He Talked over me every time I tried to talk, not letting me complete one sentence. The best way I can put it is the definition of condescending in its truest form: Behavior or language showing a patronizing, superior attitude, where someone acts as if they are better, more intelligent, or more important than others.

Full disclosure - I grew up around the corner from Michael Press. But while we've known each other…read morefor decades, that only matters because its the reason I went to Mike for an engagement ring in the first place. However, it does not, for a moment, affect this review. Sometime a while back, I knew I was going to propose to my lovely fiance (spoilers! she said yes), and started shopping for a ring. Researched the important factors and started looking around, and while i found a lot of nice rings, nothing that really called to me. It was a frustrating process, culminating in buying what I thought would be the perfect ring online, only to return it. That was probably the lowest moment, and so I took a break in my ring shopping. Fast forward some months later, and I saw someone else from my hometown post photos on social media of a beautiful designer engagement ring from Mike Press, and so I reached out to Mike. I had no idea what I wanted, even after all that shopping, and couldn't have been more nervous. I didn't want to design a custom ring, because I have the imagination of a piece of wood, so I relied on Mike to ask the right questions and pick out a number of options. He was patient, detailed in his explanations of various rings and options, and came up with a number of beautiful suggestions. Nevertheless, I still could not make a decision. I was scared of completely screwing this up. I asked a million questions, then disappeared for weeks while I thought about it, only to come back and ask more questions. Mike never brushed me off or decided I wasn't going to be a sale - he just kept helping me along. In the end, not only did Mike find a beautiful diamond but he held it for me in spite of having other interested parties. Sent me photos, videos, descriptions, etc until I was finally able to pull the trigger. With the perfect diamond, he then suggested what ended up being the perfect setting to go with it. I was so trilled with what he put together that I wasn't even worried about whether or not Melissa would like it. Again, it was perfect. I wish I could find more good things to say. This was an incredibly stressful and nerve wracking process but Mike made it easy in the end. I was glad to give the business to someone I've known my whole life, but even still, was not expecting the kindness, patience, and helpfulness to the degree Mike provided. He bent over backwards to make this easy.

That is not the case when it comes to David Jewelers! I got a pair of earrings as a gift for my birthday which cost $129.83. The very first time I put them on, the post bent! I called David's immediately and was told they would have to see them to determine if I damaged them! I am in my 60's and have been wearing earrings all my life and I might add I wear earrings EVERY DAY! I think at this point I know how to put earrings on and take them off! Their refund policy states "no refund without receipt after 30 days". Because I live in Pittsburgh which is a TWO hour drive to Meadville I made another phone call to David's to let them know when I would be coming in. I was told again by the owner's wife that they would have to see them. I was on my way up to Meadville (2 hr. drive) when my car broke down and had to be towed. I was then close to the 30 day period so I called the store again to let them know what had happened. This time the owner, Glenn, answered the phone. He already knew the situation and knew who I was and told me he would not be able to exchange them or give me a refund! He was very rude and I can say I have never been treated so poorly by a store owner! After telling him I would contact the BBB and write a review on Yelp he called me back and said "Come in and we will see what we can do". Glenn suggested repairing the earrings but at $123 I did not want them repaired because in my mind they were defective already and straightening the post was going to make it even more subject to break again! Now I drive up to Meadville only to be told by Glenn when I got there that he would repair them and I stated AGAIN that I would prefer to exchange them. He flatly refused and again I told him I would be contacting the BBB and Yelp. He pushed the earrings toward me and said "Take your business elsewhere". If I was willing to let David's repair the earrings I could have just mailed them without making a 4 hour round trip! Save yourself some aggravation and shop elsewhere because after all the years of being in business, the owner, Glenn does not understand customer service. It amazes me that David's is still in business. I am sure his grandfather who owned the original business is rolling over in his grave!

My grandmother disposed of a dresser in the trash outdoors because the dresser was a biohazard and was labeled as such. Let me explain the biohazard. My grandfather was a clock maker and stored a few of these clocks inside the dresser. The clocks contained radium which made the hands glow at night. Needless to say back its Not safe. My grandfather knocked the dresser over breaking open the radium vials and the extra he stored causing a massive issue. Hubbard fire department wrapped it for us and marked it biohazard and was kept in a special plastic wrap by the dumpster awaiting pickup. We went into the store a month later called extending grace owned by a women named sue. We immediately noticed the dressed and confirmed because it had my grandfather initial's in the top drawer. The fact they took it out of the dumpster knowing it was a biohazard And painted it makes me sick. As a christen man I confronted a man named ED and sue. They got very defensive about taking items out of the trash. A local resident said this is a normal occurrence. The fact is they was selling a radioactive dresser to make a quick buck is disgusting! This place needs inspected because I can't imagine the other horrors that await.
