We went on the Ghosts & Vampires tour and it was so much fun. It's 1 hour and 45 minutes and you do get to hit up quite a few locations. Our tour guide was awesome, I wish I could remember his name. He passed out stickers of his art at the end of the tour. He was entertaining and informative. The tour starts out at the Voodoo Lounge where you can get a BOGO hurricane, and fortunately they have another bathroom stop if you need it at Lafitte's where you can grab another drink. Drinking made the spooky tales even more fun to listen to. Even if you're a skeptic and don't believe in any of this stuff, it's really interesting to hear about all the urban legends of a different city, especially one with such a dark history such as New Orleans. If you're gonna take a haunted tour anywhere in the US, I think NOLA should be at the top of your list. FQP was affordable and fun, so I highly recommend it.

We were down in the end of September, just in time for the start of the Halloween season. So, I was very excited for a ghost tour and Wolfie did not disappoint. I enjoyed his way of storytelling. He was detailed, entertaining, and very friendly. It was nice that he even hung back after the tour just to chat with a few of us for a bit. My husband does not share my love of all things spooky, like ghosts and vampire stories, but he also enjoyed the tour. Also shout out to the bartender who was by herself handling the large tour groups that all came at the same time like an absolute boss.

If you like tells of ghosts and vampires this is the tour for you. It has intrigue with the dark side of Orleans. We a few places consider to be haunted and the Vampire alley. We went by one place called the Vampire Cafe and the owner is supposed to be 300 years young. One church is being rumored to be where the wicked vampire's are locked up in the attic. This is approximately 1hr 45 mins tour so bring your walking shoes. This tour is fun for the whole family

This was a fun tour. I went on the ghost and vampire tour. The guide walked a a reasonable pace for everyone and there was a water and bathroom break in the middle. I don't recommend small children take this tour as there are some dark topics discussed, but nothing too disturbing. Next time I am in New Orleans I will check out another tour.

Mikey was a delight and very informative. Loved learning about the history and architecture.

LaLaurie Mansion - what an awful woman!

Our guide, Angela, was a blast and wove entertaining stories combining NOLA lore with global stories and beyond. It was not scary at all and I was hoping for a little shiver, but it was a blast. Thanks, Angela!

We enjoyed our tour with Pepe a fun tour leader with lots of historical knowledge. Ours was a small group and he was always willing to answer follow-on questions and go a lot deeper into the history when requested. He was helpful with keeping us in the shade when we stopped. We didn't know much about Voodoo but learned enough to want to read some more about it at home. We learned a lot from Pepe.

Our tour guide, Catherine, was perfect! A little quirky, a little different, but extremely kind and knowledgeable. It was a hot night and she put her heart and soul into her presentation. The adults only tour was well worth the extra money! Thanks, we will be back! I'm in DC, so I'll definitely check out their partner up here at Harper's Ferry. Thanks for everything!

Hi I am going in June 2023. Will the cemeteries be open for tours?

We did the Vampires and Ghosts tour at night, and the cemetary tour in the day time. If you like creepy ghost stories, then the ghost tour. If you like more history, the cemetary tour. Check groupon for deals too!

Which tour would you recommend for adults and kids ages 14 and 11 who love scary movies?

The "ghost and vampires" tour was my favorite, but it may be a bit much for your kids depending on what they can handle. A lot of the stories deal with murder things of that nature. It wasn't by any means over the top with gore, but I would ask the… Read more

