They are preying on freshman girl dorms at Texas Tech. They put fliers on cars in dorm lots saying pedicure for $25 and then end up charging over $60. When girls complain and show the flier they argue with them. When I called and spoke with them calmly about it, they hung up on me and would no longer take my call. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

LOVE this place. Have been going since my freshman year of college when my friend recommended me & now on my 3rd year at Texas Tech. Have built an amazing relationship with the owner Olivia and Henry. Both are amazing individuals and super talented in what they do. They are way under rated and hope they get the recognition they deserve. Super reasonable prices as well for the amount of work put into. 10/10 recommended this place to everyone that ask for a new place to try! *** must i add!!! We drove in from Dallas and got in at almost 11! My cousin booked my husband and me pedicures for 10:30. I was so shocked when they said they would wait. I was even more surprised when they didn't make us feel rushed and still took their time with our pedicures. They did amazing and were so friendly! This is the worst set of nails I've ever gotten in my life. I wish I was being dramatic when I said I've done them better myself with a machine at home. -The application is horrible. He didn't even file the tip of the nail onto my real nail like most experienced technicians so the edges are poking out on the corner of my nails. They're all uneven and he didn't file them smoothly because "the top coat hides it".... it doesn't. -The lengths are all over the place and unproportional. I had to ask him multiple times to fix it, which in return he got an attitude. (Henry did them). -There is glue and polish all around my nails on my skin where there shouldn't be. -You would think, at the very least, someone with his experience would know how to do square, straight nails, but clearly that was too much to ask. -You could tell Henry was rushing to get me out for whatever reason and didn't care what my nails looked like. I'm pretty sure the younger man who works at this salon is not licensed. He did my nails and filed them using the drill on the bottom part of my nail and hardly filed the top. He also did not understand how to do a traditional round shape. My nails ended up looking pretty deformed and it took him over two hours to do them. Me and my mom came in for a fill and Henry (sitting in a massage chair , legs crossed on his phone making no movement other than scrolling) said "Only a fill today ?" we responded with yes, under the impression he would do them, my mom washed her hands and i sat down thinking he could do her nails and I wait. While my mom was washing her hands he asked if I could come back because he has no one to do my nails. I told him no I'd just come back another day and by the time that was over my mom came back I explained to her the situation and he said he couldn't do my nails. Please take your time and money elsewhere. I went to get my nails done, and my nail tech cut me to the point I bled when cutting my cuticles. He didn't even try to help stop the bleeding but he put NAIL GLUE on the cut and continued with the service like nothing happened. My nail still aches and hurts a day later. I have come to Vintage Nails a number of times because my favorite nail tech in Lubbock worked there for a little while, but the experience in this salon is absolutely horrible. Here are just a few of the reasons why you shouldn't waste your money here: 1. Expect to wait a minimum of 45min to begin your service (even if you've called ahead and set an appointment!). 2. Even after they've started your service, expect not to be done for another 2+ hours. They will start on you and have you "soaking" in acetone for 30min while they start on a new costumer. 3. Basically, don't come into this salon if you have anything planned, at all, for the rest of the day. 4. THIS SALON IS COMPLETELY UNSANITARY. I have watched them reuse tools in the pedicure station without even washing them first. It's also very obvious a health inspector from TDLR hasn't come into this salon for a very long time. 5. The owner flirts with female costumers (even underaged women). 6. They serve alcohol to people under 21. Really, it's a surprise this establishment is still in business. There are several other salons in Lubbock, please don't put your money toward this one. read more

They told me 15-20 min wait, and sat me in the pedicure massage chair and filled the bowl up with warm water. 1 hour and 5 minutes goes by with no mention of how much longer it will be or anything. I take my wet feet out and put my sandals back on and walk out. Owner says "sorry" as I'm walking out. Poor customer service. If they would've just kept it real and said "come back in 1 hour" we would've done that instead. Hate to leave 1 star but it is what it is! read more

I've been going here for going on 2 years now. I love Olivia and Henry. It's the cheapest place you'll find in Lubbock to do nails and it's quality work. I've never had a broken nail in all of this time. You're treated like family here. Yes, you can have a bit of a wait if you're a walk in (but seriously just make an appointment.) Absolutely love Vintage Nails! I won't go anywhere else. Henry is so amazing and has great customer service. He won't let you leave unless you are happy, he will fix something if it's not how you like it. You can also come in within two weeks and have anything fixed if it gets messed up for free. They are understaffed at times so they wait can be long, so don't recommend coming in on a time crunch. It's totally worth the wait though. I went in today for manicure and pedicure because Princess Nails wasn't taking cards but I really wanted and needed my nails done. The lady that did my toes nails was nice but I was not happy with the shape of my toe nails at all. once I got outside I could really see my feet weren't properly scrubbed and she didn't put on any lotion afterwards. And on top of that the white color that they used was basic and flat (will add pictures). So moving on to my nails I asked for short stiletto nails which I got....but they are bumpy and look super weird. First and last time going here. Great customer service though. UPDATE: I went in today around 11 and it took me about 2 hours to get a gel manicure. This was also the most painful manicure I have ever gotten. The first girl who treated me ripped at my cuticles and made me bleed. The only reason I'm not changing the rating by much is because the man who took over after her did a really good job and shaped the nails just as I asked. He probably saw I was in pain. ---------------------------------------------------- LOVE it here. So cheap compared to all of the nail salons in LBK. The staff is so sweet and make sure you get exactly what you want. My nail tech made sure I approved of any changes she was making and (who I assume to be) the manager was the sweetest person ever. $29 for dip and no extra charge for added tip! Please do not ever come here. the prices may be cheap but you 100% get what you paid for. my nails are bumpy and just all around ugly. i've spent 30 minutes scrubbing them and there's still so much powder stuck to them (as you can see in the pictures). it also took 2 hours just to get acrylics with powder. they were so rough on my nails that i got cut once, then two of my fingers split from them pulling so hard while filing. he noticed one split because i pulled my hand away, then GLUED IT BACK WITH NAIL GLUE!!!! please save your poor fingers and don't ever come here. My roommates and I came here. We were there for 2+ hours. Ladies continued to walk away. My nail technician asked if I wanted tip and I thought she meant French tip so I said no. Then she started doing my nails and they looked lumpy and uneven. Then my roommate went and she said she wanted longer nails but no tip (as in French tip) and i said I wanted that too and they got upset with us so they made me stick my hands in a bowl of some unknown substance for 30 minutes while my technician walked away to help two other customers. I went to wash my hands and I scrubbed them and used hand soap but I have this nasty sticky residue stuck on my hands and my nails are so damaged. My roommate ended up getting the tip and the technician took 1.5 hours to do because they were also a very terrible consistency and they were not even at all. I LOVED this place, I have gone to so many different places in Lubbock to get my nails done but vintage has blown them all out of the water. I went in on the Sunday before NYE and there were only two people working, which is understandable. I was told the wait would only be 20-30 minutes and I ended up waiting over an hour. Which honestly I had nothing else to do so I did not mind in the slightest, especially for the quality of service I would rather wait longer and be happy with my service than have them rush through and my nails look choppy. I had Henry and he was fantastic, the nail place I went to before was really not good and my nails were to wide, and uneven lengths. Henry made it perfect without me even asking. He also kept asking after if they were looking okay before doing the whole hand to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I can keep going on and on but really give this place a try!
