What an awesome little find in downtown Greenville! There's lots of art places, lots of places to get beer lots of places to get food, but not a lot of places just to do some antiquing. This place had a little of everything! There was even a velvet painting of a matador along one of the back walls that I really wanted, but got the huge veto stamp! Ended up getting a couple Staffordshire dog figurines, and a bunch of little knickknacks for the kids and the wife. I had a surprising amount of fun wandering around this place! Great find. This store is right off the Main Street close to the waterfall. It's a collection of carefully selected antiques, with some in their original state, and some restored with artistic touches. The owner Tony went around introducing himself to us and others and he and his staff were kind. We got a nativity set similar to one I had seen on Pinterest for half the price - and I got to hand select it which I enjoyed. Good place to find a gift for a friend or house party, or a fun piece of decor for your own home. Worth the visit while walking the downtown in Greenville. read more

I bought a mouse that made me think of all the little tiny mice hidden around downtown. This place is an absolute must-see for everyone; it's one of Downtown Greenville's gems! The owner, Tony has crafted an incredible collection of items from a large variety of sources. Every weekend there seems to be new hidden treasures here and the most interesting pieces are always a surprise! Things that you have never seen before, or have never seen in-person, can be frequently found here and styled in a way that you can browse the store in a peaceful way. It's all thoughtfully displayed and arranged, with care and with love. Tony has also surrounded himself with a wonderful staff that is always helpful and welcoming, they are always super-kind! We love them! My wife and our little daughter love stopping by here as often as we can, and we are always amazed by the constant update and impressive curation of the collection. With so many treasures sprinkled around this store, I felt like a kid in a candy store walking in! Saying this place is well-curated would be a bit of an understatement--it takes a special eye and a knowledge of people to connect the history and aesthetic of an item with it's modern value. It's evident as you explore this shop that pieces are chosen for their uniqueness and cool factor--like the vintage cameras, funky bookends, and porcelain mushrooms. I was perusing for Christmas gifts, and found so many options it was hard to choose! I ended up deciding on a leather passport cover stamped with the most perfect quote, a vintage post card from a couple's mid-century trip to Spain, a candle with a funny and fitting song lyric, and some lovely matchbooks to top it all off. I will definitely be stopping in again next year for Christmas gifts, but I'll be back before then to find some treasures for myself! read more

Located in downtown Greenville on Main Street, not far from Falls Park sits Vintage No Modern. While it may appear to be in a shopping center, its a free standing building that boasts a large presence on Main Street! With this large store front, they take full advantage and place some of their beautiful furniture pieces, art and decor along the sidewalk. When you enter, you enter what feels like a furniture show room that is packed with items, but still very roomy and not crowded at all like other antique shops. The main room features all their furniture pieces from vintage to luxury, along with all the decor pieces from small to large and even some knick-knacks and linen items as well. We stopped in to search for a vintage desk, and while we didn't find it here, we did see some absolutely beautiful pieces of furniture and some really great home decor items, a few of which we actually took home! In addition to the furniture and decor, they also offer a design service. They have a small portion of the store, right when you walk in decked out with fabric swatches. Not sure price point on the service, but seems a pretty great service they offer! I would certainly trust them after seeing what they did with the store itself! Overall, we just browsing while visiting and we were both happy that we stopped in to see what they had to offer, and upon our next visit we will certainly do the same! Lastly, as if their location could not get any better...they are surrounded by multiple dessert places...so, browse before or after treating yourself! read more

Much of the stuff in the store is the same stuff you can buy at Hobby lobby or Michael's. It even kind of has that same smell to it. They just charge more for it here. If you are a minority, they will follow you through the store, profiling. I think the incredible amount of signs informing everyone about their precious parking spots should be enough to inform most people what kind of folks own this place. I get it, parking downtown is a disaster, but you're the ones who decided to open up a store downtown. You get foot traffic as a result. Being a jerk about the parking spots is just a total turn off. read more

