My wife and I finally visited this cute storestaurant (I'm coining that term) after years of hearing rave reviews from family and friends. It is a charming and well stocked wine-focused store, with a restaurant to boot. I have come for both lunch and also the much sought-after wine tastings, which are very fun and delicious. The knowledge that the staff exude is exemplary, especially for the Wausau area. From unique varieties, preparations, vineyards, and grapes to many more criterion way over my head, they have you covered. Our most recent experience was a wine pairing event. In this format, there was a charcuterie board with different ingredients intended to be paired with different types of wines. There were also plates served as well - soups, salads, and sandwiches - that were all delicious (most are available on their main lunch menu as well). It was very interesting and classy. Their sommelier explained the differences between the numerous wine samples, how to serve them, how to pair them with food, and we enjoyed the entire event. Their wine selection is incredible, with options for every taste and budget. I will definitely be back to find a bottle for a special occasion. Went here on a Monday for lunch and to do a little work during the day. First thing I will say, do not go here if you are in a hurry, or just order ahead for pickup. I'm not quite sure why, but service has always been pretty slow whenever I've been here, even if there is no line. They are quick to take your order, but wait time for food has always been a little long. That being said, my friend ordered one of the specialty latte's and that was made pretty prompt. I ended up ordering the soup and salad, of which the soup of the day was a chicken, spinach, and rice and the salad is their mozzarella caprese. The meal also comes with a roll, which I think was the biggest disappointment. It tasted underbaked to the point of raw, but definitely didn't look like it. It was pretty unappealing and left me feeling a little sick after trying it. The soup was very rice forward with just some shreds of chicken and almost no spinach. I actually ended up adding the spinach from my salad to it. The salad was the highlight and actually larger than I was expecting. It had ample amounts of greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and little mozzarella balls. I also appreciated that they gave the balsamic dressing and pesto on the side so I could add it accordingly. Overall, I've been here a few times and their previous location on Grand Avenue, and the staff has always been very friendly, but service is always a little slow. I will also say that the price is a little higher than I was expecting, but I get that everyone has had to raise prices through the pandemic, so that is fair. Found this place on Yelp as we were passing thru on Hwy51, had a taste for an upscale sandwich and the menu sounded good! we phoned our order in and it was ready when we arrived . The restaurant was very pretty inside tons of bottles of wine and other liquors on display to purchase and I suppose drink inside there. There was also a small bakery display with scones & other goodies. We had ordered 3 meals , 2 Grilled Turkey Berry wraps & 1 Grilled Chicken Caesar wrap all Came with their seasoned kettle chips. We also ordered a couple of scones. Got back to the car and started opening the to go boxes ( which they charge extra for .60 cents a box) inside was a very flat wrap and very very salty seasoned kettle chips tasted like old Bay seasoning . The wraps reminded me of school cafeteria food kinda tasteless not very appealing. We were starving and ate half of our wraps & 5 kettle chips , it would of been nice to have gotten pickle lol We were so happy to have bought the scones as those were delicious !!! As soon as we got to the nearest gas station we dumped the rest . Needless to say we won't be stopping there again read more

A quaint little underrated Wausau gem. This place is very beautiful. This is a new location. It is very very spacious with lots of seating and even more wine. The staff is very friendly. I was tempted to order wine when I went there in the morning, and she told me how a lot of people who work overnight shifts at the hospital will come in at 6am or the "end of their day" for a glass. Very cool! I ended up with the lavender latte. My friend ordered the almond latte and oatmeal. All of which was very very good. We sat and studied for a long time. Many people stopped by to visit. Atmosphere: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Bathrooms: 5/5 (two: one men, one women) Friendliness: 4/5 I would definitely come back to try their kale pineapple smoothie. read more

I was looking for a quiet spot to connect to WiFi and maybe have a bite to eat. I found Vino Latte and thought I'd give it a try. The ambience is inviting, warm and very well done. Plenty of choices of seating from high tops to small tables couches and chairs. The menu is small but well thought out and a nice variety. I had the Grand Cuban Panini. My side item was the Pasta salad. Being a Florida native I am super picky on my Cubans. This sandwich was delicious. The pasta salad was outstanding. Most get this wrong. This was a pesto pasta not overdone with broccoli and some graded Parmesan cheese. Delicious! I paired it with a Pumpkin Pie Latte and a Raspberry Oat Bar. Both perfectly prepared and delicious. If you are in the mood for Vino, their wine selection was very good. The prices very competitive. They have a by the glass self serve too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing a respite from the chains and hustle of overpriced low quality/quantity food from competitors. I WILL be back! Often times when I visit a new coffee shop, they will have some featured drinks that are signature to them. This place was no exception, so I asked, "What's in the Red Eye?" Simple answer and quite snooty, as the dark, tall hair lady serving us said, "it's just like it sounds"! Ummmm. Ok. I'll save you the trouble of asking. It's espresso. They hand you the cup with your preferred amount of espresso and then you make your way over to the coffee pots and fill the cup up to your liking. Unfortunately, the coffee was bitter and tasted similar to the crappy hotel coffee I had earlier in the day. Unless you want a glass of wine with your coffee, I highly recommend you just grab a Starbucks, which is close by! read more

Love Vino Latte for getting gifts or having my favorite coffee drink or hot chocolate. The new place on Stewart has a warm atmosphere. I love the amount of seating they have. Their food is still so good when I want to meet friends for breakfast or lunch. I do miss the Grand Ave. location they had, but make it a point to get to this new location. I'll start my review off with the positive aspects. I had my first visit to Vino Latte about a month ago and was very excited to try it as I've heard good things. The location itself is very nice - neatly kept and inviting with plenty of seating available. The coffee and wrap I ordered were good, although my food was made incorrectly after I specifically asked for a particular item to be omitted. Not the end of the world, but annoying. The downside of my visit was that the service I received left something to be desired. I stepped up to the counter and was immediately met by a scowling employee. The lady taking my order seemed irritated to be there and had a very negative vibe in general. It made me feel unwelcome. I haven't decided if I'll return again as that one employee's shitty attitude really left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Brilliant concept. Medium latte was Hugh, creamy and delicious. Carrot cake and chocolate torte were a little on the small side for the price but were delicious and filling 2 lattes and two desserts were $19 which is a bit steep, even where we come from in NJ.
