I feel bad giving bad reviews but this was a must. Things that were really bad 1) Flies in the dining room. Lots. 2) As we were leaving, the lady behind the counter was serving ice cream, she licked the spoon--didn't realize we were standing at the counter. 3)Health inspection details on Yelp were bad, that explains the flies! Wish I would've read them before taking the drive. Things that were not so bad but not great 1) Hungry man dish prices match the portion sizes which were very small. Maybe because the griddle they use is very small--not a commercial type. More like the one you have at home. 2) No vegan options--that Yelp review that states that "all you have to do is ask", is 10 years old. I asked. The pancake mix is the kind you buy in the supermarket that is "complete". 3) No milk alternatives for coffee. That's the best I can do. We were better off making breakfast at home. read more

In town for an anniversary party, so we were tired from the flight, but needed to fill up in order to get to work- this was exactly what we needed! Came here on a Sunday for brunch and we were able to get a table fairly easily! We ordered a dirty chai latte, caramelized Onion, Brie, and Apple grilled cheese, and blueberry pancakes. The dirty chai was divine! Super creamy and well spiced - exactly what we needed on a cold fall day! The caramelized onion, Brie, and apple grilled cheese was also fantastic! Popped into this cute little cafe while we were in the area one day. This is a small, seat yourself type of restaurant. They had a great coffee selection that you serve yourself. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was good, but it would have been nice if the bread was toasted. My bf ordered a breakfast with pancakes and bacon. This is barn on the best café in town. What I love about Jaime and her establishment is this. It's so important to honor the environment and for people to be paid fairly for their efforts. Jaime uses only fair trade coffee. I had it for the first time today and what seems like years and when I tell you I am now a customer, I certainly am. Cheers to Jaime and her crew for knocking it out of the freaking park. And not to mention as a woman myself who knows how to own a café and knows how difficult it is... A lovely little country style restaurant where locals can hang their coffee mugs on the wall (do you guys have a spot for me?) Food is delicious, and I can recommend the country skillet and my friend had this bread pudding that she absolutely loved and was freshly made. They have coffee in several flavors and I can tell you that their tagline of "the best cup of coffee in Orange County, NY" is spot on. Looking for WiFi and a place to work for a few hours with a laptop? Pretty good spot. Feels like you're hanging out in the sun room off a large kitchen in an old, comfortable home, and the WiFi options are strong from Optonline, TWC, and an open guest "Belkin" network I'm assuming is provided by the cafe. Great breakfast and lunch menu, served all day, and solid coffee selection. And you can drink from a mug if you like for the full home experience. The kitchen is primary focus in this space, by the way the chairs are positioned (the sunny, desirable booth faces the kitchen, not the picture windows to the street) and the large fluorescent panels on the ceiling in the main room. But there is an area off the main room that is a bit more separate from the sounds of the griddle and fridge. Decent option for the remote worker in Warwick area. I drive 10 miles from West Milford, NJ to hang here occasionally. We are not from the area and chose this place for breakfast, best decision! First day we went with 7 people and the next we went with 8 people. We had no issues being accommodated. Both days everyone's breakfast was correct and was so amazing. There was only one cook and it took a while for all of us to get our breakfast, but as I said, it was amazing. Nothing came out wrong at all! Food was very much fresh and a very nice atmosphere. The staff there was wonderfully sweet! Will definitely go there again when we are in town! read more

Oh my god. On the outside, you would never expect that this humble cafe could be so AMAZING. 5 stars for customer service. Self service for top quality coffee, or drinks from the cooler. 5 stars for my breakfast burrito. Everything you could expect and more. 20+ stars for the best Bread Pudding I've ever had. I have eaten here several times and I think the food is really very good. I have had breakfast for a king, cubano sandwich, breakfast burrito and other choices. As I stated, all very good. My problem with this place has really been the service. It was terrible the last two times I have been here. I usually walk by grab a menu nearby take a seat and grab my own drink from the cooler. I get that maybe the owners cannot afford more help there and I do not mind doing that. Last time I was here with a friend grabbed a seat and the place was not busy at all. the cook was talking to what I assumed was the waitress for well over 15 minutes and never even acknowleged our existence. I had to get up off my seat and go to the counter to break into the conversation to place our orders. We order, our food is served to us and still we were ignored. Exactly why would I decide to tip anyone here? This bad service happened to me the time before but it was very busy at the time. Another problem I had was that the whole time we were there the table next to ours was not cleaned or cleared. As I stated before, the place was not busy at all. If this place gets busy they seem totally inadequate on how to handle it. I really hope this place gets their act together on this because the food is good. read more