If you're older and just have money to spend on over priced random trinkets around the house I'd come here. You can definitely go to JoAnn's and make some of these things. It's a place where it's cool to look but not buy unless you are looking for a flamingo salt and pepper shaker or super old camera that is only for decoration. Unique! Cute! Vintage! There are a mix of old and new items, and locally crafted items. Great spot to search for gifts, or stocking stuffers! This is also the only shop I have found in the downtown GVL area that is more geared towards "home and gifts". Remember this beautiful chandelier right in the store entryway? Well Tony graciously left it there safe, for months and months while I finished my home renovation. When I was ready for it, he packaged it up perfectly and now it hangs in my new, glamorous master bedroom addition. Almost better than the service and the chandelier was the price-after spending hours on Circa and Curry and Co. sites, I am so pleased. This place is so cute, and it is so well curated. I have assigned 4 stars solely because it felt pretty pricey. Some of the pillows were $150.00 per pillow and a small hutch was $800. I would have paid these prices for the perfect item, but i didn't find anything perfect for me. One of my favorite stops in downtown Greenville. Lovely staff and owners who are friendly, knowledgeable, and truly supportive of their customers (not the other way around). They went out of their way to ensure my first chalk painting experience was a success and that a gift made it safely to our house (two separate occasions). The owner even asked me to take before/after pictures and bring them in when I told her what I was up to. They have a LOT of fun items in the store, but as they'll tell you, if you like it, you should buy it, because it may not be there next time! I've had some minor heartbreak a few times when I browsed and didn't buy, so I will share that lesson with you. The icing on the cake is that I've found the prices to be very reasonable. Their Facebook page tends to show some of their newer items as they receive them so you can get a quick preview. I will admit that had it not been for my wife, I would have never gone in this place...but what a cool place. I like that things aren't on top of each other and looking like a low-end flea market. You definitely have plenty of room to browse and there are prices from one end to the other. Can't find something to buy? Keep looking because you will find something that goes home. read more

Please beware. The business owner, Tony, was unprofessional and hostile with us over a delivery issue. In this transaction, Tony had taken and deposited the full amount ($4,240) of our money for a sofa and chair and promised 8-12 weeks to deliver. After 25 weeks we asked for some reasonable compensation which we resolved at 7.3% ($310) rebate, due to the upfront payment being deposited in full 25 weeks ago. Our rationale, we should have only paid a deposit (i.e. 20%), or the check should not have been cashed up front if it was going to take this long, businesses should not use customers for free 0% interest loans of thousands of dollars. At this time we agreed to the 7.3% compensation, Tony indicated that in the past he wouldn't have resolved this issue the same way (indicating he had anger or conflict resolution problems) but was getting better at resolving issues. You can actually see another 1 star review on google where Tony tells his customer "were you looking in the mirror when your wrote this". Two weeks later he told us to come pick up the sofa and chair. We took time off work and got a truck and help to pick up the items. Tony brought us to a back alley behind his store (Vintage Now Modern) and instead of letting us pick up our sofa and chair, decided to implode and started using profanity and name calling (you're an "explicative" etc.), shaking with emotion and anger. He looked delighted to tell us off and to cancel the transaction knowing he wasted more of our time and stuck it too us. We remained quiet, a bit in shock with this bizarre behavior. Only mentioning after the profanity that we would try to warn others via a review and better business bureau. He did give us a full refund, as he continued with some more name calling again as he handed us the check before returning back inside his store. Exact dates for reference are initial sales order and check cut on 12/5/2020, 7.3% refund cut on 5/17/2021 and Tony canceling our transaction in a hostile encounter on 5/28/2021. read more

This store has some really cute finds. I saw a chair in there that I liked but I thought the price was pretty high. It was an arm chair with a foot stool and the foot stool alone cost about $450. The have a design studio in there where I think you can work with someone for upholstery and such. Lots of neat vintage finds though! I liked some of the cute cards and "near the register" finds too. The next time I'm in town I'll have to stop by to see if anything fits in our new house. read more

My husband and I went to VNM during our first visit to Greenville (we live in Charlotte). What a beautiful shop! The store also has reserved parking for its customers, which is an added bonus. VNM also offered complimentary coffee to customers, which was sweet. There were gardenia candles lit and the shop smelled wonderfully. I ended up buying one of the candles bc my husband and I enjoyed it so much. The shop is filled with unique, one-of-a-kind home decor items and gifts, at varying price points. I used the lovely restroom (who has a lovely retail restroom? VNM does!) and ended up purchasing a little display they had set up in there! The staff was really helpful and pleasant. Nice, but way, way, over priced. I found a couple of the same pieces elsewhere for half the price. Had a custom 74" maple round table made for 1/2 the price they were asking for their tables. I'm realizing that majority of these antiques and so-called vintage shops are really nothing but "gouging" their customers when it comes to their prices. You can find better quality vintage, modern, etc. pieces for much, much less if you just shop around and not buy into all the hype. read more

My wife would buy the entire store out weekly if we could...first class service, tremendous variety of items from bedroom to lighting to furniture to...everything...great pricing, and somehow they always find unique items you never thought existed.
