One word - amazing. I found this place randomly while…read morereading a blog and knew we wanted to spend some our time in PR in the mountains. This was perfect. It caters to a specific population - if you are looking for a no frills, quiet, scenic getaway in the mountains then this is it. They do not have room service and will provide dinner at an additional cost of $45 (food is all vegetarian). No breakfast or lunch. There is a basket of fruits in the room to make a smoothie if you'd like. Our room was about $300-325. They have three treehouses and typically have a two night minimum. We got lucky and they accommodated us for a single night. You need your own car to get up here. We initially booked the mirador which is the treehouse that is easiest to get to. If you have trouble with walking or have suitcases - go with the mirador. Due to a last minute change on the management's end up we ended up in the La cascada, which is the furthest away. You walk down a gravel path (which also requires going over some rocks). Although La cascada is reportedly the most popular treehouse because of the view of the forest and the river down below, it is the hardest to get to (esp with luggage). Yuquiyu is not a hotel - think of it more like glamping, so you would be expected to get your luggage up and down the trail. There is a cute restaurant/seating area and a reasonably sized pool with a great view. My favorite bit was lying in our treehouse at night with the shutters open and taking it in all amazing sounds of the night forest. The rooms are simple but well furnished. They provide a smoothie maker, kettle, french press, refrigerator and stove. No AC, but fans are provided, which worked for us. Mosquito nets are attached to each bed. There is a supply of coffee, tea bags, granola and honey. In the fridge there was coconut water and non dairy milk. The bathroom was gorgeous! You can open up the windows to look out at the forest while showering. Our bathroom was at the bottom of the treehouse so you do have to climb down the stairs to access it, which I thought was pretty neat. Ernest (owner) and Joel (manager) were fantastic and a pleasure to chat with. We would definitely recommend Yuquiyú and look forward to coming back with more family!

It is a bit of a trek off the beaten path, which only makes it secluded and secure. The sounds and sights were breathtaking. The spaces are small, but they have thought of everything. The only caution is that this is in the rainforest on the side of a mountain...so, leave the stilettos and oxfords packed away, or at least plan to put them on once you are in your vehicle. Also, bugs of all kinds, lizards, and coquí frogs are abound in nature. They have some protective measures (netting, fans, etc) but just be aware and don't freak. Relax, enjoy this heavenly haven.

Our family just returned from an amazing stay in Villa Tuscany. We had nineteen people, spanning…read morethree generations and everyone agreed that this was the best vacation we have ever taken together! When planning the trip, I tried to find one house where we could dine together, and where everyone could have a proper bed in a proper bedroom. I considered all the various islands in the Caribbean. The more I searched, the more obvious my choice became... Villa Tuscany in the Wyndham Rio Mar resort, Puerto Rico. The house itself is stunning and very well equipped for a large group like ours. The villa has a large dining room table, and an adjacent covered patio with another large table so it was very comfortable to eat our meals. The views from the outside area were spectacular. Inside, the house has plenty of rooms to gather, including a pool table downstairs. There was also a ping pong table in the garage which we enjoyed. Plus surf boards, boogie boards, golf carts, a basketball court... really, there was nothing left out. The pool area outside is large and includes a hot tub, and enough lounge chairs for our whole group. Once again, the view is stunning. All the bedrooms were well appointed, and the beds and bedding very comfortable. There were plenty of towels and nice toiletries. We chose to use Jose, the chef, for all of our meals. He was amazing and provided a great variety of delicious meals. It's a tricky thing trying to make so many people happy, and he succeeded. He is a really nice guy, and we enjoyed the time we spent together. He and his staff know how to be present without being intrusive. I really can't say enough nice things about Jose. Really, everyone involved with our vacation was wonderful. Diana, the owner's daughter, is a real delight, and helped make everything happen. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she was always just a phone call away if we needed anything on site. Her local reps were extremely responsive, and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. Damaris helped us with all of our transportation needs, and excursions. With so many people, there was a high complexity in our logistics, and everything went according to plan. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect family vacation.

CREW was in PARADISE. The house accommodated the entire group comfortably, with room to spare. The house had every luxury and amenity you could think of. Diana, was AWESOME to work with from start to finish. She was never to busy to answer questions, even the simplistic ones. I could tell she genuinely cared about us being happy during our stay. Georgie and Kelia were a pleasure as well. Very knowledgeable on the local restaurants and shopping. They even entertained my aunts with the history of the house and the neighboring homes. Jose, the InHouseChef, was AMAZING. Very accommodating to the large group and we ALL ENJOYED the food. My I DO. CREW and I LOVED everything about the house.

The people here are so accommodating; they have 3 restaurants on the property and they are all equally good. from formal to casual you can't go wrong eating at any of them. i'm a marriott member and had some points that i used for one night and im happy i took advantage of it. unfortunately they are converting the property to a 4 seasons and it will be far more expensive to stay here. The st. regis operates like a luxury hotel should. i would give it 10 stars if i could. i used the spa facilities and the massages we got were first notch. and jesselyn was a great nature guide that took us around the property. we are sad to be leaving.

So here goes!…read more For kids There is an animal shelter with dogs and cats and specialist who will educate you about the animals. There is a small farm with goats to feed. My young kids were delighted with this. There is a boathouse area with free kayaking, standup paddle boarding and inflatable playground. This boathouse also offers more high-tech water sports equipment for rent. For families There are adult bikes and children's bikes on the resort that are complementary. There are golf carts that take you from one area to another as everything is pretty spread out. For example, from the main gate to the hotel is a little less than a mile. Only two free breakfast are included with Marriott status. So if you are traveling with kids, you have to pay $22 plus tip for their breakfast every morning. They have a few sand toys to share out on the beach. The large pool area does have Shallow parts for children. For adults The beach here is gorgeous though setback many yards from the hotel. The pool does not have an adult only area that I know of. There is a nice but small hot tub. You have access to all of the spa amenities every day as a guest here. There is a small gym next to the spa and a larger gym called the wellness center which is about Half a mile from the main area. Food issues The main issue here as many other of viewers have stated is the lack of decent food selection. Sea grapes is decent but only open until 5 PM. Paro gets terrible reviews and is excessively overpriced Mediterranean food. However, an Uber from the hotel to Rio Grande is not expensive around $10 and they are good restaurants, but you must do your own research. I recommend Los kioskos de luquillo Which have many food options and it is basically a beach party scene better for adult adults than kids. Service and butler service overall were spotty. We were given incorrect information multiple times. Don't forget to take a ton of cash to tip-wish they would include this in the final bill. Loved the ocean view, comfy beds, and spacious bathroom. Overall a nice stay and would consider coming back if the food options improved a bit!
