Needed a space at short notice. My daughter graduated a semester early from college (December 2025), and we wanted to have a party while her other college friends were in town for the holidays. The staff was so helpful!! Offered great referrals for vendors and great advice on things we could do ourselves!! Great rate and plenty of parking since its behind the plaza. My only suggestion would be to put some additional lighting back there because it's really dark at night. I would definitely use this venue again. I need to state up front that I'm reviewing as an attendee of an event here (craft fair), not as a renter or event host. I have zero experience holding events at this place or being on that side of things in any capacity. As an event attendee, though, I liked the space enough. It's not too small, but not that big. It can certainly hold a decent sized event, like a craft fair, with a plethora of vendors. I'd guess there were only about 20 or so total vendors, but they were well spaced out, either due to social distancing or just not wanting to fill up the space. But, there was definitely room for probably double the vendors. The place itself is fine. Nothing splashy about the colors or décor. But, it's reasonable. You can make it your own if you decorate it to your desires. It doesn't feel all that "new" anymore, but I really can't complain about the setup or the condition of the center. I had a party here in September- glad it's over. Definitely not worth the money- actually I believe we were overcharged. Customer service isn't great and place was not clean. The sashes they put on the chairs were nice and they tables were set up as I requested. I would check elsewhere when looking for a venue. read more

Terrible customer service. Which is such a shame. I hosted an event here in 2017 with no big issues, it was a great event. But fast forward to today and I wouldn't host an event here if you paid me. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. They lack the professionalism to respond to a quote request. Five emails later no quote, just their excuse about why they cannot give a quote. If I could give it 0, I would. I've been trying to contact them for an event and so far nothing at all. I was forced to contact the leasing officer for Waugh Chapel Village shopping center and she said a lot of people contact her to inquire about who to talk to for rental inquiries. I have mixed feelings about this place because it is a BEAUTIFUL space and has/had reasonable prices but the person in charge is horrible. This review is long overdue and something triggered me to look it up and see if there were any reviews yet. Well one of the reviews mirrors what I experienced. I'm praying that by now they have gotten a new Point of Contact person, I also was tempted to see if there was a way for me to run the place but didn't know who I could talk to or complain about Mr. Conyer. For someone who has to constantly deal with people, he has no social skills from what I could tell. First, it took forever to get someone to return my calls/emails and the person that was originally on the site had just left (I'm sure it was because she couldn't deal working with him). Finally I was able to get in touch with him and we set an appointment to look at the space. My sister and I met with him and he was very short and rude with us but I was sold on the space. We were throwing our parents a 50th Anniversary Party and I was excited at what we could do with the space. My sister left everything to me because she didn't want to deal with him. Every time I contacted Mr. Conyer about something it was as if I was bothering him, closer to the event I had to meet with him to give him the liquor license which was a hassle all in itself. The day before I met with him to get the key to the building as no one would be available or on site the day of the party. The party went well and towards the end someone came by looking for him because they had an event there some weeks back and could not get back in touch with him to get their deposit back. Well unfortunately he wasn't there and we began comparing notes about how bad it was to work with him. At the end of the night we finished cleaning up and I believe left the key somewhere or maybe I mailed it back. Well of course I never got my deposit back either which I am still salty about to this day, but like I said I didn't know who this man reported to and I just wanted to be done with him. I gave it three stars because I love the place but hated working with that man and never got my $250 back. This was in 2013 so I'm praying that by now they have someone new running things, someone who actually likes people and wants to be bothered. read more

I just love this community center. The price is affordable and more. This hall is always kept clean and you get more than you pay for. I have recently found out about this community center and the event planner is awesome as she always gave excellent customer service to everyone that comes by. I am having my event there in August and I am extremely excited that I secured this place for our wedding anniversary. Thumps up to the entire team! read more

I had a terrible experience renting this venue. If I could give it zero stars I would. We had my mother's birthday party here. We made a whole slideshow to display because when we visited we saw they had a huge projector screen. The day of the party when we were setting up the projector screen was nowhere to be found. I called the event planner but she said she was unable to get in contact with the owner. So we weren't able to use it unfortunately. After the party my family and I spent a long time cleaning up to make sure the place was pristine when we left. Luckily I took pictures on the way out. I called several times about getting my deposit back. The owner finally called me and told me he would only return half of my deposit because I didn't have a liquor license and served alcohol. This was not true because I had a liquor license and posted it above the bar following requirements for Anne Arundel County. I told him as much and he said I should email it to him to prove that I have it, which I did. He then said he couldn't return half of my deposit because I didn't get the required insurance for the party. Which again is not true I also provided him with a copy of the one day insurance we had that covered the event. He then stated the place was left very dirty which was the reason he could not return my full deposit. The place was left cleaner than we found it. He was clearly lying and just looking for any reason to keep my money. I told him that I have pictures that prove otherwise. He claimed to have pictures too. I told him he needed to refund my full deposit or I would take him to court and get it that way. I followed up with an email detailing the absurd phone call that was not responded to. I filed a case in small claims court and served him. He then called me and threatened that he would countersue me for $2500 which is how much his lawyer costs. I told him to please do it and I'll see him in court. He then later said he will pay me my full deposit back. But I told him he now owes my deposit plus the court costs which was an additional $80. He initially refused to pay but later mailed me the check for the entire amount. Renter beware! The owners name is Torrey Jacobson, he is dishonest, and will try to keep your deposit. Please take pictures before you leave the rental hall. I wouldn't recommend supporting this business at all. read more

I held an event June 6,2016 and was required to pay a deposit, it is required that you sign a contract stating you can not get you deposit returned until 45 days after rental. However, the area is inspected for damages within 48 hours. Today is Aug, 25 and its day 55 with no deposit. It would definitely not recommend renting here it is ridiculous that it takes 45 days to return a deposit that should take no longer than 10. It's very unfortunate because the place is really nice and they have an awesome coordinator named Mai Leigh. read more

It is a shame to have such a nice facility, but such poor costumer service. I have attended functions there before, and it was nice. So for the past month and a half I have been trying to contact the office (e-mail and phone) to book a party to no avail. No one answers the phone, and my e-mails have been ignored. Needless to say, I am taking my business elsewhere. I hope the owner realizes how poorly the management is handled before they go out of business. read more

My husband's birthday event was July 2015. I am still trying to get my deposit back. I have been told over four times that it was mailed and to this day no check.
