My wife and I enjoyed ours tonight stay here and found it relaxing to be off the beaten path a bit. Great location if you like to visit wineries in the Hye area (Hye Cider Co & Hye Meadow Winery are awesome stops). We stayed in the Longhorn cottage and enjoyed coffee on the front porch rocking chairs every morning. The Texas wine collective is literally next-door to the property and worth a stop too. On your day of arrival, you will be sent the gate code to get into the property as well as your individual cabin lock codes. There's not much lighting on the property, but fortunately our parking spot had a small light so we knew where to park. read more

Beautiful, private, quiet cottages. There is a lovely sitting pavilion to enjoy sit or you can walk to the Texas Wine Collective next door to enjoy a flight or tasting. There is a short walking trail to the Pedernales River. Internet is great, Direct Tv in rooms with mini fridge, plates are, silverware, and complimentary water. Microwave, coffee machine, wine glasses and wine opener available in room. read more

Cabins were great! Very clean and well decorated. The location is perfect, it's about a 10 min drive from Main Street. I would recommend having a food truck or something on site as it was difficult to get food delivered. But everything else was great! I would recommend this place to friends. read more

Pros- Location! The cottages are behind a vineyard on the 290 wine trail, so you can walk there and hop on the shuttle to the other vineyards. The cottages are cute inside, and overall my friend and really enjoyed our stay. Paul, who does the maintenance, was amazing. He quickly fixed a door that wouldn't lock and gave us great dinner recommendations. Cons- if you aren't in one of the stand alone cottages, noise from the adjacent room may be a problem. Our neighbors were very quiet but we still heard every time they entered and left, or opened any doors or cabinets. Housekeeping left used towels hanging behind the door in the restroom. read more

My friend and I stayed in the rodeo cottage. The entire experience was amazing! The room was very comfortable, nice beds, clean and more than any cottage I've stayed in (kitchen sink, dishes, microwave, fridge/freezer, etc. The party pavilion is a gorgeous place to spend the evening with friends and family. The porch swings and rockers on the cottage porches were a wonderful thing lace to enjoy the great coffee they provide. We will definitely be back! read more

2 years ago we made our first trip to this quaint German community. We weren't sure where to stay so we stayed at the LaQuinta. It was nice, but no real flavor. We found Vineyard Trails Cottages when visiting a nearby winery and made a mental note to try it out on our next visit. So glad we did! It's now our "go-to" place. Clean, quiet with all the amenities you need. Plus it's so close to virtually all the wineries! We particularly enjoyed an evening walk to the river which runs behind this gorgeous property. 5 stars. read more

The cabin is very nice. Started to watch tv and realized there is no satellite box. Texted the manager. Downside to the facility is there is nobody on site if there's any issues. Can only communicate via text. The manager responded fairly quickly. Previous guest unplugged the cable from the box which was behind the tv on the wall. Very strange and what a pain to have to deal with it. Overall great experience, but has room for improvement. The room could use a bigger table and an additional trash can. read more

A serene getaway in wine country! Spacious, beautiful, and clean cottages for adults only- they allow no kids/pets ($250 fine)... it may be due to the small pond fountain being a liability. It's gated which keeps it pretty quiet and they have a cafe on site. Will be back! read more

Came here with my mom and aunts for Mother's Day weekend! The cottages are absolutely adorable. The beds were comfortable and the setting is so serene. We loved the party barn in the middle of the property. We hung out here, drank wine, bbq'd, listened to music and met a lot of the other guests staying that weekend. Everyone was so nice and friendly. We loved being able to walk next door to 4.0 which is one of our favorite wineries. The location is good because it puts you within walking distance or a short drive to quite a few wineries. Also only a ten minute or so drive to town. We will definitely be back! read more

Our family booked the entire place for our son's wedding. Both families stayed there including the wedding party. All I can say is WOW!! It was fantastic, As the mother of the groom as I was in charge of booking the property and assigning the cottages, so the pressure was on to get it it right and place everyone in the right cabin. I was emailing Patience constantly, she was a dream to work with, She knew exactly where to put everyone. Having both families there made the wedding! We would meet everyday in the covered patio sit around the fire, drink wine and get to know each other. The patio was so big there was room to practice our dance for the reception . My son said after the wedding that staying there, was almost better than the wedding itself. It was so nice to just walk out your door and be able to visit or get wedding stuff done, didn't have to call or text anyone, just met outside or knocked on their door. If you are having any kind of event with a large group I highly suggest this place, Each cabin was decorated so cute, and they are just far enough away from each for plenty of privacy but close enough to socialize. I want to go back with my girls!! and the 4.0 wine cellar a short walk away was a big plus too. The gated entry made us all feel safe and secure as well so glad we . This is a great place to stay! 10min ride to Fredericksburg! Our stay was so relaxing and peaceful, cabins are absolutely beautiful. It's a new location, everything is and smells like new! I selected Vineyard Trail Cottages for a Girl's Birthday weekend. I specifically selected the Rodeo Cottage because the birthday "girl" loves Rodeo decor & Porch Swings and THIS cottage had both. The theme for the birthday celebration was Rodeo and Wine, including a "cow" birthday cake to match the chairs in the cottage. When we booked with Vineyard Trail Cottages, ALL of the double room cottages were available with the exception of one cottage. I booked the Rodeo cottage, I received the confirmation with the Rodeo Cottage listed as the reserved cottage. This was 5 days before check-in. On the day of check in, I received the text with the check-in code for the property gate & cottage. Upon entering the cottage, I realized the cottage was NOT the Rodeo cottage that I had reserved AND this cottage did NOT have a porch swing. I sent a text to ask why we were given the code for another cottage. The host, Patience C., replied, "I had others who wanted to have their cottages together, so I moved you". No communication before she did this, no communication on the day of check-in, she just moved us without asking or notifying. When I sent two more messages with questions, she completely ignored me, never responding. There was absolutely NO reason for her to have done this. The people she put in the cottage we had reserved were all adults, it isn't like it was a family trying to be close to the children; the cottages are close enough together that the couples would have been close in separate cottages. When I received an email with the charge to my CC, once again, it listed the Rodeo cottage. The cottage was OK, but the host is very inconsiderate and rude. THE LEAST she could have done was asked if we would mind moving to another cottage.  Also, the hot water ran out during the first shower before my friend could even shampoo her hair. We had to wait 40 minutes before the next person could shower. There are so many cute places to stay in and around Fredericksburg. If you are looking, don't stay here. read more

The rooms are nice, but what I do not like is the fact our entire group could not get the lady to answer the phone when they gave us the wrong code to the door. Called from a couple different numbers to which nothing.. finally went to her father in laws house which is kinda part of the property and he was able to get a hold of her and tell her the problem. She did not call even then and make sure it was taken care of but yet another text. Extremely aggravating when paying 300/night for a room. The remote for the tv was hard to work and had to be pointed in just the right spot to work. Again this place was nice, but for the money not at all worth it. They leave a coupon in the room to Andy's steakhouse for breakfast and thought that may redeem our overall experience.. it's a hotel style buffet basically and it cost $11 and the coupon is only worth $7... mayb I'm nit picking but extremely disappointed for the price.. read more

We are packing up to head home, and we don't want to leave! This has been the perfect "home away from home" for our first trip to Fredricksburg. We enjoyed the fact that we aren't right in town. Rather, VTC is nestled in the heart of wine country. We've seen lots of deer, and armadillos around our little cottage. And, the rooms are darling!! They gave us vouchers for a delicious breakfast restaurant in town. We are looking forward to coming back! read more
