, they do offer free wifi at the pool and bars and restaurants (which is where you will be all day anyhow). You can also get free wifi on your hotel room balcony (which, btw, are the biggest balconies I've ever seen ... So amazing) clearly the man who built this place had client service in mind. Another tip: bring Mosquito repellent and anti inch cream... Those little Mosquitos are sneaky, and hungry! This place is great for a relaxing get a way. It is not a party hotel but the staff are more than willing to make your experience as fun and exciting as you desire. You will not beat the beaches and stars in Loreto and you will leave with an entirely new appreciation for Baja. read more

What can I say about a fabulous 3-night, 4-day stay in Loreto that hasn't been said before? The pictures really do tell the story. We arrived on Thursday, June 30 and took a beautiful 40-minute van ride along the breathtaking Gulf Coast to this wonderful oasis, Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto in Baja California Sur, Mexico. When we walked into our One-Bedroom Suite, I could not believe the amenities we were treated with. There were 2 full baths, a King sized bed with a Jacuzzi tub in the Master, and a Queen sofa bed in the living room. There was a fully equipped kitchen as well, although we enjoyed the restaurants so much that we barely used it. The private balcony with lounges and a full table completed the package. The view of the Islands and the Sea of Cortez was next to none. I was lucky enough to get a personal tour of the golf course with my husband. Non-stop views along the World-Class 18-hole course. The 17th hole is unmatched, and pictures cannot do it justice. The Sabila Spa was out of this world. I chose the 25-minute Chocolate Mint Body Scrub full body treatment, and felt like I was melting. The staff was friendly and professional, and the spa was immaculate and fully appointed. There are several pools on the property, and served as my home away from home for our last full day at the resort. There's nothing more calming than being served drinks and lunch by the pool, and floating all day, soaking in the sun. The food was beyond compare. We were treated to a welcome meal at Casa Mia on our first day that I will never forget. We were also treated to an out of this world meal at the resort's fine dining option, Danzante. Course after course was served and each dish was impeccable. The breakfast buffet at The Market Restaurant was different each day, and wonderful. I'd like to especially thank Alejandro Watson Rincon and Zayra Olivares for their outstanding customer service. We felt so welcome and just like family in our short time at the resort, and we will definitely be back. 4.5 star service! Excellent staff! (except the sales team leader ... most of the sales team are really pushy, even if you're already an owner - that's one of the reasons I wish I could give 4.5 stars on the ratings). The connected but separate rooms are not so private, unfortunately. The patios have a window that connects the neighboring balconies and you can hear and see everything. The worst part, though, is that the adjoining suites only have one door separating them. You will feel as though you are staying with roommates in a dorm because you can hear conversations, pots and pans, or chairs scraping on the floor. It's not like even some more basic hotels that use double doors to separate adjoining suites and keep the noise and light blocked. This is the other reason I did not give a 5 star rating. The rest of the people who work at the resort and live in Loreto are what make this place so special. They really did treat us like family. The buffet is excellent, especially for breakfast and Mexican night. I couldn't do the buffet for all the meals, though. I would be leaving 50 lbs heavier! The spa was very nice, except for the overwhelming scents of the place (oh, and the lobby was just as heavily perfumed), and included several different baths/pools, dry sauna, steam room with eucalyptus, clean and comfortable massage therapy treatment rooms, and a nice locler room area. The view from the "wet room" or pool lounge through the floor to ceiling windows is of the golf course. Be sure to try their spa services and make sure to try the hibiscus water. Most of the hiking trails are beautiful and lead to amazing locations on the beach or overlook the Sea of Cortez. The red trail was disappointing because it was mostly in direct sunlight and did not end at the beach. It seemed to miss the gratifying final destination of the trail like the other trails. Be sure to try all the other trails, though! It's sure to amaze! The resort's swimming pools are laid out like turtle backs and they are very pretty. The shiny mosaic tiles glisten in the sun and water. The kids pools are shallow and are perfect for kids of almost all ages. The staff seem to have fun programs for the kids club. The entire resort's staff as a whole are extremely friendly and welcoming to families, kids, and babies. They even have a crib if you need it. The rooms have a well-stocked en suite kitchenette so that you can spend some time cooking what you want. They have a shuttle that takes you to town so you can shop for groceries. They also have a mini-mart on site in case of emergencies. Every night (or almost every night) they have a theme or activity or show. They plan things out well so that you can enjoy your stay. They have pretty awesome hammocks!!! The fire pits at night are pretty spectacular. DON'T FORGET YOUR BUG SPRAY! But if you do, buy some at the mini-mart. You don't want to become food for mosquitoes! Julian was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE staff member there. Not only did he teach me how to kayak, but he taught me how to stand up paddle board. He was patient with a first timer who doesn't even know how to swim! He is so warm and friendly and PATIENT! So super nice; a gentle soul. If you're a big chicken like me, this is a safe and friendly environment to try out things like kayaking and stand up paddleboarding, both of which are free at their swimmable beach. After over a week at this resort, leaving is like parting with family. I will DEFINITELY be back!!! I just will avoid the sales staff read more

Spent a wonderful week at the Villa del Palmar resort. The rooms are quite comfortable and we were fortunate to have a great view as well. The staff goes above and beyond - we took some wonderful supervised and escorted hikes. Daily maid service (which we finally told them to please not change the sheets every day :) ) We were quite happy with the schedule for the shuttle into town. The shuttle had comfortable seats and the driver was very conscientious to drive like we were special cargo. That being said, the fold out couch was not comfy. They do have the pads if you ask and thankfully one was delivered. There was no DVD in the TV, so finally a portable DVD player was brought (I know, we were on vacation, but we had some we needed to watch). Did not love the fancy restaurant and would not go back. Soup was brought to us and the bowl was so hot that we burned ourselves (even knowing it was hot). The rest of the restaurants on site were good and there are plenty of options in town. Wifi in rooms were spotty and it required us being on the balcony to actually connect. But service all around the hotel and pools were fine - even out in the ocean you could randomly connect! We will go back and are looking forward to the golf course being open as it looks amazing. read more

