My family took this laid back tour of The Big Easy. The bus was comfortable and air conditioned and we were grateful in the summer humidity. Our driver was knowledgeable and injected humor and personality throughout the tour. We got out and visited a cemetery and later, Cafe Du Monde within 1,300 acre Orleans City Park. Drove through the Garden District and the French Quarter with areas of interest pointed out. Drove near Lake Pontchartrain and saw the repair efforts after Hurricane Katrina. It was a great way to get a taste of the city in a 2 hour tour. We were only there for the day and found the prices for this very reasonable. We had stayed in a hotel on the west side of the city and had packed up to leave town after the tour. We paid to park at the Sheraton for $30 while we did a little sightseeing before and after the tour. VIP City Tours does not have a physical address to meet at so they picked us up at the Sheraton and dropped us back there afterwards with suggestions for a couple places for a delicious lunch. This raggedy bus is giving me stomach pains. Lee, the driver was ok. The air is not flowing throughout the bus. We hear it but the unit is inot low enough to flow through the bus. On Washington and prytania, Lee advised its the richest area in NOLA; however, many homes I saw were for sale. We got off at a cemetery them Cafe Dumond (not the original). I would've preferred a tour of a home to see what they look like inside in that several were vacant, a place to purchase inexpensive souvenirs, take us to the Casino, let us take photos (at the beach/Lake Shore Drive) and give the riders (US) a souvenir for taking this expensive, bumpy tour. read more

The two hour tour went through many neighborhoods including the 8th ward, 9th ward, 6th ward, Uptown, Downtown, the Garden ward among many others. He conveyed the fascinating history behind each location. He stopped at a historic cemetery for a 10 minute walk around and later at City Park outside the Cafe Du Monde. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if Justin is your guide. They pick you up and drop you off at your hotel or location of your choice. We would go again if we came back later. read more

The 2 hr long bus ride w/ a couple walking breaks was fine, a nice overview to the city before we started our true self-exploration. However, Jared was fast talking with a strong accent (to my ears) so it was quite difficult to understand some of the things he said. He did a pretty good job of not letting on that he does this every single day, I didn't sense much boredom from him. This company will pick you up from your hotel (within some sort of French quarter boundary) which not all will do, and of course will drop you off wherever you choose. Many of us got off before our hotel so we could walk around. There are so many companies that offer this service, we discovered they were either 2-3 hrs (on a bus), and not all pick you up so conveniently. read more

We went on a fantastic bus tour with Tyra yesterday. It was entertaining, educational, relatable and we actually wanted to hang out with her for the rest of the day! But you know - all the other people had to be dropped off at their hotels . We made a stop at a historical cemetery and Cafe Du Monde and the timings were perfect. It was a very short 2-hour tour around the city. Short because our guide Chris or Stopha was amazing andrhe two hours passed like 20 mins! Armed with a great sense of humor and knowledge of the city, he made it an amazing experience. We learned a lot more about the city. Highlight of the tour was the stop at City Park's Cafe du Monde, where there were no lines! (The last time we were here, we stood 2 hours in the line). read more

She was crazy funny and very informative and had some amazing insights around the city, as well as personal experiences including a harrowing story of surviving Katrina. We got picked up at our hotel and stopped at one of the cemetaries to explore, and then stopped at Cafe du monde in City Park and had some incredible beignets.
