    Tapas de tomate, muuuuyy ricas

Pretty place, great atmosphere, little hard to find parking. The food was ok, nothing spectacular, but we only had an entree and pastas, so we definitely need to come back and try something else. Tapas with tomato are a must, the bread is so good. Fettuccini with mushrooms had a lot of sauce and made it really liquid and hard to eat. Pesto pasta was ok, not a lot of flavor. Good wine selection but in the menu they had craft beers but most of them were not in stock.

This place is a hidden gem. Literally, it's hidden. However, there is a sign and there is a door, and it's on Tecate's main street, just a few meters before the Plazuela (same side of the block). I loved the patio, very inviting and food was OK. I had Fettuccine Alfredo which was very tasty, but my boyfriend had the Sevillana steak and it was not good, to be honest. However, I would come back because of the atmosphere and the great service.

Found one of the prettiest restaurants in Tecate, B.C., El Lugar de Nos, owned by Chef Mariela…read moreManzano. The restaurant is full of beautiful art and little treasures that make the whole space feel magical. The service was amazing and very quick. They also bring a stand for your purse. All the food we ordered was phenomenal. We started with guacamole for the table (shared between six people) and it was the perfect portion. For brunch I ordered the Tostadas de Borrego (lamb tostadas) and pork belly tostadas with pozole, and every bite was incredible. The lamb meat was super tender and flavorful. The pork belly was flavorful and with the pozole created a nice bite. Definitely adding this spot to my "must go back" list and try more from the menu.

Also tried the quinoa salad and a beet plate from the specials menu. Both were insanely delicious, with portions so big I couldn't even finish. The vibe inside is adorable. It's kind of shabby chic farmhouse, cozy but stylish. I had a spicy mezcal margarita that was smoky, refreshing, and came with a frozen watermelon garnish that was such a fun touch. Service was super friendly and attentive the whole time. Definitely recommend making a reservation since it gets busy. I'll absolutely be going back.

what an awesome little spot just off to the side of the street. it sits on the corner of the side…read moreroad to which we turn in to get to Casa Encinares B&B. It's an outdoor wooden shack, no doors. we noticed it because there was a sign that said "beer" and we saw lots of people there. our host at the B&B told us we must try it before we leave, so we did. as soon as we sat down at the bar, a big tall gentleman came to greet us. he spoke perfect english and made some awesome recommendations. BF had a couple of beers (cant remember what they were, but i believe it was local), and because i wasn't planning on drinking more (we just got done with a small winery tasting tour), but Chris recommended i try the cocktiel de guayaba, its a bourbon cocktail with guava! It was only 40 pesos and if the owner recommends me.....why would i refuse? we were super hungry so we wanted something light and Chris recommended the pulpo ceviche (100 pesos). My drink was ridiculously tasty as i am a huge guava fan and the bourbon balances the sweetness of the guava with the liquor. the pulpo (octopus) ceviche was wonderful and delicious with just the right portion and served with thin tortilla chips. Chris was so kind and chatted with us almost the entire time we were there. i HIGHLY recommend stopping by here for a quick drink and light bite even if you are here to explore the wines in this wine country. my only mistake was that we came here after having drank so much already from visiting all the wineries!