This place is a sweet, little gem. (I mean little. The place is small and I think the person taking the orders also prepares the meals.) I came here on a bike ride. Most of my group had breakfast dishes and were loving up on the eggs. Another person had the desserts--a cookie and what appeared to be a brownie--it wasn't on his plate long enough for me to know what it was! Coffee is self-served and you get to use one of their mugs to save the environment. I had butternut squash and apple soup. I enjoyed it; however, I think it needed pepper (I'm not much of a salt-adder). I'd definitely go again and possibly get something else. I don't think anyone was disappointed. I come here just about every Saturday to get lunch with my dad. They have the best brewed coffee in the area. All of their coffee is supplied by Equal Exchange and each is unique and delicious (even the flavored coffee is good, and I usually despise flavored coffee). My favorite blend is Love Buzz, which is a nutty, chocolatey and smooth medium roast of South American origin. Sometimes I stop up there just to get a cup, a 15 minute drive each way. The food is always good as well. I often get French toast, which is thick and flavorful and not dry. I am also a big fan of the breakfast burrito, which is just the best breakfast burrito I've had anywhere. The #1 is delicious as well, if basic, but always cooked as I like it. The breakfast potatoes that come with it are without peppers, which I think is critical to making good breakfast potatoes. The last thing I commonly order here is a bagel with bacon. I don't remember where they source their bagels from, but they're pretty good. Call it 3.5-4 stars. And I'm a bagel snob (check my other reviews!). The place can be a little confusing to newcomers. You can grab a menu and a coffee cup to the left of the register and seat yourself. Wait for a waitress to come to your table or head up to the register to order if you're ready before then. Having tried many breakfast burritos all over this planet (including in Mexico), I can not think of a better version of the dish anywhere on Earth. Seriously. I would drive from New York City for this burrito if my lady would let me while we were there. When everyone walking into this place who seemed to have any local knowledge ordered one, I figured there must be something special about how they make it. And there was. The fillings blended together so perfectly that I nearly cried with each bite knowing I was getting closer to the end. Not that the end came quickly since it was a pretty significant portion of protein fit for somebody about to hike the local trails outside of Greenwood Lake. And the atmosphere here is simply perfect as well. It's definitely for a morning social crowd looking to talk. But the acoustics are such that unless the table right next to you is especially chatty, it is quiet enough to think with a cup of something warm. While they say their coffee is the best in the area, being a tea drinker, I was a bit disappointed by their lack of hot tea choices. But their iced tea was pretty delicious (for unsweetened tea). Their wi-fi is fast and they have power outlets at many, but not all, of their tables. About the only real issue with this place is the hours. I get that it's a breakfast place but it's also a coffee shop and I'd have loved to have stopped by here in the afternoon for a drink. I think the staff does an amazing job and they're really friendly when they are open though. It really is a local treasure and a great place in Greenwood Lake. read more

Didn't even get to eat - we stopped in on a Saturday morning, all the tables were taken up. That's fine, we said we would wait. We were a party of two and it usually doesn't take too long to seat two people. I asked them to take down my number and give us a call when a table opened up, because to wait in the small space would mean hovering over the other diners and I wouldn't want someone doing that to me. They said that would be absolutely fine and they would give us a ring. They asked to take our order before we left, which was fine. We went next door to the bookshop for a half hour, not receiving a call. My fiancé went back in to the cafe to check on the status of our table, and noticed that they seated two other tables since we had been next door. I don't know what the food tastes like, and I don't care to ever come back and find out. If they had wanted us to wait there for a table they could have just said so, instead of wasting our entire morning. I would give them one star, but I only want to throw off their average enough to reflect the really inconsiderate service. read more
