The Chapel Hill Golf Course opened in 1996 on the site of the former Mount Vernon Bible College. The original Chapel that once served as a place of worship now serves as a rather unique clubhouse. The clubhouse offers typical golf course fare - hot dogs, chips, pop, beer, etc. Rates are generally affordable. We generally try to "walk" most courses but this is one course where we usually rent carts. This course has a lot of ups and downs that not only makes the course challenging to play but it also makes for a long and challenging walk. If you're playing Chapel Hill for the 1st time, I'd strongly recommend using a cart. Then you can make your own decision on your next round. Chapel Hill was in great condition this season and the tees, greens and fairways were all in generally good condition. The last time we played there this season was in November and the course was wet but was still green and well-groomed. This course is off the beaten path for us (we all live in suburbs on the north side of Columbus) but it's pretty reasonably priced and is worth the drive. The staff in the clubhouse and the starter (one of the few courses we play that still has a starter) are all great.

Disappointing Experience Due to Poor Pace Management…read more Horrible experience overall. I absolutely loathe when courses start groups on both nines, and unfortunately, that's exactly what happened here. Our twosome played at a solid pace--finished the front nine in an hour--but when we made the turn, the staff seemed surprised we were ready for the back. It became clear they expected us to be just as slow as the rest of the course. If this is how you choose to maximize revenue, that's your prerogative. But you must manage the pace of play accordingly. Until that gets fixed, I won't be back. The old ownership never did split starts, and for good reason. There are a few courses in Columbus that operate this way, and I don't return to any of them either. Being a fast twosome isn't the problem, letting slow golfers clog up early tee times is. You can literally see from the clubhouse window when players are hitting multiple shots because they can't get the ball past the senior tees. That's not acceptable. To be fair, the course itself was in good shape, that was a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing round.

However they are now requiring a credit card be put on file to book rounds, even if you call in to the pro shop. Their policy says they can charge you if anyone in your group doesn't show. I can't control if a player gets sick or has an emergency. And one would think that having 3 out of four paying players is better than none at all. Agreed with the above statement as well about them making people pay full price to come along. These guys have become greedy and unrealistic. Especially for a course that is nothing special. The good news is, this land will fetch a good price for residential development. They will be out of business rather quickly if this is the sword they have decided to die on

Great course with exciting updates…read more I stopped out at Wyandot recently and was really impressed with how much the place has improved. The new ownership is clearly putting a lot of work into both the course and the clubhouse. The course itself is fun and very playable, with a good mix of holes that make it enjoyable whether you're a casual golfer or someone trying to score well. The layout has some really nice character and the conditions keep getting better. The clubhouse upgrades are noticeable too. They've added simulators, refreshed the space, and the bar is open again. It's a great spot to grab a drink or quick bite after a round. They also have grab-and-go food and fresh coffee, which is a nice touch. Overall it feels like the course has new energy and momentum. If you haven't been out in a while, it's definitely worth another visit.

For myself and my golfing group of 8 golfers, Clover Valley has been a favorite course to play regularly. With that said, I had the opportunity to play Clover Valley on Sunday-March 29th for an 18 hole round. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed in the overall general conditions of the course. Having said that with the realization it is late March and spring weather conditions create some challenges in course condition. However the current course conditions and overall quality are the worse we have ever experienced and were very disappointing to the point of the agreement we would no longer include Clover Valley in our course rotation Due to the poor conditions of the course currently. Very disappointing to see this major decline in overall course conditions especially when you realize the many public course available in the Columbus area. What a shame.
