They are "creeks" separated by a wall but they both have a very similar feel. So similar in fact that I asked my girlfriend... "Do you think these shops might have the same owner?" The atmosphere is low lit and cozy and the collection of merchandise is eclectic. Definitely not something that you run into every day... I'm not sure how to describe the merchandise. Pine Creek offers some seasonal and smaller home furnishing. More leaning to home good. And some items on Harvest Creek you don't necessarily think of when you think Iowa. Some border what you think of when you think wiccan or occult (not in a bad way though)... If I had to guess the owners have their own personal tastes and interests and they stock the shops to align with what they like and hope the market finds them. We really enjoyed looking through both of these little shops and they are ones I would encourage anyone coming through the Winterset area to stop and check out both Harvest Creek and Pine Creek Ltd!

I also love that if you want to try any of the candy before you buy it, you just have to ask and they will give you a sample. Now, know that since it's a specialty store inside a mall, the prices are going to be higher than if you are buying candy from another store. But I would argue that in my experience, the increase in quality from Lolli and Pops, along with the expansive selection, makes the slight mark up in prices worth it. I have tried their gummy bears, other gummy treats, and their gourmet (and giant) peanut butter cups. I LOVE their cocktail inspired gummy bears. If you like them, I highly suggest buying the refillable gummy bear. Not only is it better for the environment, but it gives you half off your refills FOREVER. Yes, FOREVER. It's great. There were about five employees in the store, one working at the ice cream section, some making popcorn, and some in the back makingCandy. Everyone was keeping busy, but they all greeted us. One of the gals offered to help and told us about the specials right away. We bought fudge because my husband and son love it and I bought truffles. Everything was delicious. I sampled a little bit of the salted caramel corn, which was equally tasty. I wish I would've bought some. We got some of our delicious candy and headed out. I really just love the atmosphere and how they created their space for their Candy shop. If you don't drive out to Marshalltown anytime soon, they also ship out all over the country.