THE HOTEL OF NO RETURN! We went out to see the place with our friends who were checking it out for their wedding. We had to do a ridiculous timeshare presentation that my wife and I ended up bailing on because our "rep" was simply just bad at his job. The grounds were nice, but the employees literally clueless on multiple levels. First, they only care if you buy one of their intentionally convoluted timeshare plans only purchased through "points." Second, you can't depart when you want to leave! They all said our cab was "10 minutes." We asked everyone how to get TF out of here and they all just asked about our presentation! F me! Today we went to the Villa Spa, OMG, it was Awesome!!! We went in for the 90 minute Signature Massage. From the time we checked in with Adrian and Julian, to Denise taking us to the Sauna, the cold water spa, then the medium spa along with cold water towels on our eyes, again, OMG!! Now we get to our Specialists Isasis and Lina, they were both Super Amazing, Professional and AWESOME!!! They removed all our Kinks, Stress, pains and knotted Muscles. Can't wait to come back. Adding information on: Boat Trip (Danzante island w/ Captain Tony); ATV Tour (w/ Roberto); and, Golf Lesson (via Carlos w/ Pro Danny). All activities are excellent, the natural geologic beauty of this place is amazing and not crowded. Resort is very focused on conservation, even a no straw policy. Did not do everything. Boat tour to Danzante was amazing, incredible seeing dolphins and Caribbean-quality coral/near shore underwater life snorkeling. Captain Tony was great at having kids on board and my wife who gets seasick. He took it easy and drove reasonably. ATV tour was excellent, with 9 year old daughter. Roberto was very safe and kept checking on us. Fair pace, and a little rough-riding, but only after he asked if we were ok with it. Went to GMother Maria's to make tortillas on way back to hotel. Golf lesson for 6 year old was incredible. The TPC course is epic, but more importantly my daughter was treated like royalty by Carlos and Pro Danny. Danny is amazing and very good with kids. The excursions aspect of our stay was great in terms of the natural beauty and conscientious design of the facilities and scheduling. read more

I always seem to have a problem at checkout. The exchange rate for golf and excursions are different from the hotel. When I asked why, they couldn't answer it. Seems a little fishy to me. At the bar having drinks With all inclusive.they don't tell you the charges on certain alcohol. They just bill you for it at the end of your trip. They should tell you if there is an upcharge over your all-inclusive. But they don't. They just stick it to you.. The last time that I was here they ruined all my fish that we caught out fishing. The service at the pool is extremely horrible. Had to wait 45 minutes for a drink. Not sure what's going on with this place anymore. Also while staying here there was a jackhammer going on all day. They kept telling me that it wasn't going to happen anymore. But that wasn't true if the construction isn't done yet why put customers in those rooms where they have to hear a jackhammer hit their wall every day. Very disappointed. read more

Do not stay in this hotel. Nothing to do. The swimming pools are hot customer service is horrible. You get a wristband that you are not allowed to remove. The wristband just unlocks your hotel room. To eat or get any beverage you need to give them your room number. It gets really annoying just constantly asking for room number for everything. Checking out of the hotel they were overcharging me by $200+ US dollars. They could not justify the amount. I refused to pay them the extra amount. read more

This review is for the restaurant Danzante at the resort. It's not listed but here but wanted to leave a review. My fiance and I had dinner here recently and I ordered the steak. If you've read any of my other reviews about restaurants in Mexico (Mostly La Paz) you will know that a great steak is something I really enjoy. While the wait staff and atmosphere was excellent and the resort is BEAUTIFUL, the steak was terrible. It was thin and too fatty (it seems much of the meat here is cut thin, even in the grocery stores). The rest of their menu looked delicious but this is not the place to order a steak. However, we really liked our waiter very much! There is also a restaurant/sports bar outside near the pool and we ate there after doing the hike up to the top of the hills. The pizza was excellent and the beach and resort are stunning. They allow day passes, but you need to check in with the front desk. This is a beautiful area to visit and the staff was warm and friendly. read more

My husband and I were treated to a 4 day stay with our company at the Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa. We came not knowing what to expect and fell in love with the views! The location is impeccable! We golfed, we hiked, we swam, we tried all of the resorts restaurants, we toured the model homes and the beach club and loved everything. This resort is also known to bring in private concerts for the guests and we had the privilege of attending Don Felder of The Eagles concert onsite free of charge. We had planned to ride ATV's, go on a boat tour of the Islands and beaches, visit the spa that all our friends raved about (Maria for massages if your booking) and hit the gym, (which I heard has stunning ocean views) but we couldn't fit it all in. This is the biggest money scam ever. They sell you "points" but never have availability. I have been paying on a membership for seven years as well as annual resort fees and I have not been able to stay at the resort since. I have attempted to make reservations several times and I am told there is no availability I was scammed into purchasing a membership they collect money every month but I have to yet to be able to stay at the resort. It should be mentioned I pay for this membership monthly as well as annual resort fees do you not ever purchase a membership through this company villa group! It's a huge scam read more

We had plans to visit this hotel over spring break but based on the global pandemic with COVID-19, had to cancel/postpone our plans per advice from the US State Department. This hotel would NOT work with us regarding a refund or postponing for a year so we have an opportunity to return. ALL the airlines, concerts, sporting events in the US are shut down and providing refunds or rescheduling options but not Villa del Palmar Beach Resort. They lost my business forever. read more
