I was diagnosed with serious sleep apnea and the cpap machine started changing my life for the better. They need to be more clear on the rules from insurance according to them or their store to keep "renting to own" the machine. The machine I received from them can be purchased brand new for $750 on the internet. When I returned the cpap machine at the end of January 2025 and asked them if I could pick up payments where the insurance stopped!? I asked the total amount of the machine? One lady who I wasn't even speaking to started in our conversation and said they're very expensive. I said expensive is different for every person. Also, regardless of how much money I have or don't have. I'm only concerned with if I'm getting ripped off or not. Which I believe no matter what income bracket you're in still care about. Especially when you've found one the same one for $750 brand new on the internet. Back to the original question. The woman in front of me said $1900 or $2000!? I just laughed and handed her my cpap back to her. I then asked what did my insurance company get quoted? She said $1200 maybe? I don't remember the exact amount, but it definitely wasn't $1900-$2000! Most places when you play cash give you a cash price! From my experience for sure! the reason for having to return it is bc I didn't according to them use the machine for at least four hours every night for X amount of weeks/months and it came to a percentage which I didn't meet. I always made sure to check to see if the mask was properly fitted to my face before bed with the machine and app. I was not told that when the mask would leak that amount of sleep would not be recorded. You were required to have at least four hours per night. Everyone who knows me knows I get 9-10 hours a night. I picked the mask I had, bc I told the tech I toss and turn and she said this would be perfect. I should've been called right when the mask leaked the very first night/time not right before it was almost to late and would have to return the machine (about a month before is when I received a call telling me about it). I was told I wasn't getting the four hours of sleep every night. I was so confused because I was sleeping 8-9 a night. It took multiple calls for her or me to figure out what the hell was going on. I said could it be possible that when it leaks the time isn't being recorded. she said yeah (I think). I was pissed. I said well I guess I need to set an alarm every hour that I'm sleeping to make sure the mask is sealed since I toss and turn in my sleep. She said all you have to do is make sure it's sealed with the machine before laying down. I gave up after that bc I already said I did that and she obviously wasn't listening and didn't care. I'm not a mind reader, but that's what it felt like. Im going to say this even after I spoke to her about getting my percentage up. I started sleeping on my back so the seal on the mask wouldn't break and all hours I was asleep would be recorded. Nope not even then. I went to them bc I care about shopping locally and not giving my money amazon, Walmart, etc. I've read other messages with one star reviews for this business on different sites and the majority of complaints are about the cpap department area in the business located in Herrin, IL! I tried to work with them after all that bc I genuinely wanted to shop local, but if local for them is doubling your prices.... You all are going to be losing a lot of customers if you don't change this. You give discounts to insurance companies, but not to local cash paying customers! Bravo! FYI- everything in that store can be found on Amazon for way cheaper if you're a cash paying person! Zero stars is what I would give if I could!

Ruth has been caring for my dad for over four months and I couldn't be happier with her…read moreperformance. My dad is a former investment banker, and his medical issues are extensive, yet almost entirely physical. Ruth does not simply help my dad with physical tasks, such as going to the bathroom, etc., but what sets her apart from other agencies is that she performs other tasks that I don't believe any other home health agency can or would provide. She assists him with paying bills and maintaining his finances, including going through each piece of mail to ensure it is responded to appropriately, while working WITH my dad so that he is able to share in the responsibility of doing work that he loves, and that requires cognitive wherewithal. Most recently, she just went through the arduous process of dealing with several of my dad's doctors, his insurance company, and the administration at Bethesda to arrange for critical physical therapy for my dad. These tasks obviously require a higher level of thinking than simply helping him go to the bathroom. Also, unlike any other aids we've used from home healthcare agencies, Ruth is not only a registered nurse, but she is a nurse practitioner, and the benefits of having a nurse practitioner doing home health care for my dad are insurmountable. Not only does my dad feel 100% confident in and comfortable with Ruth, but the majority of the home health aids we have used to help with his physical medical needs have minimal, if any training at all. Their highest level of education is often a high school diploma, and any additional education does not relate to the medical field. In my experience, home healthcare employees typically are working for a minimal hourly wage, and, most importantly, rarely have a sincere passion for providing home healthcare services. For most, it's just another job, so to find someone at Ruth's level is extremely rare, if not unheard of. Ruth fills in not as an aid but as a family member (with even more medical training) when we are not available. When she takes him to his countless doctors visits, she is not simply a driver and a stand in, but Ruth communicates, asks questions and acquires any pertinent information from the doctor as I or one of my siblings would. She is completely in tune with his complex medical background, as well as his capabilities and weaknesses. She gently pushes him to do things for himself instead of doing things for him because it is critical that he uses those skills or he will lose them. It's easier to just use a wheelchair to push him across the room to a dining table or use a tray while his remains in his recliner than to assist him with walking using his walker, but Ruth fully comprehends that, although it might be more work for the caregiver, she does what is in my dad's best interest, which is more than I could ask for.
