KATIE is the BEST nail tech in all of Lubbock. I am so impressed with her work that I have sent 4 or 5 friends to her. The Bliss nail bar is a clean, professional, well-appointed and well-run nail salon. The owners and staff are gracious, make you feel important and if you make an appointment they are ready for you. Do not fret, they also take walk-ins. Chairs are comfortable, pedi bowls are clean and they use a liner, massage chairs actually function and as a BONUS they offer complimentary water, soda, wine or margaritas. Went in for a pedicure. I've used this place off and on for the past 4 years with varied results. The nice lady at the counter really tried to talk me into a $100 pedicure that was new. Instead I chose the tropical pedicure that I've had before. In their book they have you look through at the counter it's listed for $85. Pedicure was okay - lots of oil used, hot stone and "massage" was rather aggressive as the guy doing the pedicure kept turning to watch the FIFA World Cup (hey - I get it - but paying this much money, I'd like a decent little massage). Guy finished my pedicure and handed me a pay slip and started cleaning up. He had painted my nails but didn't do a top coat. What?! So I asked, "Can I get a top coat?" And he nodded and did it quickly, seeming kinda annoyed. One of my nails has bubbled a little and I wonder if it's because of all the oil. So I go to pay and the charge was $90. I don't mind paying a little extra, but this absolutely should be updated in their book they offer people coming in. All in all, this pedicure was not worth $90 so I won't be back. read more

David, the owner of Bliss Salon, desperately needs a receptionist or for his wife to show back up and handle things like she does. Our experience at his salon yesterday, where we have been customers since they opened, was disgusting and shameful, on his part. His inability to handle customers at the counter, talk on the phone, make appointments correctly, or actually be a nail tech, was severely lacking yesterday, and frankly I'm shocked and disgusted at his lack of professionalism in every interaction with my daughter's and I. Bliss charges $5 to remove old dip or acrylic. It took them over an hour to remove both from my daughter and I. Our fingers were burning from the acetone soaking in aluminum foil, ensuring we cooked. For over an hour. And charged for it. Not cool. David also repeatedly tried to crack inappropriate jokes about how many children I have, if I was working, and other invasive and rude jokes, which I shut down bc his comments were actually abusive, and downright bullying. Some of the nail techs, including Katie and Henry, were also gossiping about the clients around us and ourselves in Vietnamese while they did our nails. Obviously translatable with any translation app. So unprofessional and rude. Manicure much? Michael did an amazing pedicure and I commend his patience dealing with David. Vidalia is an expert, always professional and kind. Sadly, overall Bliss was a damn mess yesterday, and I cannot believe how much I was charged for such vile service by the owner, David. Maybe we will give them another try, bc I hate to judge the entire salon over the shameful actions of a few. But remember, like the president of the United States, the owner of a business sets the tone and vibe with their words and actions. David, do better. read more

I'm from Dallas and this is the most beautiful nail salon I've come across. The service was unbelievable from delicious large margaritas, friendly front desk, attentive service, and let's not forget, David. David is the manager and was the most grateful manager I've ever met! He took the time to get to know his customers. I had such a great experience here! I am very picky about my nails and these turned out absolutely amazing! They are extremely friendly and can do almost any design. I also noticed how sanitary the equipment is, because each customer gets a sanitized unopened bag of tools. Also, they do a great time of keeping the salon clean and organized to accommodate the Covid-19 regulations. I came with my best friend and we were able to stay together and enjoy the appointment with eacjoMy favorite salon in lubbock... by far. Appointments don't mean anything here. If someone walks in right before your appointment or the person before you was VERY late, then you have to wait, even though you are on time. I would understand on a busy Saturday, but this was a Thursday morning. There were several Nail Techs available that could have helped the lady before me since she couldn't make her appointment time, but instead I had to wait at least 20 minutes. They were quick too, which is usually not the case w nail salons. They were also very personable. We meet the owner and they gave us a card with the color we picked, just in case we wanted it next time which was a thoughtful thing. I WILL be back every time my nails need it! i didn't get a pedicure this time, but saw they had a ton of different scrubs and mask. I liked this place when I've went here the last few times. They are VERY expensive and do a decent job. $70 for a set of acrylics with shellac. However this last time I went I was very disappointed in the way the treated my friend and I. We went there a few weeks ago to get our nails done and as my friend kept telling her technician she wanted long nails, he kept telling her that he wouldn't do it and would make it look better when at the end of the day they are her nails not his. Also there was a younger man with a sleeve tattoo and his hair spiked up that sits on the left side, and while he was doing his clients nails he kept talking about how we need to shut up and how we were too excited about Texas techs game that was playing at the time which I found extremely disrespectful since no one but him had a problem with it.Well then a few days later her nails chipped off while she wasn't doing anything and my paint began to chip. We decided to use the card they give you and get our nails touched up. As soon as we entered the environment was tense. And even though promising my friend a new set of nails they refused to do so and instead all crowded over her and harassed her. Then they proceeded to talk shit about us the entire time we were getting our nails fixed. The same sleeve tattoo guy began to say that if we didn't feel comfortable then why didn't we videotape them or get out while doing his clients nails making her visibly uncomfortable. I am the last person to say this but I don't know if there reaction had to do with the fact that my friend was Hispanic or what but I nor my friends will never come back here after this experience!! read more

It's very rare to go in for a pedicure and come out looking worse than when you in. The technician wanted to file my toe nails with a coarse nail file to make them shorter, which hurt. I said I'd like them to be cut. She used cuticle nippers to trim my toe nails and now the nails are ROUND instead of cut straight across. My cuticles were barely touched. It took an hour to do a basic pedicure. I am attending a wedding on Saturday. Thank goodness I'm wearing closed-toe shoes. read more

I had one of the worst experiences today at bill nail bar. Starting off i win the giveaway they do on facebook, so i go in with a picture of how i wanted my nails and the man failed at the nails so i just kept it a basic, one color. The owner is the one who did my nails. The giveaway is worth $50. After he couldn't do the design i left my nails a solid color & i go to check out & the total is $70 which i still had to pay $20. Not to only mention i was there for almost 3 hours. i have never been somewhere where a full set w a solid color costs $70. they knew they could get the money out of me & they did. overall terrible experience & i as well as my sister & mom will never be coming back here. i advise anyone who doesn't want to get overcharged go here. hate to post these kind of comments, bashing but this kind of experience is not okay!
