What a special place. I went in yesterday to find a small cast iron to cook on a propane stove and, wow! I found a great pan, a cool "house" for matches, bottle openers and a fork tong. Had to work today so wasn't able to go back but may try before I leave town tomorrow. A true gem. Oh! And least I not forget! The owner was so gracious and informative. I learned even more about owning cast iron. This place is ver special. read more

I have grandmas cast iron rabbit cake mold. I tried calling Vintage and got no answer and the phone mailbox was too full to leave a message.. FB and google search said shop open so I drove to Winterset and shop was closed... looks well maintained and other merchants in area weren't sure if shop was open. but had a very nice lunch in Winterset read more

I happened to walk by this place a few days ago and I wanted get inside as I love the old cast iron cookware, not the new junk they sell today as I feel they are trying to ride on the laurels of the antique cookware. I'm sure Doug can sell you new cookware but why would you want it when the old stuff is by far better than the new. I finally got in there the other day and it is an array of awesome cookware in cast iron! I thought I had been in the 10 minutes and when I left it had been over 2 hours. My wife called me asking where I was is how I found out. If you like the unusual in antiques and cast iron cookware and cast iron toy cookware this is it! I don't see this big of display of modern cookware anywhere! I love this place and could spend a lot of money here. read more