Date of tour: December 21, 2024…read more After a wonderful food tour in Prague last year, we wanted to replicate the magic stateside while visiting New Orleans, a city with a rich food history and scene. As requested, I will keep the individual location names secret as to not spoil your potential food tour but also because the stops can change and I don't want to have you disappointed if you don't get the same places on your tour. Ty was a great guide, providing us with local history and culture as we ate our way down Magazine Street. The only complaint I have is that they didn't really interact with us during the food portions, standing or sitting off to the side, or running to the next location to make sure we were all set. To me, the guide should be not only the bridge between the locations and food with us, but also a bridge between the different groups on the tour. Ty told us before the tour started that the other folks joining us were from Michigan, but we found out from them later that they were actually from New York. Had these connections been made earlier, it would have enhanced the tour. On to the food, wonderful that it all was! Please note that I may make some errors in the actual names of the food, while I took pictures, I did not write down the names and there wasn't a post-tour recap to assist me! Stop #1: A local sandwich and a seafood side. Both quite good, especially since I don't like olives! Stop #2: An unusual meat that was shockingly good! Stop #3: Seafood options. I've had a different version of one of these items in Asheville, NC. This wasn't quite as good but still tasty. Stop #4: Southern favorites that were so good! I didn't think I would like these but I did. Stop #5: A peppermint fudge cupcake. Sadly, the weakest stop on the tour. Other that tried the gelato came away disappointed and my cupcake was neither overly fudgey or pepperminty. It looked pretty, though!

To say that the Storyville Museum achieved its goals and earned five stars would be an understatement; this may very well be the best museum I've visited in at least the past three years. The story of Storyville is complex, full of nuance, and with many unanswered questions. For me, one of the hallmarks of an excellent museum is that it lets these questions linger; the rough edges are not smoothed over, and visitors leave pondering big moral and ethical questions. That's exactly how I felt: the museum gave me a fantastic scaffolding of understand about Storyville, but it was also clear that its socioeconomics, its racial and gender dynamics, and its complex intersection with local, state and federal law are vast unplowed fields of potential for masters theses and PhD dissertations. For me, the intersection between prostitution and the political power structures were fascinating. Ton Anderson is a case study of contradictions, and one could spend a career trying to peel back the layers there. So too are the intersections with New Orleans's rich musical cultures and traditions. The stories of the madams themselves were equally captivating. Josie Arlington's and Kate Townsend's lives were riveting, but so too were the countless other women who didn't achieve their considerable wealth and power. The price of admission isn't cheap, but it's well worth the investment. Plan to spend at least two hours here, and learn about an important part of New Orleans's history that's well worth seeing.

This museum blew my mind with its wide range of history!…read more Storyville Museum is self-explanatory: it goes in depth about how the community of Storyville took place. The museum dives into the infamy Storyville crafted for itself, with newspapers condemning the women, yet some of these people who protested against the practice had took part in their services. My emotions traveled from being humored at this development, to fully facing the truth that this was not all for fun and humor--for many women of Storyville, this was the other way they could keep a roof over their head. The tour details tragic incidents like violent deaths and immoral acts that took place to bring in more visitors. It's an unsightly part of New Orleans' history, but this attraction presents such things with tact and well-thought out design. I was lucky enough to have the whole museum to myself and my partner, so we spent much time really absorbing this history and discussing the bleak and disturbed reality of what was promoted as a lively form of business. I recommend others to stop by this place; it is definitely not for children or those sensitive to sexual content, violence, or abuse. If your comfortable exploring those topics, then Storyville Museum is a great attraction to visit. It was one of the most beloved spots that I found during my vacation, and I'd be happy to go again!

He is a wise man who has lived through so much and he not only witnessed things but takes action to make right what is wrong. I was so impressed with his bravery and the many ways he initiated change for good. He defines terms for you (like how a Creole person is a child born of black and white parents). And like another Yelper mentioned, he provides a portfolio given to you that accentuates his tour and it's VERY well organized!! It is a very interactive tour and you get to hold very historical items. I won't say what they are so I don't ruin it, but those helped me learn a lot. It produced a strong emotion for me to experience something that was used for evil on precious children and adults. This tour really takes you deep into the mindset of things. Mr. Waters also teaches us about symbolism and how important it was in many aspects! It's about a 2 hour walking tour and I highly recommend bringing enough water (but there are no restroom breaks in between) and a hat. This tour is worth every minute of your time and New Orleans will have a different look to it after you go through it. It's very educational and important to know the history.
